Coffee With My Dad!

Hello Coffee Lovers!
I'm up on the Coffee Loving Cardmaker's Blog today and since Father's Day is coming up this month, I thought it would be fun to make a caffeinated card for my dad!

We love to go to Starbucks together for some coffee and a chat. His favorite hot drink was always an Americano with Breve Foam but recently he changed his order. On our last visit I noticed a drink on the menu that looked delicious called a Shaken Iced Espresso and I was right..... it was DELISH! My dad was inspired to try a cold drink like mine for a change so he ordered a Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino and he was immediately hooked! It's nice to hang out having our favorite caffeinated beverages and talk about life!

The new release at Super Sponsor Kat Scrappiness has the perfect Father's Day die and it is perfect for a slimline sized card!

for this slimline card.

The base layer of the card was cut out of some patterned paper using the largest die from the
Zig Zag Nesting Slimline Dies and I added some Mocha Pearl Mix for some extra embellishments because why not?

Here is one more look at the card with all of the supplies I used.

I hope my dad likes his card, I certainly enjoyed making it and I look forward to our next Starbucks visit so we can sip and chat!

Have a great day, I already am!

Got Coffee?

Hi crafty friends, today I'm on the Coffee Loving Cardmaker's Blog to share 2 cups of coffee with you.  If you've already had your morning cup, pour another and relax.  Kat Scrappiness has an awesome die called the Layered Coffee Cup Die and it's just the right size to take center stage on any card!

For today's post I have 2 cards. I wanted the first card to have a "coffee stained" background so of course I reached for my Ground Espresso colored Distress Ink pad and  I "smooshed" (technical crafty term) some ink onto a piece of acetate and then sprayed it with water.  When the ink was moving around I placed the acetate onto a piece of watercolor paper and the results were gorgeous!  I then assembled my coffee cup out of various colors of card stock and patterned paper.

Here is a very handy instruction sheet to show you how to assemble the pieces from the die.

For the koozie section of the die I used kraft cardstock and I stamped a star from the Kat Scrappiness Swatches stamp set.  After that I ran the koozie through my paper crimper to give it a realistic look with some dimension and I added it to the cup with some foam tape.  When the coffee cup was fully assembled I added some paint splatter with the Ground Espresso color to the whole cup.  I just love the added interest paint splatter gives to any project!
For my sentiment I used the Kat Scrappiness "Got Coffee?" die and added it to the side of the card.  This sentiment is awesome and uses a fun whimsical font that is perfect for any coffee themed card.

For my next card I used just the word "coffee" and cut it out 3 times in different colors for a fun look.  I painted the coffee cup with a pink pearlescent color from the Kuretake Gansai Pearls colors watercolor set and I added a heart to the cozy from the "Swatches" stamp set and heat embossed it with Ranger Gold powder.  I placed it on a diamond embossed background and added some fun
Kat Scrappiness Barbie sequins for a feminine touch.
Such a different look with the same die!

If you added the sentiment "Wanna" above this die, it would make a cute card for a friend inviting them to get together over coffee reading "Wanna Get Coffee?"
This coffee cup die makes it easy to create an eye catching card in no time!

That's all for today, I am glad you stopped by!
Have a great day, I already am!

Just Brew It

Hello and welcome to my blog! Today I'm up on the Kat Scrappiness blog with a bright and cheery coffee card! It just so happens that this week the Coffee Loving Cardmakers are celebrating their
Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Hop and Kat Scrappiness is a returning Super Sponsor for this event!

I just love making coffee themed cards and Kat Scrappiness has a whole section in their shop with coffee related stamps, dies, sequins and more! They even have realistic looking
Coffee Beans for shaker cards or embellishments! Check these out!!!

For my card today I wanted to make a bright and cheery coffee card so I grabbed some happy Doodlebug Simply Spring patterned paper and got to work! I usually gravitate toward the color pink when I'm making cards but today the blues and yellows caught my eye. I used the Layered Coffee Cup Die and cut out the cover and koozy using the cute little bumble bee/butterfly (not sure) patterned paper. For the base of the cup I used some light blue paper and embossed it with a polka dot embossing folder.  Next I matted this happy cup on to a white panel cut with the Stitched Scalloped Rectangle die and another yellow plaid panel with a larger Stitched Scalloped Rectangle die. Finally I added some blue and yellow confetti around the cup using the Party Confetti Sprinkles
For the sentiment at the bottom I used a stamp from Jaded Blossom.

I just love how this card came out, it just makes me happy!
Head over to Kat Scrappiness to check out all of these fun coffee themed products plus so much more! Lucky for you Kat is having a Memorial Day Sale through May 29th and you can save 15% sitewide using code MEMDAY2020.

National Coffee Day "Week" with the Coffee Loving Cardmakers

Hello my caffeinated friends!
I am up on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog today with my teamie Annette Allen!
We are part of a week long celebration for National Coffee Day.
There are some awesome Super Sponsors as usual and some fun prizes to be won!
Make sure to check out the hop that started on Sept. 29th and goes through October 6th
on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog.

For my card today I used products from 2 of the super sponsors.
I think it's important to note that while everyone has started making their fall themed
cards and projects I live in Florida and Fall hasn't arrived here yet.
Let's face it Fall won't arrive until February and it will only stay for about a week.
Which leads me to my tropical themed card.  The temperature here is in the 90's
so my mind is still in tropical mode.
I just recently bought the Hibiscus Stencil Set  from Super Sponsor
Newton's Nook and I couldn't wait to use it! It really paired well with the
Here is my "out of season" coffee creation.

I started with the Layered Coffee Cup Die from Kat Scrappiness and cut it out
using white card stock. I then took the Hibiscus Stencil Set from Newton's Nook and
laid it over the coffee cup. I used pinks, yellows and greens to fill in the Hibiscus stencil
and I am LOVING the results! The Taylored Expressions blender brushes area a dream
to use and made the stenciling super easy! I layered a piece of vellum over top
of the coffee cup so you could see through to the flowers and then added
an Aloha die cut from Lawn Fawn on top. The pineapple background was made
with an embossing folder over vellum.  I love the way vellum takes on a white
appearance when it is embossed. I adhered everything to a bright pink A2
card base and my card was done.

Please excuse this tropical card in a sea of sweaters and pumpkin spice lattes.
I'm sure I'll be breaking out the pumpkins and sweater stamps any day now.

Here is a look at the super cute card my teamie Annette made.
I am in love with those super cute mice from Waffle Flower!

If you haven't already hopped along to all of the super sponsors for
the National Coffee Day hop, you have until October 6th to do so.
Many of them have awesome prizes and they all have beautiful
inspiration from their talented designers!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Have a great day, I already am!

2018 Fall / Winter Coffee Lover's Blog Hop

Welcome CRAFTY COFFEE lovers to the 2018 Fall / Winter Coffee Lover's Blog Hop!
Kat Scrappiness is participating in the hop once again and I have created a
coffee themed shaker card to join in the fun!

My card features the Kat Scrappiness  Layered Coffee Cup Die front and center and I cut the coffee cup directly out of the front panel so I could back it with acetate and make a shaker card out of it.
I filled the shaker well with Caramel Latte and Espresso sequin mixes,
both of which are available in the Kat Scrappiness store.
For the adorable focal point I chose the adorable Gerda Steiner stamp
called Warm fuzzies! I just love that fuzzy little bear holding his coffee / cocoa mug!
The sentiment on top of the card is from the same stamp set.
I think shaker cards just might be my favorite type of card to make.
It's so much fun picking out just the right shaker bits to go in the card.

Kat Scrappiness is giving away a gift pack of products including (stamps, dies, sequins, etc.)

Matchbook Pop-Up Gift Card Holders and a Video

Welcome back to my the blog!
I'm here with you today and I have a fun project to share!
Since the holidays are just around the corner and gift cards are
such a popular gift giving idea,
I thought I'd show you a cute way to package them.
I made a matchbook to put them in so that they pop-up when you open them!

I made 4 matchbook gift card holders and decorated them with various
stamps and dies from the Kat Scrappiness shop.

Here is a look at all 4 of them:

And here is how they look when you open them and the gift card pops up:

Aren't they adorable!
The fun part is that there are so many ways to decorate them and they can be used for any holiday or occasion depending on the paper and embellishments you use.

I also filmed a video to show you how to make your own.
I used 5 different stamp sets on my matchbooks, 3 of which were just released at
Kat Scrappiness along with many various dies also available in the shop.

In the video I'll show you all of the products used on each matchbook and
I'll go through a quick tutorial on how to make your own!
It's really simple and they come together very quickly once you've made one.
I'll have all of the measurements in the video that you will need.

Heres a link to the video on YouTube.

As always, thank you for joining me today! I hope you'll give one of these matchbooks a try. It will give your gift cards a facelift and you'll have fun making them!
All of the products I used in today's project are listed and linked below.
If you want to purchase any of these fun products at Kat Scrappiness, you can use

Have a wonderful day, I already am!

Pumpkin Spice & Everything Nice

It's my turn today on the Kat Scrappiness blog.  Pumpkin Spice season is fast approaching and today's card should put you in the mood!  I wanted to use the Layered Coffee Cup Die to create a Pumpkin Spice Latte card and I thought it would look great against a fall colored background.  To make such a background I decided to watercolor with some Distress Inks.  I took 3 colors, Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade and Peeled Paint and I watercolored a background and then splattered it with black paint.

After it dried I took my Peacock Backdrop Die and cut it out.
The next step was to cut out a piece of brown paper with the Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Die.  I used the 2 largest sizes in the set and I nested them in each other and ran them through my vagabond.  That left me with a frame that I could put around the watercolor panel to finish it off.

Once I had my background done I moved on to creating the coffee cup for the front of the card. I die cut the Layered Coffee Cup Die
in dark brown, the koozie in craft and the top in white. I used a white gel pen to add stitching around the coffee cup and koozie to give it a finished look.
I added a pumpkin die cut from my stash to the front of the koozie. I cut it out in orange paper and  dry embossed it using a polka dot embossing folder to give it some texture.
I thought that this pumpkin could use a little something extra so I popped a dark brown heart to the front for some extra cuteness.

Now that the coffee cup was finished, I needed a little something to adorn the top of the coffee cup. I wrapped a piece of twine around the top of the cup and hand punched the word "enjoy" out with a mini tag punch.  I didn't have the word enjoy in a stamp in a font I liked so I computer generated it.
Now I needed a sentiment so I printed out a cute one using the same font as the little "enjoy" tag.  I layered the sentiment onto a piece of orange card stock.
Inking the edges really allowed it to stand out.

Last but not least I added Orange Jewels all around the sentiment and the
coffee cup for some added sparkle!

If you use the code "Lisa10" in the shop you can save 10% on your order!

All in all I think that this card came out beautiful!
Hope you enjoy!
Have a great day, I already am!

Coffee Monster Cards

HAVE YOU SEEN THE MONSTERS?

I just recently found them myself!
These cuties are part of an adorable stamp set by
Gerda Steiner called Coffee Monster.  I had seen these cuties around Facebook and Instagram and I knew I had to have them!
I just bought them at Kat Scrappiness along with
some other crafty goodies!
I was so inspired by these adorable monsters that I made the 3 cards shown above to share with you!
To begin with I stamped all the cuties out on
Bristol Smooth card stock with
Gina K Amalgam Ink so that I could color them with
whatever type of marker I wanted.
Since my Zig markers give me the best blended results I used them for the coloring.
I cut out a bunch of them at once with my Brother Scan n Cut and laid them all out on my desk. There is definitely no lack of mojo when all of those cute monsters are staring back at you.
The ideas for the cards came pretty easily.

For my first card I took some True Black Bitty Big paper from Papertrey Ink and cut it down with one of the Kat Scrappiness
Stitched Scalloped Border dies. I backed the polka dot paper with some craft foam so that it would have some dimension and I added the first monster to the bottom.  I used my craft knife to cut away one of his hands from his body so that he could hold his itty bitty coffee cup under it... so cute!
The sentiment from the Coffee Monster set was stamped at the bottom of the card with Orange Zest ink from Papertrey Ink. For a little bit of extra color and interest I added a few drops of
Nuvo Crystal Drops in blue. I've always loved the look of vibrant colors against a black polka dot background.
Card #1 done!

For my second card I started with some Kraft card stock from Papertrey Ink.  My favorite kraft card stock hands down for color and quality! To give the background some texture and dimension I ran the paper through my vagabond with my
We R Memory Keepers Next Level Quilted embossing folder.
For my focal point I used the Kat Scrappiness
Layered Coffee Cup Die  and popped monster #2 up on the koozie.  I added an itty bitty coffee cup from the stamp set to his hand as well. The Layered Coffee Cup Die is such a great size to take center stage on any card! You can check out this video on my YouTube channel to see instructions on how to assemble the bits and pieces of this coffee cup. For my sentiment I die cut the Kat Scrappiness Got Coffee word die from some PTI Dark Chocolate card stock and added it to the top and bottom corners of the card.
Card #2 done!

For my third and final card I started with some Aqua Mist card stock from PTI for my card base. The card base was given some extra interest with the help of the Cover Up Grid stamp set by PTI. I used a tone on tone effect and used Aqua Mist ink to stamp the grid. Next I took some PTI Kraft card stock and stamped out my own background using the coffee cup from the Coffee Monster stamp set and the largest coffee bean and heart from the Kat Scrappiness Let's Get Caffeinated stamp set. I used PTI's Cocoa Bean ink for all the little background images. The kraft panel was then cut with one of the dies from the Kat Scrappiness Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Dies.  Those are definitely my go to dies for many of the panels on my cards.
I love the scalloped edges!
All that was left was to add my sad monster to the front with foam tape and stamp my sentiment from the Coffee Monster set
underneath him in Versafine Onyx Black Ink
That is definitely my favorite black ink for
crisp black sentiment stamping!
Card #3 done!

I hope you enjoyed these 3 monster cards I've shared today.  Many of the products I used are available in the Kat Scrappiness shop and if you use my code Lisa10 you can save 10% on your order. I will list and link those products below.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
