Santa... Define Naughty!

Happy Turkey Day to all of my crafty peeps! Today I'm up on the Kat Scrappiness blog with this cheeky Christmas card! The Naughty Christmas Stamp Set with matching Die has the funniest sentiments and this really great scripty "naughty" word die cut.

I started by stenciling a fun background that resembles the Starlight mints that are so popular this time of year. After my panel was all stenciled I cut it out with the largest die from the
For my focal point I colored one of the gnomes from the Christmas Gnomes Stamp Set with my Copic markers and then I gave him some dimension by using a snow marker on his hat and boots.
The sentiment and "naughty" die cut are from the Naughty Christmas Stamp Set with matching Die and I decided to make the die cut nice and shiny by heat embossing it with clear embossing powder!

Here is one more pic with all the supplies used on today's card.

Pre-Thanksgiving Advice!

Good morning! Today I am up on the Coffee Loving Cardmaker's blog with another caffeinated card to inspire you!

In just 2 short days, Thanksgiving 2020 will be taking place and it will be the most memorable Thanksgiving of all time...... Or maybe the one we will all want to forget given the current climate.
One thing is for sure, Thanksgiving means family and food and whether you are going to be seeing family this year or having a quiet Turkey day at home, make sure you have your beverage of choice and you relax and appreciate your family near or far!

With all the holiday hustle and bustle it is easy to get frustrated and have our patience tested so my card today is a reminder to drink your coffee (or beverage of choice) instead of saying bad words to strangers! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

One of my favorite cards to make is a shaker card and every now and then I like to shake it up a little by making a square card.  I just love the symmetrical look they have. Today I thought it would be fun to use my favorite critter from The Rabbit Hole Designs caffeinated line, the Caffeinated Bee!
☕️ 🐝 ☕️ 🐝☕️ 🐝☕️ 🐝☕️ 🐝☕️ 🐝☕️ 🐝

I started out making this card by using the Heart Masking stencil from Taylored Expressions and blending 2 different Distress Oxide inks, Squeezed Lemonade and Fossilized Amber.
The next step was to take that hilarious sentiment from the CAS-ual Friday's stamp set titled
"Hot Coffee Stamps".  Before I moved on the shaker portion of the card I added some fun black splatters to the card for a little more interest.

For the outside black frame of my card I used the Stitched Scalloped Square Nesting Dies from Kat Scrappiness. I cut the largest die from the set using black card stock and then I used the second largest die from the Double Stitched Square dies to cut a window out of it. I glued some acetate behind the window to complete the shaker portion and then I adhered foam tape to raise the panel up making room for my shaker bits.
When I make a shaker card I like to sprinkle my bits on the base of my card and then position the top panel over the bits so I can properly center the panel on my card.  My shaker bits are all from Kat Scrappiness and consist of these 3 products:

I think it's a lot of fun to mix a concoction of shaker bits from different sets to make a fun mix for my shaker cards! The last step was to color that cute little bee with my Copic markers and adhere him to the front of my card. I love to used sparkly Stickles on the bees wings to really make them stand out!

I always enjoy a fun shaker card, I love the interactive nature of the card and they really give you the opportunity to customize your card to your liking.  Making the shaker bits mix is always a bit like being in the kitchen and making up a brand new recipe!
Here is a look at all the fun products I used to make my card.

Thanks so much for BUZZING by my ICU today! I sincerely hope that everyone has a safe and fun Thanksgiving no matter where you spend your day and no matter who you spend it with!

Have a great day, I already am!

25 Days of Christmas Tags

Hello all and welcome to my blog! Today I'm hopping along with Tracey McNeely and Paper Sweeties for the 25 Days of Christmas Tags annual event!

Fun fact: this is the 10th year that Tracey is holding this event! Since 2020 has been a hard year for everyone, Tracey agreed that all of this Christmas tag making fun was just what everyone needed!
I couldn't agree more!

Today I am participating with a Christmas tag that I made using stamps, dies and ribbon from
Paper Sweeties!

I started off with some kraft paper and I cut out my tag using the Sweet Cuts | For You tag die.
The sentiment I used is from the stamp set titled Sweet Mini Duo | Home and
Sweet Mini | Home Add on: Sweet Home. The Duo stamp set also comes with the matching dies for that cute little holly berry cluster that I colored with my Copic markers. I just love how the sentiment looks embossed with white powder. I finished off my tag with some Green Apple seam binding and red and white twine.

Thanks for stopping by today, make sure to check out Tracey's blog and see all of the inspiration that everyone is sharing this holiday season!

Have a great day everyone, I already am!

Kat Scrappiness Holiday CARDAPALOOZA!

Welcome to my blog! Today I have a lot to share with you!
The November release at Kat Scrappiness is amazing and I want to share all of the projects I made using the brand new dies and sprinkles!

I'm going to start with my favorite dies from the release! They are called the

Christmas Shaker Ornament Dies and there are 3 different shapes included in this set. They make the cutest little shakers and I made 4 cards with them but then I took it a step further and created some felt ornaments with them as well. I made most of them with the sewing machine (with my mom's help) and one of them I hand stitched with floss thread. Here are the cards and felt ornaments I created using the fabulous die set.

I will list all linked products used on each project directly under their pictures!

Condensed Lowercase Alphabet Dies
Sugarplum Fairies Sequin Mix
Sugar Plum Fairies Slimline Paper Pad

Christmas Shaker Ornament Dies
Happy Holidays Brush Script Word Die
White Jewels

Next up from the new release is this gorgeous
It's perfect for holiday cards or any occasion where a bow would be appropriate!
I have a holiday card and a birthday card to share with you using this new die!

🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻

The next die I want to share with you today is another Slimline Die called the
Forest For The Trees Slimline Die and it features a wonderful forest that you can use year round depending on how you decorate it! It also comes with 3 different size mini leaves to decorate your trees with depending on the season!

Here is my card using the Forest For The Trees Slimline Die and it features a Winter Wonderland scene using dies from the Crafter's Essentials Winter Dies.

🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻

And last but certainly not least I have one more shaker card to share with you that features an older Kat Scrappiness die that is just perfect for all of your holiday cards!

What an elegant die and it's so easy to create a shaker card using the multiple layers that come with it. You can make separate shaker sections or make one big shaker like I did.  I decided to make a holiday card in some non-traditional colors. This card is pretty simple to let the tree and sequins take center stage.

Clean and Simple Calming Cards

Welcome to my blog, take a deep breath and relax!

2020 has been a stressful year and the past few days of this crazy election hasn't made it any easier.        No matter which side of the political fence you are on, the stress is running high!
The ugliness in the world only seems to be getting worse and it is so scary!

As card makers we tend to craft away the stress and it can be very calming to immerse yourself in making art and pretty things! Today is my day on the Kat Scrappiness blog and I knew I wanted a pair of clean and simple cards to deliver a calming message. It felt so good to sit at my desk and use minimal supplies and some of my prettiest pattern paper to make 2 cards to share today.

I don't know who needs to hear this today but keep taking deep breaths and surround yourself with people who bring you peace! My 2 cards today are centered on the words PEACE and BREATHE.

I created these 2 cards using minimal supplies but I think they came out so pretty!

I started by taking some of my favorite floral patterned paper from my stash.  I've had this paper forever and it is my go to when I want some pretty dainty florals. I cut out all the letters for both cards using the Condensed Lowercase Alphabet Dies  by Kat Scrappiness and put them aside. Next I took some beautiful linen paper and cut out 2 panels using the largest die from the Stitched Scalloped Rectangle die set.

I wanted to place the letters down evenly so I used my Wendy Vecchi MAKE ART Stay-tion to line them up. I laid out my letters evenly and placed a thin piece of purple tape over them that extended beyond the letters. I took the strip of letters still on the tape and flipped them over to apply my Nuvo adhesive to the back side of the letters. Having them on the tape made it easier to lay them down on the card panel. Once I laid them down I carefully peeled off the purple tape and pressed the letters down one by one allowing the glue to seep in.

After I adhered both panels to a soft pink piece of card stock the only thing left to do was add some sparkly Pretty Pink Jewels around the letters.

When I apply my jewels and embellishments I like to use the Kat Scrappiness Jewel Picker tool and a Triangle Sorting Tray. It makes the application and clean up so much easier. I pour my embellishments into a sorting tray and pick them up with the jewel picker and place them on a small dot of glue on my card. The process is super easy and very efficient.  After I'm done the triangle tray makes it so easy to pour the jewels back into their bag.

There is even a Kat Scrappiness Mini Pink Funnel Tray to keep your embellishments confined and make it easy for you to funnel them back into whatever is holding them.

Kat has also just released a brand new item that is a MUST HAVE for anyone with multiple packs of sequins and embellishments. It is called the Embellishment Organizer Solution and it is FABULOUS! This awesome case has 64 individual containers to hold all of your beads, sequins, jewels and other such embellishments. It also comes with 196 label stickers so you can remember the names of all of your pretty embellishments.

Here is one more look at my cards with all of the products I used.
You really don't need a lot of supplies to make beautiful cards!

Thank you so much for joining me today, I hope I brought a little PEACE into your life and encouraged you to BREATHE deeply and go make some pretty art!

Stay tuned to all things Kat Scrappiness because the new release is coming out November 7th and 8th, just a couple of days away and you don't want to miss it! There will be lots of holiday themed Dies and brand new Sprinkles!
