A Quokkka for Every Card

The Quokka has been nicknamed the world's happiest animal!
They are marsupials and just like a kangaroo, they can carry their baby Joeys in their pouch.
You can find these adorable little chipmunk lookalikes in Australia on Rottnest Island!

They are said to be so friendly that you could even take a selfie with them!

Kat Scrappiness has 3 different stamp sets featuring the adorable Quokka!

and the newest addition is

I have a fun card to share today that features a few fun products from Kat Scrappiness!

The Everyday Quokka set is so versatile because it comes with so many accessory stamps to dress up your Quokka with! Here's a look at the stamp set:

I created a mini slimline card using the Everyday Quokka stamp set and I used the birthday cake stamp to make a birthday card. Depending on what your Quokka is holding you can make birthday cards, holiday cards, baby cards and the list goes on and on!

I started with a piece of Neenah 110lb Classic Crest white cardstock and cut out a panel using the largest die from the Mini Slimline Double Stitched Dies. After I cut out the panel I embossed it with a paw print embossing folder.

*Cardmaking Tip*
Make sure you cut your panel out with the slimline die before you emboss it so you don't flatten the embossed pattern in the die cut machine.
**ask me how I know**
😂 😂😂

I matted the embossed panel on to a piece of brown cardstock and then on to a mini slimline base.
I just love the  CZ Happy Birthday die from Simon Says Stamp, it's a Cathy Zielske original.
I love this die because it comes with 2 dies, one being a shadow layer to matte the words on.

Look how cute this little guy looks holding his cake! You just can't be sad if you're holding cake!
🍰 🍰  🍰

In hindsight I wish I cut his hands out so you could see him holding the cake but he's still
cute nonetheless right?

I hope you enjoyed my cute little Quokka card today and make sure to head to the Kat Scrappiness store today and check out the entire new February release! There are lots of new dies and an endless amount of sprinkles and sequins to choose from!

Have a great day, I already am!

Coffee With a Quokka!

Hello and welcome to my blog, it's my day to bring you some caffeinated craftiness over on the
Coffee Loving Cardmaker's Blog in my own personal ICU (Intensive Coffee Unit)!

Today I have a bright, fun and cheerful card to share with you featuring one of the cutest little animals you've ever seen! If you've never heard of a Quokka then you're in for a real treat!

My card today features a few fun products from Super Sponsor Kat Scrappiness!

I started out with a mini slimline card base and I stenciled some clouds on to the largest die from the
Mini Slimline Scalloped Edge Die using the Cloud Stencil from My Favorite Things and some Speckled Egg Distress Oxide Ink.

One of my favorite new KS products is the After The Rain Die and it features that chunky happy rainbow you see on the coffee cup. I cut out all the colors of the rainbow that I wanted and glued them together. Once I had them glued together I used the Layered Coffee Cup Die to cut out the rainbow in the shape of the coffee cup. It was the perfect size to fit on the front of the coffee cup!

The best part of the new Everyday Quokka stamp set is all of the accessories that it comes with and as luck would have it there is a cute little coffee cup in the set.

I love how the cute little Quokka is holding his mini coffee cup sitting on top of the oversized coffee cup!
To finish the card off and give it some extra shine, I added some pretty Sparkling Clear Droplets.

The sentiment comes from an adorable stamp set by Darcie Heater called You Mocha Me Crazy!

Thanks for stopping by today to have Coffee With a Quokka! I would love to encounter one of these cuties in real life one day, how about you?

Have a great day, I already am!

Valentine Quokka Gift Bags

Valentine's Day 2021 is just 2 days away and if you're struggling to find a cute little package to wrap a small gift or some candy in, I've got an idea for you!
Kat Scrappiness has tons of Valentine's Day inspired products including the brand new
Valentine Quokka Stamp Set!  I used the Stitched Heart Tag Dies to make these cute little gift bags and I decorated them with those adorable Quokkas!

These cute little bags were super easy to make but I cannot take credit for the original idea.
My fellow Kat Scrappiness teammate Maria made a video a few years back explaining how to put this gift bag together. Here is a link to that video on YouTube in case you'd like to see the process.
Maria makes it super easy to follow the instructions to construct the treat bags.

I created 2 treat bags for today's post using patterned paper from the Heartfelt Wishes Slimline Paper Pad.
This paper pad coordinates with the Valentine Quokka Stamp Set and has the cutest little images of the Quokkas throughout the pad.

I started by cutting out 2 panels from the larger of the 2 dies in the Stitched Heart Tag Dies. You can actually get 2 panels out of one piece of paper from the Heartfelt Wishes Slimline Paper Pad.

The next step was to create the strip of paper that will connect the 2 panels to each other to make the gift bag. The connecting strip measures 2" x 11 7/8" and is scored at several points on the strip.
Score at 4" and 7 7/8" on the 11 7/8" side
and
Score at 1/4" on the 2" side down both sides
Maria's video shows exactly how to do this and shows the markings on the score board.

The long strip is attached to the 2 heart panels with strong double sided tape.

The long panel lines up perfectly with the heart panel and forms a little box to add your gifts and/or treats to. It's the perfect size for a small gift such as jewelry or a fun mask or some home baked cookies.

I decided to custom wrap some granola bars to add to my bags. I picked out some fun polka dot paper and wrapped the granola bars giving them a fun scalloped edge on each end of the bar.

For the decoration on the front of the wrapped bars, I stamped images from the Valentine Quokka Stamp Set on to a Stitched Scalloped Circle Die and a sentiment from the stamp set on to a Stitched Flag Die.
I decorated the front of the bags the same way.

Don't they look sweet all wrapped up with matching paper and stamps! What a darling little treat bag to give out on Valentine's Day!

Here's another look at them all wrapped up and ready to go with the granola bars inside.

Here's a quick look at all of the products used for this project as well as they are linked throughout the blog post.

I hope you enjoyed my little project today and I hope it gave you some fun ideas for creating fun and unique Valentine's Day packaging!

Have a great day, I already am!

Coffee Loving Cardmakers Design Team Close Up

I am up on the Coffee Loving Cardmaker's blog today with a special post!
Today it's my turn to share a little bit about myself just like my teamies did previously in a feature called Design Team Close Up!

Those of you that follow my blog might be interested to know a little bit more about me as well so here goes:

My name is Lisa and I've been sharing my caffeinated creations every other Tuesday in my *ICU which stands for "Intensive Coffee Unit"! In my ICU the IV bags contain coffee instead of normal IV fluids!
😂 😂 😂
The reason I chose to name my posts Lisa's ICU is because in real life I work as a nurse in a NICU which stands for Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
I take care of very sick neonates who are born prematurely or with very serious medical conditions. I have seen babies born weighing as little as one pound and as much as thirteen!
It can be a very stressful job but very rewarding at the same time! My paper crafting world is the perfect place to lose myself in a hobby that I love and it keeps me sane!

I despise photos of myself but one day I was fooling around with filters on my phone and snapped this black and white photo that I actually liked and I thought I'd share it here today.

A little about me....
I am a mom to 3 wonderful kids ages 27, 21 and 15 and we live in sunny South Florida!
We have 2 cats, 1 dog, 1 bearded dragon, 5 leopard geckos and 1 betta fish.
So basically a ZOO!! 🐶🐱🐱 🦎🦎🦎🦎🦎🦎🐠

I've always been a crafty person for as long as I can remember. My mom is even craftier than me and is very talented.  She has dabbled in painting, quilting, calligraphy, sewing, papercrafts, knitting, crocheting and science projects that were due the next morning 😆 😂 😆

Seriously I could always count on her for any and all crafty endeavors and she taught me every craft she knew! Honestly my dad was always a willing participant as well and he
even went through a macrame phase years ago.

I in turn passed my craftiness on to my kids. My oldest daughter is a big planner girl and owns almost as many planners as I do stamp sets. 😲 My younger daughter loves to paint and has painted many of the pictures that hang in my craft room today.  My son loves reptiles, tennis and gaming but has been known to make a card or two with me!

As far as my papercrafting journey goes....
I used to design custom invitations and announcements which led to scrapbooking which ultimately led to card making. My favorite of all is card making and I spend most of my very little spare time creating my "OhSoCute" projects! You can find me here on my blog and I also share my projects on Facebook and Instagram! There are links on my About Me page.

I was introduced to card making like many of us were..... at a Stampin Up workshop and the rest is history! I love being a part of the Coffee Loving Cardmakers because it always challenges me to pull out my coffee themed stamps and dies and make something fun! Our team is very uplifting and supportive and our fearless leader Amy is super sweet!

As far as me being a coffee lover I would say that my favorite coffee drink right now is iced coffee.  There is a brand called STOK that I am absolutely addicted to! I buy it at the supermarket and make it at home.  It's very smooth and it comes pre-made so I only have to add half and half. Don't tell anyone but the truth is I actually like a little coffee in my cream.......🤫 🤫 🤫

I've rounded up 9 of my favorite cards that I've made since joining the Coffee Lovers and here is a collage of all those cards.

So that's a little about me and my life, it was fun sharing a little glimpse of me with you!
I hope you'll stop by Lisa's ICU here on the Coffee Lovers blog every other Tuesday and have a cup of coffee with me!

I did make one more brand new card for today to share with you! In honor of the recent Coffee Lovers collab with Sweet 'n Sassy stamps I made a card using three of  their new caffeinated themed stamp sets.

and

That sentiment just CRACKS me up! I love how the animal print looks as the koozie on the cup!
I added some Brown Jewels from Kat Scrappiness for some extra interest.
I just love how this card turned out!

Thanks for hanging out with me today friends! I hope you enjoyed the little peek into my life! If you have any questions just ask away, I'm a pretty chatty Cathy once I start talking!

I'll end this post the way I end EVERY blog post.....

Have a great day, I already am!

Mini Slimline Dies with a Heart Shaker

While most crafters love making Christmas cards, I actually love the crafty season that follows next!
Valentine's Day is my favorite crafty holiday! I've always loved hearts and pink and girly things ever since I was a little girl! The recent release at Kat Scrappiness brought with it the most awesome Mini Slimline Dies you've ever seen! There are so many different varieties which means there is something for everyone! My favorite of all of them is the Mini Stitched Scalloped Slimline Dies! Those dainty little scallops just make my heart go pitter patter! My second favorite Mini Slimline Die has to be the Mini Slimline Double Stitched Dies because it is the perfect layering dies for ALL the minis!

I used both of my favorite minis today for my shaker card.

For the shaker element on my card I used 2 different heart dies. The first is the Stitched Scalloped Heart Dies and the second is the Layering Nested Heart Dies. To make the shaker window I took the largest Stitched Scalloped Heart and I cut the middle out of it with the second largest Layered Heart Die. Once I had the scalloped frame I adhered a piece of acetate to that back of it that I cut out using one of the Layered Heart Dies.

The next step was to add foam tape to the back of the frame. A tip to help you mold foam tape around a specific shape easier is to remove the backing tape before you start to adhere it. Once I had the entire frame lined with foam tape it was time to pick out the fun shaker bits to go inside the window.
The back of the shaker heart is the largest Stitched Scalloped Heart  cut out and left whole.

For my Valentine's themed card I chose the adorable Cupid's Arrow Sequin Mix and I stamped my Happy Valentine's Day sentiment from the Valentine Quokka stamp set. I also used the beautiful Pink Heart Droplets around my sentiment in the 4mm and 6mm sizes.

This card was so much fun to make and probably because I used so many of my favorite Kat Scrappiness products! Head on over to the shop and check out all of the new Mini Slimline Dies, the new Quokka stamp set and the hundreds of adorable sequins and sprinkles!

Here is one more look at my card with all of the supplies used.

In addition to all of this Valentine goodness Kat Scrappiness has just released some more awesome new Valentine dies and they are ADORABLE!! They make shaker cards so easy and one of them even has peekaboo flaps! You can check them all out here!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! If you love any of these products as much as I do than it would make me so happy if you clicked on any of my affiliate links throughout the post to purchase them and add them to your crafty collection!

Have a great day, I already am!
