Winter Wonderland Shadow Box

It's my turn today on the Kat Scrappiness blog and I have a Winter Wonderland
to share with you in the form of a shadow box card.

I made my card following a tutorial on YouTube that can be found here.

For my card I used one of the new releases in the shop

This set of dies include:

Two stitched snow drift/hills
One die with three pine/Christmas trees
One deer die
An A2 sized *Cut and Emboss Stitched Snowflake Swirl Background Die
***Click here to see a video on how to cut and emboss with this background die)***

Here is the inside of my card using all of the dies from this new set.

I used the Stitched Swirl Background Die for the backdrop of the card and I layered the stitched snow drift on top of it.  I adhered the trees and the deer to the front layer of the box for some dimension.  The 3 snowflakes are from the Snowflake Kisses sentiment die and I
glued one down to the background and the other two to the outer frame.
The snow drift, trees, deer and snowflakes were cut with glitter paper
for some extra sparkle.

I went pretty simple with the front of the card since the inside is so detailed.
The largest Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Die in glitter paper was the perfect shape
to showcase the Happy Holidays sentiment
Three snowflakes from the Snowflake Kisses sentiment look so pretty around the sentiment.

Here is a short video showing the 3 dimensional properties of the card.

Winter Penguin and Charity Blog Hop

Good afternoon crafty friends!
I've taken it upon myself today to put you in the winter mood!
We don't have the traditional winter here in Florida so we have to
create winter themed cards to put us in the mood!
Well today I have an arctic penguin to put you in the mood!
I made a winter themed shaker card to kick off the inspiration for a blog hop
that is happening in December over at Kat Scrappiness!
The theme is winter and here is my cute little penguin to start off the momentum!

As some of you know Kat Scrappiness is holding a blog hop in December to benefit
a local charity called The Coffee Oasis. This charity helps the homeless
and troubled youth in the Washington State area!

For those of you who don't know here is a link so
you can read all about it and join in the fun for a good cause!
We are looking for crafters, bloggers and YouTubers to join us for this
blog hop from December 7th through the 10th!
We have loads of great crafty companies sponsoring the hop
and we would love for you to join us as well!

I hope my winter penguin has put you in the mood to start creating some
winter themed cards and maybe you'll join our blog hop and enter
one of those cards for a good cause!

In the meantime I will list and link the products I used on my card below in case
you want to do a little shopping at Kat Scrappiness now.

Snowflake Kisses

Even though I live in sunny South Florida it doesn't mean I can't play with snow...  Ok not real snow but I do have these sparkly snowflakes in my craft room thanks to Kat Scrappiness!
A few days ago I made a card with an ink blended background and die cut a background panel out of it.
When I was throwing away the leftover negative pieces, the die set Snowflake Kisses popped into my head.
The cool colors just reminded me of snowflakes so I cut out some snowflakes from the scraps!

I wanted a soft background for my snowflakes so I took a Hero Arts stencil that I've had since last year and did some some soft ink blending in the center of my card with the same colors I used on my card. The 3 colors of distress inks I used were:

I love how these 3 colors blended together to give nice cool overall feeling (unlike we will EVER feel here in Florida)!
Ok well maybe for 2 brief days in February!
πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜…
The main die cut for the card is a one piece sentiment that is also from the die set Snowflake Kisses.  The set comes with the sentiment and one small snowflake.

The words were cut from glitter card stock and the inked snowflakes were scattered around the card.  I also included the tiny stars from the center of the snowflakes to fill up the card.
(Waste not want not!)
Lately I've had an obsession with Stickles glitter glue and I thought these snowflakes could use a good dose of sparkle and shine.  I love how they twinkle in the light.  I wish the photo picked it up better.
Here is a picture of all the supplies I used on the card.

This was definitely one of those unexpected cards that I wasn't planning on making but I'm glad I did!
Thanks for stopping by the old blog today!
