Happy Little Stampers April Watercolour Challenge

Hello crafty friends and welcome back to another Watercolour challenge
over at the Happy Little Stampers blog!
This month the theme is anything goes with an optional "Bright" twist.
Here is my card for this month.

After I made my card I realized that the twist this month was Bright.
Since I loved my card so much I decided to use it anyway.
It's not very bright but I do love the muted colors.
I used some gorgeous watercolor flowers from a fabulous
website called Angie Makes.
She has some free clipart as well as some beautiful watercolor
clipart for sale.  I printed that beautiful flower out and cut it out
with my scan and cut.
I layered it on to some pretty gingham paper from Papertrey Ink
and a Stitched Hex Tag die from Reverse Confetti.
The Thank You word die is from Heidi Swapp.
Watercoloring is one of my loves but I'm not always very good
at it.  Using the pre-painted flowers is a fun way to still get that
whimsical look on your cards!

Come join us for the Happy Little Stampers Watercolour Challenge this month!
We want to see your watercolor projects.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you get some free crafty time today!
Have a great day, I already am!

Easter Shaker Notecards

Hello crafty friends and welcome to my blog!
I'm up on the Kat Scrappiness blog today and I have a fun trio of shaker notecards
to share with you using the newly released Easter edition of the
Crafter's Essentials dies. This is a fun set that features several different dies
perfect for Easter and Spring themed cards!
Here is a picture of all the dies that come with this set:

I used the bunny, chick and cracked egg to make 3 adorable shaker notecards.
were the perfect accessories for these cards!

The first card was made using the bunny die from the set.
I cut a card base out of card stock measuring 4" x 8 " and scored it at 4".
I used a piece of patterned paper from the Hoppy Easter paper pack
cut to 4" x 4" to cover the card base.
I then took a piece of white card stock and cut out a panel
with the second largest Square Zig Zag die
I placed the bunny die in the center of that Zig Zag square
and ran it through my Vagabond.
That left the negative shape of the bunny in the panel which I then
backed with acetate to form my shaker window.
To make the foam tape curve around the back of the bunny
I snipped small lines half way into the tape so that it would bend
easily and not warp the paper.
For the bunny shaker I used 3 different sequin mixes:

It's so much fun to see the mix of sequins and confetti shaking around.
For the sentiment I stamped on a Stitched Flag Die and used the same
patterned paper to back it with a larger Flag die.
I also decorated the flag with a few stars from the shaker mix.

Next up is the chick card.  The basic assembly of the card is just
like the bunny card except I used different patterned paper and sequins.
The patterned paper is also from the Doodlebug Hoppy Easter paper pack
and the sequin mix is called Chicken or the Egg?
I just love the little yellow chick that's included in this mix!
I tucked one of them behind the sentiment flag.

The last card I have to share with you is the cracked egg card.
Again the basic assembly is as explained in the bunny card above.
The patterned paper for this card is from the Doodlebug Simply Spring paper pack
and the sequin mix is called Easter Egg Parade!
The tiny die cut Easter eggs in this mix are just too cute!

These cards were so much fun to make! You can really get creative with the
patterned papers and different sequin mixes, there's so many fun combinations!

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #430

Hello crafty friends and welcome to my blog!
Today I decided to play along with the
The sketch is #430 and it looks like this:

For my card I wanted to use those adorable piggies from the Hog Heaven stamp set.
I thought they would look good spread across the card to match the sketch!
I placed them on some washi tape to match the sketch and finished off the card with
a sentiment from the same stamp set.
I stamped the sentiment on to an MFT Speech Bubble die cut and positioned it under
the middle piggie so he could have a place to rest his arms.

Thanks for stopping by today, so glad I got to play along this week!
Have a great day, I already am!

Eggsploding Sweetness

KaDoodle Bug does it again!
I am just in love with this adorable chickie dressed as a
bunny with some yummy chocolate goodies for Easter!
This CUTE chickie is part of a file called
Eggsploding Sweetness on the KaDoodle Bug Designs website.
There are 2 other images included with the file that are just as cute!

Here's how I made this card:

* First I printed out that cute chickie and cut him out with an

* The next step was to build my card base. I adhered a piece
of yellow gingham paper from Papertrey Ink directly to the card base.
I then cut a piece of yellow card stock down to 3 3/4" x 5" and ran
it through a polkadot embossing folder and adhered it to the gingham panel.

* I took the oval panel with my chickie and popped it up on foam tape
and stuck it to the center of the card. I added some sequins from 2

* For the sentiment I used a Happy Easter stamp from a set called
To mat the sentiment I used a technique that I love.
I turned the stamp on to it's back side and stamped
the solid image in brown ink. I ran it through my
scan n cut and increased the outline twice.
I replaced the stamped image with brown paper
and let the machine cut out a perfect mat for my sentiment.

* Lastly I tied a bow in pink twine around the top of the card
to bring out the pink in the bunny ears.

I am in love with how this card turned out! The yellow is so soft
and the image is just darling! Here is a picture with all the supplies used.

I have 2 cards to share with you today using the new
We Are Family stamp set.
The first card uses the image of the Mom and Daughter
and I made a card with them sitting in a field of flowers.

I began by stamping the duo on to some white card stock
with Gina K Amalgam Ink so I could do some Copic coloring.
My scan n cut did a nice job of cutting them out.
Next I cut out a white panel with the Stitched Scalloped Rectangle die
from Kat Scrappiness and I did some ink blending with
Tumbled Glass and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide inks
to give some soft color to the background of the card.
I arranged the mother daughter duo with some pretty stamped
flowers from the My Favorite Things Painted Prints stamp set. I wanted
them to look as if they were in a field of flowers. I also added a couple of silver
glittery butterflies from an old Stampin' Up punch for some extra fun.
I added the sentiment directly to the background panel and some
fun puffy clouds from Paper Smooches!

My second card features the sweet stamp with the
Dad and Baby!

I knew I wanted this card to have a fun galaxy background incorporated
into in somehow so I thought it would be perfect peeking
through a window. I colored the cute dad and baby and cut them
out on my scan and cut. I placed them on some wood grained
patterned paper to appear as if they were on the floor playing.
I added a window die from My Favorite Things and placed it on an
embossed panel to give the look of wood paneling for the walls.
The galaxy background behind the window was made using
Blueprint Sketch and Black Soot Distress Oxide Inks.
I blended them on some smooth card stock and then splattered white
ink all over it. I also added in some white hand drawn stars with a gel pen.
I stamped the sentiment on to brown card stock and
heat embossed it with white powder.

The Rabbit Hole Designs April Release - Happily Ever After

Hello and welcome to Day 1 of
The Rabbit Hole Designs release hop for April!

I am over the moon excited to announce that I will be
joining the talented Rabbit Hole design team as a full
time member starting with April's release!

This month The Rabbit Hole Designs has 2 new stamp sets
they are releasing and today we are sharing the first one.
It is called Happily Ever After and it is a darling set
with multiple couple images that are perfect for
wedding cards, anniversary cards or any love themed
card that you might need. The sentiments included
pair perfectly with the images and are done is such a
pretty whimsical font!
Here is a picture of the Happily Ever After stamp set:

All of the new stamp sets are available to purchase
right now in the shop.

I have 2 cards to share with you today using the new
The first card uses the image of the couple back to back holding
a bouquet and the "love" sentiment.

I began by stamping the sweet couple on to some white card stock
with Gina K Amalgam Ink so I could do some Copic coloring.
I only colored the bouquet and the flower in the girl's hair
so they would really stand out against the black and white theme.
I then took a Kat Scrappiness Stitched Scalloped Oval die
and cut out the image. I cut out a mat with the next largest
oval die in black paper to really make it stand out.
I also used the Stitched Scalloped Border die on some
pretty white glitter paper to layer the oval panel on to.
The last step was to stamp the "love" sentiment in red
to match the flowers. Such an elegant clean and simple card
where the image can really take center stage!

For my second card I used the sweet couple holding hands
over a stenciled background.

I began again by stamping the cute couple on to some white card stock
with Gina K Amalgam Ink so I could do some Copic coloring.
My scan n cut made quick work of cutting out the image.
Next I took some smooth white card stock and did some fun stenciling
with Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Ink over the beautiful
Simon Says Stamp Circular Lace stencil.
I cut a white frame with a Craftin Desert Diva Inside Scalloped Rectangle
die and layered it over the stenciled panel.
Before I adhered this panel to my card base, I covered my card base
with some light gray polka dot paper cut with the largest die
from the Kat Scrappiness Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Dies.
Next I stamped the "Mr. & Mrs." sentiment in Weathervane ink
from Papertrey Ink. I love the soft look of gray sometimes rather than
a harsh black ink. I popped the well dressed couple up on to
some foam tape and added a few sequins for some shine.

Caffeinated Bee Spinner Cards

Good morning crafty friends and welcome to my blog!
Today I am up on The Rabbit Hole Designs blog with my last post as a guest
designer for the month of March.
It's been so much fun guest designing for this great new company!
I just adore their fun and quirky stamps! Make sure to check them out!
I have 2 fun spinner cards for you.
I used the Rabbit Hole Caffeinated Bee stamp to make an
interactive spinner card and I decided to do it 2 different ways.

The first card has the spinner on the front of the card and when
the card is opened it spins around on a string.
I mirror stamped the bee on both cards so I could have the identical
symmetrical image on both sides of the spinner.

There are many YouTube videos showing the construction of a spinner card.
They are actually quite easy to make and they look very impressive when
opened by the recipient.
Here is a link to another spinner card I made recently,
I used a bunny for the spinner but the construction is the same.
***Bunny Spinner Card***

The second card has the spinner on the inside of the card but essentially
acts the same way with the bee spinning wildly when the card is opened.

Here are 2 short videos showing the mechanism of the
spinner when the cards are opened.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
I hope you enjoyed my cards and maybe you'll
give the spinner card a try!
