Unicorn Shaker Card

**WARNING**
THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE AN AVERSION TO GLITTER AND SPARKLE MAY WANT TO SHIELD YOUR EYES!!
🦄🤩🤩🤩🤩🦄

Ok so I may have gotten a little carried away with the glitter and sparkle but I just couldn't help it! Everyone knows that when you are making anything unicorn related it has to
SPARKLE AND SHINE!
Good morning crafty friends, It's my turn on the Kat Scrappiness blog today.  For today's card I have a unicorn shaker card made with the OH SO POPULAR Crafters Essentials 1 dies. The fun 3 panel die in this set really lends itself to shaker cards! There are over 400 varieties of sequin mixes in the
Kat Scrappiness shop that you can go shaker card CRAZY!

For my card I filled those panels with the dreamy Fairy Dust Confetti Mix
Oh those colors are just heavenly!

I used the Pinkfresh Studio stamp set Magical Unicorn for the fun unicorn horn and headband and I also used the Avery Elle Star Frame Die to add some gold star embellishments to the headband. For some added greenery in the headband I used the tree die cuts from the Lawn Fawn Flamingo Together stamp and die set.
So I admit this card is a little over the top but if you need a birthday card for a pre-teen girl in love with unicorns than it's just perfect!

Here is a picture of all the supplies used on today's card.  I will link all the supplies below as well.

Elephant Baby Card

I'm so excited because my new stamps came today from Tracey Hey.  Her line of stamps are called Alpaca Pals and they are adorable! On today's card I colored one of the cute elephants from the Never Forget stamp set.

Tracey has the most adorable hand drawn animals in her stamp sets and they are perfect for all different kinds of cards. I needed a baby card for a shower and I thought this little guy would go well with the theme.
I just love how he looks popped up over the cutout hearts.  I watercolored a panel behind them with zig markers to match the colors in his hat and embellishments.  I finished the card off with a sentiment from Reverse Confetti and some Fabrika Decoru enamel dots in the color "Heavenly".  They are available with many other colors at Kat Scrappiness
I am also going to enter this card in the
since the theme is anything goes.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Have a great day, I already am!

Scavenger Hunt Slippers Card 😂

Ok first of all let me explain the blog post title...
First of all I know I can't be the only one who gets inspiration from odd places right? My card for today came from an interesting place.  I've had a really cute pair of slippers for a while and lately I've been thinking they would make a really cute coffee card. Here is a picture of the super cute slippers.

This brings me to the other part of my blog post title. The Scavenger Hunt...  To make this card I went on a scavenger hunt in my craft room.  Now I know you all have done that! I knew I had several coffee cup dies but I had to search for eyelashes, a mouth and steam.  That's where the fun began! Here's the card and then I'll tell you about the scavenger hunt results.

To start with I used the really cute coffee cup die from Cas-ual Fridays because I adore the heart shaped handle. One of my favorite things about the slippers is the silver glittery sparkled cup so that was easy! Next came the fancy eyelashes.  I looked far and wide but finally realized that the only thing I had was a Pinkfresh Studio stamp of eyelashes.  The easiest thing to do was stamp them and let my "scan-n-cut" cut them out for me.  Hand cutting was not an option....too detailed for me. The mouth came from a small circle punch that I cut and then cut into again to form a little mouth. Moving on to the steam, I tried several methods including using white paint to make the steam and only succeeded in making a mess🙄 I finally remembered that I had a My Favorite Things coffee cup die set with steam dies, so much easier than paint!  The cute alphabet dies came from Jaded Blossom and I did a little bit of surgery to alter some of the letters to get that random whimsical look. The background for the card is some Hawaiian Shores Bitty Big striped paper from Papertrey Ink.
Well that's the card for today.  I am entering it into the
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge this week since the theme is anything goes.

I hope you are all enjoying your week!
Thanks for stopping by!

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday

I'm back again with another Papertrey Ink Make it Monday card.  This week Melissa is using die cuts to make stencils.  I love this technique and have used it before but it's been a while.  Today I made a card using a stencil that I made out of my Chevron Cover Plate.  I sponged the stencil with Pale Peony ink and then I added the July Corner Adorner to the corners with Aqua Mist ink.  I love how Melissa did that on her card, I think it adds such a faint classy touch to the card. I also used the corner adorner on the base of the card for a little extra interest.  I added two roses from the Watercolored Rose stamp set and a sentiment from the Penned Elegance set.  The Penned Elegance set is one of my favorites for many reasons but mainly I LOVE how the matching dies cut out the words so precisely! It's such a gorgeous touch! I cut out some Bitty Big paper for make a frame for the card as well and I finished it off with some clear sequins for sparkle. Here is my card for today.
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today!
Have a great day, I aready am!

SSS Wednesday Challenge and a new Stamp company

It's nice to know that my favorite challenges are here every week even when I can't be.  They are always there when I have time to play.  Oh how I wish I had time to play every day but "adulting" always seems to get in the way!
Yesterday was a crafty day however and I had time to play so I headed over to the Simon Says Stamp blog to see what the Wednesday challenge was for this week.  I was happy to see that the theme is to use a die or punch.  I just love my dies and punches and it's rare that I make a card without one.  For today's card I used several dies and an adorable stamp set I recently purchased that I have fallen in love with! There is a new stamp company located in the U.K. called Alpaca Pals.  The artist's name is Tracey Hey and she is so very talented.  Her stamp sets feature the most adorable hand drawn animals and if you haven't see her work yet, I highly recommend checking it out here. Take a look at the super cute Koala on my card today.  It's from her stamp set called "Koality".
How could you not fall in love with that sweet Koala, not to mention the adorable baby in his backpack!❤️🐨❤️
For my card today I made a scene using this sweet Koala.  Since I don't own any Eucalyptus stamps or dies I had to attach my sweet Koala to a palm tree.  I don't think he minds and he looks so cute hanging from that tree! That cute tree is a die from Paper Smooches and the grass die is from Lawn Fawn. Here is the card for today.
The sentiment is from the "Koality" stamp set and it is stamped on another die from Kat Scrappiness called the Distressed Edge Rectangle dies. I cut my Koala out using my
Scan n Cut machine so I guess he is a die cut as well.  Lots of dies on this card to it's perfect for the SSS challenge this week!
Thanks so much for stopping by today and don't forget to check out Tracey's stamps, you won't be sorry!
Have a great day everyone!

Happy Little Stampers July Spotlight

Hello crafty friends and thanks for joining me today here on my blog. Happy Little Stampers has a fun new addition to their blog. On the 20th of each month they are going to choose a different stamp set to be the "Spotlight" for that month and the design team will make some projects showcasing that set.
For the month of July the stamp set is my favorite one!

I just adore those cute quirky birds and that fun elephant, not to mention that super cute curly font!  I really think that this set looks great with watercolors which is just what I did on my card. Here is the card that I created with the

For the background of the card I used the Linked Circles Cover Panel die from Reverse Confetti. I sponged it with distress inks to give it a light pastel appearance.  I stamped the elephant, small bird and sun onto a banner that I die cut from a piece of watercolor paper and I used my Zig Clean Color markers to watercolor the images. To finish off the banner I stamped some stars and added some sequins for sparkle.

I really enjoyed making this card and I hope you enjoy seeing what the design team came up with this month using the Whimsical Friends stamp set!
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!

Mini Notecards by Lisa

Good morning crafty friends!
I'm over on the Kat Scrappiness blog today to bring you a sweet mini trio of notecards. I have an easy technique that I think you are going to fall in love with. We are going to make mini notecards using the nested dies we all love and reach for all the time for our regular sized cards. The finished size of each card is approximately 4 1/8" x 2 3/4". What you need is the largest die from any of your nested die sets.  I've used rectangles but squares would work as well.  The 3 nested die sets I've used are the Stitched Postage Stamp Edge Rectangles, the Stitched Scalloped Rectangles and the Wonky Wavy Stitched Rectangle Dies

For my trio of sweet cards I used patterned paper for the card base for some color and variety but any paper or card stock would work.

After I die cut the largest size die from each set, I folded the paper in half to create a mini card.

Then comes the fun part! Decorate to your heart's desire! I added a piece of white card stock to the front of each mini card and stamped a background with florals and then popped the focal points up on foam tape. I used the Scripty "Hello My Crafty Friend" die as the sentiment on 2 of the cards. I finished each card off with some pretty colored twine and 3 sparkly sequins from the Barbie Sequin mix. I stuck with the rule of 3 to place my sequins down and it was just the right amount of added sparkle. Since the card base is made from dies that have decorative edges, your cards will have 3 fancy edges that are so pretty!

Making these mini notecards is a cinch and uses dies that you probably already have in your stash.  Kat's nested dies are the perfect size to create these mini cards. It might not be a new technique but it sure is fun! Small notecards are perfect for lunchbox notes, quick thank you cards or for any occasion that calls for a quick small card! For some added fun you can make your envelope out of the same patterned paper to match your card.  The possibilities are endless!
All supplies used are linked below.

Happy Little Stampers ATC July Challenge

Hello everyone!
I am super excited to be joining the Happy Little Stampers ATC challenge team.  Thank you Kylie for this great opportunity!  Every month Happy Little Stampers has an ATC challenge and the theme for July is Coffee!  For anyone who isn't familiar with ATC cards, they are mini works of art that measure 2.5" x 3.5" and are traded around the world. Usually they are numbered and signed on the back by the artist.  There is certainly no lack of coffee themed art these days and it is so much fun to create!  For my project I created 4 ATC's with some awesome faux coffee stained backgrounds.
Here are the 4 cards I made for this challenge.

I used 2 different coffee cup dies, 1 from Spellbinders and 1 from Cas-ual Fridays and the sentiment stamps are from Technique Tuesday and Cas-ual Fridays.
Here are closeups of the individual cards.

I hope you'll play along this month and enter the ATC challenge at Happy Little Stampers!

Winner for this challenge will receive a $20 coupon to spend at the shop!

Patriotic Birthday Card

Good morning crafty friends, today I'm up on the Kat Scrappiness blog
to share a new card with you!

I hope everyone who celebrates the 4th of July had a safe and enjoyable day yesterday!
In honor of the 4th I thought I'd use the new
Crafter's Essentials 1 dies to share a patriotic birthday card with you!
The Crafter's Essentials dies have 13 individual dies in the package and there are literally an endless number of combinations available for making cards.  These dies are a cardmaker's best friend! There is a great picture showcasing 9 different sketches as examples using these dies which I'll share below.
My card was a quick and easy one to make and I decided to use quite a few different embossing folders on the card to give it a lot of texture.
I used polka dot folders on the card background and mini polka dots on the letters from the Condensed Lowercase Alphas. The smaller white panel was embossed with a brick background folder and the circle die was run through my paper crimper to give it some texture as well.
I heat embossed my sentiment from Everyday Brush Strokes on to the blue strip across the circle in white.  I popped the circle, stars, white panel, sentiment and letters on foam tape to give it even more dimension.  Here is a picture of all the supplies used.

Head over to the shop today to take advantage of the sale going on.  15% off storewide and a free sequin package with all orders!

Thanks for stopping by today, all products will be linked below.
Have a great day everyone!

Get Creative Challenge - #71

Hi everyone!  I'm back today with another challenge from Get Creative Challenges

The challenge for July for the pink team has a theme of a shaped card (no squares or rectangles) and goes from 7/2 - 7/31. For my card I used a beautiful pansy image from Eureka stamps and I watercolored it with my Zig clean color markers.  I chose to make a scalloped oval easel card using some beautiful dies from Kat ScrappinessThe Stitched Scalloped Oval dies are so pretty and versatile for so many card projects!  Both sentiments are from the Gina K stamp set, Wreath Builder.  What a fun card to make!  I'm very happy with how it turned out!  I hope you'll join us this month and play along, I can't wait to see your creations!
Have a super day everyone!

Angies Digital Stamps July Challenge

Hello crafty friends and welcome back to another monthly challenge over at Angies Digital Stamps! This week I chose to play with this adorable Heart Baby Onesie image from Angies shop.  I printed the images out 3 times on some pretty Papertrey Ink Sweet Blush Bitty Big paper and inked the ages after I cut them out.  I love how the card has a real vintage feel to it.  I used the Edgers 2 die from Papertrey as well for the pretty scalloped border under the onesies.  I made the sentiment on my computer and inked the edges as well after I cut it out.
This month is challenge #22 and it runs from 7/1 - 7/27
and the theme is Anything goes.

Make sure to visit the other Design Team members blogs and see the beautiful cards they've created! Please remember you have all month to play along.
