Pre-Thanksgiving Advice!

Good morning! Today I am up on the Coffee Loving Cardmaker's blog with another caffeinated card to inspire you!

In just 2 short days, Thanksgiving 2020 will be taking place and it will be the most memorable Thanksgiving of all time...... Or maybe the one we will all want to forget given the current climate.
One thing is for sure, Thanksgiving means family and food and whether you are going to be seeing family this year or having a quiet Turkey day at home, make sure you have your beverage of choice and you relax and appreciate your family near or far!

With all the holiday hustle and bustle it is easy to get frustrated and have our patience tested so my card today is a reminder to drink your coffee (or beverage of choice) instead of saying bad words to strangers! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

One of my favorite cards to make is a shaker card and every now and then I like to shake it up a little by making a square card.  I just love the symmetrical look they have. Today I thought it would be fun to use my favorite critter from The Rabbit Hole Designs caffeinated line, the Caffeinated Bee!
☕️ 🐝 ☕️ 🐝☕️ 🐝☕️ 🐝☕️ 🐝☕️ 🐝☕️ 🐝

I started out making this card by using the Heart Masking stencil from Taylored Expressions and blending 2 different Distress Oxide inks, Squeezed Lemonade and Fossilized Amber.
The next step was to take that hilarious sentiment from the CAS-ual Friday's stamp set titled
"Hot Coffee Stamps".  Before I moved on the shaker portion of the card I added some fun black splatters to the card for a little more interest.

For the outside black frame of my card I used the Stitched Scalloped Square Nesting Dies from Kat Scrappiness. I cut the largest die from the set using black card stock and then I used the second largest die from the Double Stitched Square dies to cut a window out of it. I glued some acetate behind the window to complete the shaker portion and then I adhered foam tape to raise the panel up making room for my shaker bits.
When I make a shaker card I like to sprinkle my bits on the base of my card and then position the top panel over the bits so I can properly center the panel on my card.  My shaker bits are all from Kat Scrappiness and consist of these 3 products:

I think it's a lot of fun to mix a concoction of shaker bits from different sets to make a fun mix for my shaker cards! The last step was to color that cute little bee with my Copic markers and adhere him to the front of my card. I love to used sparkly Stickles on the bees wings to really make them stand out!

I always enjoy a fun shaker card, I love the interactive nature of the card and they really give you the opportunity to customize your card to your liking.  Making the shaker bits mix is always a bit like being in the kitchen and making up a brand new recipe!
Here is a look at all the fun products I used to make my card.

Thanks so much for BUZZING by my ICU today! I sincerely hope that everyone has a safe and fun Thanksgiving no matter where you spend your day and no matter who you spend it with!

Have a great day, I already am!

Living La Vida Mocha!

Good morning fellow caffeine addicts!
I am up on The Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog today and I have a
quick and simple card to share with you!

The Caffeinated line of critters at The Rabbit Hole Designs have so much character they just speak for themselves and don't require a lot of fanfare.
Today I created a clean and simple card using the Caffeinated Bee. The bee is definitely my favorite caffeinated critter of all of them! If you haven't checked out The Rabbit Hole Designs yet, it might be time for a visit!

Here's the quick and easy recipe for my card:

1) Cut out a panel of Bristol Smooth card stock using the largest die from the Stitched Rectangle Zig Zag dies from Kat Scrappiness and sponge on a circle of Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink in a loose circle near the bottom right of the card.

2) Run panel through a beehive style embossing folder for some added texture

3) Add embossed panel to a teal colored card base. I chose one to match the Peacock Feathers ink.

4) Stamp the Caffeinated Bee using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on to some Copic friendly paper and color using Copic markers. Stamp your sentiment under the bee.  I used a sentiment from The Rabbit Hole Designs Perfectly Blended stamp set.

5) Cut bee and sentiment out using a die from the Kat Scrappiness Zig Zag Circle Dies and pop it up on foam tape on your embossed panel.

That's it, easy peasy lemon squeezy!
Sometimes I love making a quick and easy card that packs a lot of punch!
Here's one more pic with the supplies used.

Thanks so much for joining me today!
Have a great day, I already am!

A 4x6 stamp set including 2 ribbon designs and 8 sentiments

1 package of pink blend confetti style sequins (not pictured above)
1 Rabbit Hole Designs enamel pin (not pictured above)

The bundle is available now but supplies are limited so if you want
all these goodies to be yours than click this link and head over there now!

I did get my hands on this fabulous package of pink goodness and I have a couple
of cards to share with you today!

For my first card I decided to make a shaker card using the pretty pink sequins in the
bundle.  I stamped one of the beautiful ribbon images in soft pink and put it behind
my shaker window then added some pretty pink sequins from the bundle and some silver
ones from my stash. Shaker cards are one of my very favorite types of card to make.

I love how elegant that ribbon looks inside the lacy frame!
I finished off the card with a sentiment from the set embossed in silver.

For my second card I decided that our little friend the Caffeinated Bee
would look really cute all colored up in pink!
She is definitely Fearless with her little cup of caffeine!

I also used the Circles and Stars stencil for the background of my card.
I just love how the word Fearless looks stamped in black over the ribbon.
That little Bee always cracks me up!

As always thanks so much for stopping by the blog and if you want your
very own Fearless Bundle than head over to the shop because it won't be there forever!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Good morning crafty friends!
Today is my day on the Rabbit Hole blog and
it just so happens to be my 50th birthday as well!
I thought it would be fun to make a birthday card in my honor!
It's been a rough week for me so it's kind of appropriate that these
guys aren't smiling.
Putting party hats on their heads just made
me laugh since they don't look like they are in a party mood.
My 13 year old son is just getting over the flu and my dad has been in
the hospital since Mother's Day so the mood around here hasn't been
very happy. I'm ready to put it all behind me and
get everyone healthy again!

All in all though I really like how the card came out, the rainbow
letters really stand out against the black and white background.
Here is a list of all the caffeinated critters used on my card:

Thanks for joining me today for my birthday, I hope you enjoyed
my card, these caffeinated critters really can be used for any
type of card you want to make..... just change up your sentiment.

Tag You're It Challenge #84

I found a new challenge today from my friend Amy
that I think I'm really going to enjoy!
It's called the Tag You're It Challenge and it's a challenge
devoted to making tags with different themes.
Although I love making cards, I really enjoy
making tags even more because they are quick and easy
to throw together and they are mini versions of cards.

It just so happens that this week the TYIC theme is coffee.
I recently started designing for The Rabbit Hole Designs and
I knew their caffeinated critters would be the perfect stamps
to use for this challenge! The Caffeinated Bee was waiting on my desk
for a home and I found one!
I used a coffee bean stencil for the background of my tag and
a sentiment from a Technique Tuesday stamp set.
It actually came together pretty quickly and I love
how it turned out!
I'll definitely be playing along with this challenge again!

Thanks for "buzzing" by today!
Enjoy your day, I already am!

Caffeinated Bee Spinner Cards

Good morning crafty friends and welcome to my blog!
Today I am up on The Rabbit Hole Designs blog with my last post as a guest
designer for the month of March.
It's been so much fun guest designing for this great new company!
I just adore their fun and quirky stamps! Make sure to check them out!
I have 2 fun spinner cards for you.
I used the Rabbit Hole Caffeinated Bee stamp to make an
interactive spinner card and I decided to do it 2 different ways.

The first card has the spinner on the front of the card and when
the card is opened it spins around on a string.
I mirror stamped the bee on both cards so I could have the identical
symmetrical image on both sides of the spinner.

There are many YouTube videos showing the construction of a spinner card.
They are actually quite easy to make and they look very impressive when
opened by the recipient.
Here is a link to another spinner card I made recently,
I used a bunny for the spinner but the construction is the same.
***Bunny Spinner Card***

The second card has the spinner on the inside of the card but essentially
acts the same way with the bee spinning wildly when the card is opened.

Here are 2 short videos showing the mechanism of the
spinner when the cards are opened.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
I hope you enjoyed my cards and maybe you'll
give the spinner card a try!

I have four cards to share with you today using these
fabulous new stamp sets.

The first card features the Caffeinated Bee and
he's buzzing in on his
honeycomb embossed card to say hi.

Bee Card Details
  • Stamp bee and color with your favorite markers or pencils then cut out with scissors or electronic cutting machine.
  • Stencil honeycomb pattern on paper with yellow ink and cut a circle out from pattern using the second largest Double Stitched Circle dieInk edges with black ink.
  • Cover lower half of card base with black and white polka dot patterned paper, cover top half of card with honeycomb embossed white paper. Cut decorative edge on embossed panel with the Stitched Scalloped Border dies
  • Pop embossed panel up on foam tape.
  • Stamp #buzzed sentiment on yellow Stitched Flag Die and adhere with foam tape to lower right side of card base.

For my second card I used the Caffeinated Crab and
he's having his morning
coffee on a fun shaker card.

Crab Card Details
  • Stamp crab and color with your favorite markers or pencils then cut out by hand or electronic cutter.
  • Next on a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of smooth card stock, ink blend some Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers distress ink then sprinkle with droplets of water for underwater theme.  Stamp bubbles from the So-Fishticated stamp set randomly over panel. Adhere panel to card base.
  • Die cut Stitched diagonal backdrop die from Kraft paper and adhere acetate to back of panel. Build up back of acetate with foam tape to allow shaker guts to move around freely.
  • Mix up your favorite assortment of sequins and pour onto card base then place diagonal backdrop die over sequins.
  • Die cut Stitched Sentiment Strip in kraft paper and stamp sentiment in black ink. Cut strip from leftover background paper and mat sentiment strip on it.
  • Stamp #crabby on kraft paper, distress edges and hand cut to appear as a small sign, place on thin rectangle to act as sign post.
  • Pop crab up on foam tape over sign.

For my third card I used the Caffeinated Flamingo
and she's surrounded
by a tropical jungle looking #flahmazing!

Flamingo Card Details
  • Start by die cutting the 2 largest Wonky Wavy Stitched Rectangle dies out while nested in one another to create a frame. Shade frame with Spun Sugar Distress Ink and spray with water droplets for a soft effect.
  • Cut smooth white card stock panel to fit behind frame and use Broken China Distress Ink to blend over panel, spray with water droplets for a soft effect.
  • Take frame and background pieces and leaves and splatter with white paint randomly.
  • Cut smooth white card stock panel and ink blend Twisted Citron and Cracked Pistachio Distress Inks to cover panel then cut some random leaf dies out of panel, spray with water droplets for a soft effect as with frame and background panel.
  • Take frame, background panel and leaves and cover with white splattered paint.
  • Stamp sentiment on to Broken China background panel and adhere to card base.
  • Apply leaves randomly to frame before adhering over background panel.
  • Pop that tired flamingo up on some foam tape and bling up your card with some Clear Jewels for some sparkle and shine!

My last project features the Easter Bounty stamp set.
I used these stamps to make a shaker tag and a milk
carton treat box.

Easter Bounty Project Details

  • The first thing I did was to stamp the 2 bunnies and their coordinating accessories with Gina K Amalgam ink and I used my copic markers to color all of them.
  • For the tag I used a Pretty Pink Posh tag die to create a shaker tag.  I used 2 different Kat Scrappiness sequins inside the tag: Sun Kissed and Magical Unicorn mixes.
  • The milk carton was made with the Lawn Fawn milk carton die and I cut the grass with a Lawn Fawn grass die as well.  I made a stencil with the Lawn Fawn cloud die so I could add some clouds to the carton with Broken China distress ink.
  • To finish off both projects I added coordinating bows to them and for the milk carton I used a mini clothespin to hold the bow in place.

WHEW! That was a lot of inspiration for one blog post!
