SHAKE, RATTLE & ROLL

I'm up on the Kat Scrappiness  blog today and we are going to
SHAKE, RATTLE AND ROLL!
For those of you who don't know, Kat Scrappiness has a HUGE assortment of
Sequins and Sprinkles and the collection has recently expanded!
Today I wanted to share 1 card and 3 tags with you using 7 different varieties
of sequins and sprinkles from the shop!

Look at those fun sequins and sprinkles!!  Honestly the possibilities are endless!
Let me show you what I made with those beauties!
The first project is a card I made for my Mom's birthday.
She is a huge fan of cupcakes..... the cuter the better!
The Lawn Fawn Stitched Cupcake Dies were the perfect dies to use for her card.

The Kat Scrappiness Stitched Scalloped Square Dies were the perfect dies to create the
frame for this shaker tag. For the clear portion behind the frame I used the
Lawn Fawn Acetate Sheets. Once the frame was made I filled it with the
To complete the sentiment on my card I used the Sweet Word Sentiment Die.
I die cut it out of pink paper and backed it in another layer cut with brown
paper to give it a matted look and make it stand out more.

I loved adding the second layer on the cupcakes to make it look like the frosting
was dripping down.  My mom LOVED her card and I LOVED making it for her!

The next 3 projects are shaker tags that I made using more of the fun
sprinkles and sequins from the shop.
Since I couldn't get enough of those cute Lawn Fawn Stitched Cupcake Dies,
I made a tag using the cupcake and I cut the frame out using some Doodlebug
patterned paper from the Stitched Scalloped Nesting Tag Dies.

I stamped the sentiment in pink and yellow ink from the Lawn Fawn Tiny Tag Sayings
stamp set inside my shaker tag. I love how the sentiments are hidden by the shaker bits
until you shake them out of the way!

For this shaker tag I used the Sweet Candy Sprinkles and the Cupcake Sprinkles to fill it up with.
I also added some Pink Solid Confetti Mix to the outside front of the shaker tag.

The last 2 tags I have to share with you are from a fun planner meet up that my daughter
Taylor hosted recently.  They decided to do a make and take project and thanks to
Mona Toth, I had the idea to dress up mini mason jar cups with a sweet shaker tag!
You can see Mona's sweet project on Instagram here.

These sweet tags were made using the Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Dies for the frame
and some vellum for the base.  To fill these 2 tags I used some glitter and Watermelon Sprinkles
on one and some Pink Flower Sprinkles in the other.

To decorate the fronts of these tags I used the Lawn Fawn "Flamingo Together" stamp set
and the Lawn Fawn Aloha Stamp and Die Set for the pineapple and sunglasses.
The girls had a great time making these tags and everybody took their creations home
to enjoy! Here is a link to the Instagram post with all of the pictures from the event.
Here's my little secret....... we had a very dear friend of Kat's at our little meet up
to make a shaker tag and have some fun with us!
My second little secret is that Taylor made the second tag with
the Pink Flower Sprinkles and she had a lot of fun doing it!
All the girls had a blast using their very own mixture of different sequins and shakers!

WHEW! That was a long post with lots of pictures but I had so much to share
with you!  I hope I have inspired you to do a little
SHAKING, RATTLING AND ROLLING YOURSELF!
There are certainly enough shaker bits to choose from in the Kat Scrappiness
store to make some fun and unique projects!

The Rabbit Hole Designs July Release Day 3

Welcome back for day 3 of The Rabbit Hole Designs release!

Today as promised we are going to have some Narly fun!
The third stamp set that has been released for July is called Caffeinated Narwhal  !
This stamp set has one very tired Narwhal and a snarky sentiment to match!
And in true Rabbit Hole form, it also includes one caffeine molecule and a hashtag
#stabby stamp. It's the next fun addition in the Caffeinated Critters line.
Take a look:

I have two fun cards to share with you featuring that tired Narwhal.
I heard a folk song about Narwhals and it said that Narwhals were Unicorns that didn't
make it on to Noah's ark so they shed their hooves and grew tails and started swimming
around.  Kind of a funny explanation for this odd creature.  I like it :-)
Here are my 2 cards for today:

I used a sentiment from the Sassy Sentiments stamp set on the second card
with the watercolor background.

The Rabbit Hole Designs July Release Day 2

Welcome back for day 2 of The Rabbit Hole Designs release!
Today as promised we are going to get Catty!
The second stamp set to be released for July is called Cattitude!
This stamp set has 4 of the cutest kitties with some great sentiments to match!
Take a look:

Cattitude
I really had fun creating my cards for this set!  Cats are my favorite animal and I always
owned one growing up.  Right now I have 2 cats named Poppers and Ginger and they love to
help me craft! Ok not so much helping but more like laying all over my supplies pretending
to help.  They make me laugh every day!

Here is my 2 cards for today!

My second card in gray was actually inspired by a nightgown I own with a similar pattern.
I love the pink and white accents!

Coffee Date with a Sloth

Hello Coffee Lovers!
It's my day on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog and we are in my
*ICU, so grab a cup of "SLOFFEE" and
I'll share my card with you.

It seems that sloths are all the rage these days and I can see why!
They really are adorable and I'm thinking they probably need coffee more than
anyone! Although if they truly did drink coffee they probably wouldn't move so slow.
Anyway, here is my card for today.

  • I started with a piece of Bristol Smooth card stock and die cut it with the largest die from the Kat Scrappiness Distressed Edge Rectangle dies. To me that edge gives it a sort of jungle look.
  • Next I used Antique Linen and Twisted Citron distress inks to do some ink blending on the die cut panel. I stamped my leaves from the Hello Bluebird - Jungle Littles on the panel and adhered it to a brown A2 card base.
  • The Star Frame die from Avery Elle was the perfect anchor for my coffee drinking sloth.
  • I colored the sloth from the La La Land - Take it Sloth stamp set with my Copic markers and used my Scan n Cut to cut him out.
  • For a few pretty finishing touches I adhered some Kat Scrappiness Brown Jewels around the card.
Thanks for joining me today in my ICU! If you're feeling like this sloth
grab a cup of coffee and get into your craft room! That always makes me feel better!
Have a great day, I already am!

The Rabbit Hole Designs July Release Day 1

Welcome to the July Release of The Rabbit Hole Designs!
Let me just say that all of you Cat and Dog lovers are in for a real treat with this
release because there are 2 new stamp sets coming out with the most adorable
cat and dog images with some punny sentiments to match!
For those of you who are not a cat or a dog lover, The Rabbit Hole has a
caffeinated Narwhal for you guys! He is a real hoot!
For day one of the release the design team is focusing on the first stamp set called
Doggone.  This stamp set has 5 different doggies to choose from with several sentiments
to customize your cards.  There is truly something for everyone in this set.
Here is a look at this set:

I made 2 cards using this stamp set.
Here is the first one:

For this card I cut some patterned paper out with the largest die in the
from Kat Scrappiness and adhered it to a kraft colored card base.
Next I cut down a kraft colored piece of card stock just slightly smaller
than the patterned paper and embossed it with a paw print embossing folder.
For my sentiment I used some die cut letter from my stash to spell out
"I" and "YOU" in black.  I then cut out the word "Woof" in red from the
Kat Scrappiness Pet Sentiments Brush Script Words set to complete the saying.
I added the sentiment from the Doggone set to some patterned paper and popped it up
on foam tape to the top of the card.
The cute little doggie was stamped and colored with Copic markers and his scarf
was paper pieced with patterned paper.

For my next card I decided to go with a red, white and black theme.

I started by adhering a piece of black and white patterned paper to my card base.
I cut down the red panel to 5 1/4" x 4" and stamped the dog bone and paw prints from the
Doggone stamp set and I glued some Paw Print Sprinkles from Kat Scrappiness
in the blank spots.  I decided to leave that cute doggie in black and white to match the theme.
I stamped the sentiment on to a Stitched Fishtail Banner die, also from Kat Scrappiness.
This card came together pretty quickly and I like how you can make your own background
with the small images from the stamp set.

Let me tell you a few important things pertaining to this release to save you some money.

Mermaid Love

Hello again and welcome to another mer-mazing day on my blog!
Today I am up on The Rabbit Hole Designs blog and I have a mer-mazing shaker card to share with you using the newly released stamp set Mermaid Hair. I just love
that sweet mermaid and she literally
looks good on any card you put her on.  Since my favorite type of card to make is a shaker card
I knew that's where she belonged.  For my sentiment I used the previously released
Sofishticated stamp set.  Here are the details for my card.

Card Recipe

  • Start with white A2 card base cut to 11 1/2" x 4 1/4" and fold in half at 5 1/2"
  • Cut panel of Strathmore Bristol Smooth card stock down to 5 1/4" x 4" and dry emboss with scalloped embossing folder.
  • Sponge Distress Inks in 3 different colors over embossed panel in Wilted Violet, Mermaid Lagoon and Peacock Feathers, blending where colors overlap. Adhere embossed panel to base of card.
  • Die cut scalloped rectangle frame for top of card and back with clear acetate. Once acetate is secure to back of frame, build up foam tape around frame border to house your shaker bits.
  • (Optional step) Stamp, color and cut several fish from the Mermaid Hair stamp set and glue in place to embossed panel.  I always like some details not to move around on my shaker cards so they are always in view.
  • Next pick out your favorite sequins and shaker bits for the inside of your window.  This is the fun part because you can be creative and pick out a fun assortment of sequins, sprinkles and other fun additions. Spread your mix on to the embossed panel towards the center so you can lay your frame down over the top. The sequins and sprinkles I used are from the Kat Scrappiness sequin shop. (Pink Flower Sprinkles, Purple Flower Sprinkles, Blue Flower Sprinkles, Baby Pink Confetti Mix and Pink Heart Confetti)
  • Expose adhesive from foam tape and lay your frame down over the shaker bits making sure to center your frame over your embossed panel.
  • Stamp, color and cut your sweet Mermaid and pop her up on foam tape towards the bottom corner of your card and stamp your sentiment from Sofishticated on to a white banner and adhere to top of card. I also added a few of the flower sprinkles from above to my Mermaid's hair for an extra fun touch!
Now try your own shaker card, they are so much fun to make and they are
even more fun to play with once they're put together!

Thanks for stopping by today, make sure to check out all of
The Rabbit Hole's social media sites for much more inspiration

Paper Sweeties June 2019 New Release Rewind!

Today is Release Rewind over on the Paper Sweeties blog and
this month they are releasing 2 new stamp sets and 1 new die set.
The first one is called Mermaid Wishes and the second one is called
Sea You Soon with matching dies called Sea You Soon Sweet Cuts.
They are available for purchase in the Paper Sweeties shop!

Mermaid Wishes

Sea You Soon

Sea You Soon Sweet Cuts

For today's card I decided to do a little highlight coloring.
I started with a kraft colored card base and layered some colorful Doodlebug
patterned paper on it. The next layer is white card stock and I did some repeat
stamping in black ink with the adorable fish from the Sea You Soon stamp set.
I made sure to stamp some of the fish off the page for a more random and organic
look.  I colored one of the fish in rainbow colors and popped him up over one of
the black and white stamped images.  The rainbow fish really pops against all
of the black and white.  I stamped a sentiment on kraft card stock and added a cluster
of balloons from the Hugs and Kisses stamp set and cut them out with the matching die
I really love how this card came out! Sometimes the simplest techniques have the biggest impact.

I hope you've enjoyed the new release over at Paper Sweeties this month,
I know the DT worked hard to bring you some adorable inspiration using the
new products so make sure to visit each of them to see their projects!

Paper Sweeties June 2019 New Release Party

๐ŸŽถYou want Thing-A-Ma-Bobs? I got 20! But who cares, not big deal, I want more!๐ŸŽถ

Do those song lyrics ring a bell? When my oldest daughter was younger it was a daily
staple in my life! We watched The Little Mermaid a couple of times a day!
Ok little secret, I LOVED THAT MOVIE! Anyway my card today
is honoring Ariel the Mermaid and her 2 friends Flounder and Sebastian!

This month Paper Sweeties is releasing 2 new stamp sets and 1 new die set.
The first one is called Mermaid Wishes and the second one is called
Sea You Soon with matching dies called Sea You Soon Sweet Cuts.
They are available for purchase today in the Paper Sweeties shop!

Mermaid Wishes

Sea You Soon

Sea You Soon Sweet Cuts
For my Little Mermaid inspired card I decided to use one of the Sweeties Girls
stamps.  Miss Madison was the perfect sweetheart to fill in for Ariel today with her
flaming red hair! Her mermaid tail was made with the stamp from Mermaid Wishes.  I stamped her tail and top on to pretty patterned paper and hand cut them out.
I used the Sea You Soon stamp set to color one of the fish stamps in Flounder colors
and of course Sebastian the crab rounded out my trio of friends from the classic movie.
My background was stenciled on with 3 different colors of Distress Inks and I hand
ripped some kraft color card stock for the sand.  I splattered brown ink on to the kraft
paper to make it look like more realistic sand.  The sentiment from the stamp set was stamped
on to a rectangle die cut from the Rectangle Scalloped Frames die and after I trimmed
it, I glued it to the top of the sign die from the Basket Add On dies.

I'm having so much fun with this release and today you too can get your hands
on all of these goodies! I hope you hop along today and see what the rest of the design team
has made to inspire you! Make sure to check back tomorrow for Release Rewind Day
at Paper Sweeties, I have one more Mer-Mazing card to share with you!

Here's a list of all the DT and links to their blogs!
Enjoy!

Paper Sweeties June 2019 New Release Sneak Peeks

Welcome back to my blog crafty friends!
I'm so glad you've stopped by today because Paper Sweeties has 2 new stamp sets
with matching dies that I think you are going to fall in love with!
The first one is called Mermaid Wishes and the second one is called
Sea You Soon with matching dies called Sea You Soon Sweet Cuts.
They will all be available for purchase tomorrow in the Paper Sweeties shop.

Mermaid Wishes
Sea You Soon
Sea You Soon Sweet Cuts

I am so in love with these new sets! They have the sweetest images with dies to match.
The Sea You Soon set has 2 different fish, 1 octopus, 1 clam, 1 seahorse and 1 crab.
There are so many different ways to color them and the matching dies make cutting them
out a breeze!  The Mermaid Wishes stamp set has the cutest mermaid tail and swim suit
top and it fits perfectly on to any of the Sweeties Girls.

For my card today I decided to make a liquid shaker card.
I ran across a great video tutorial from Splitcoast Stampers the other day and it looked like
so much fun I thought I'd give it a try.  The theme of this new release was perfect for a
liquid shaker card. The card uses hair gel to give it a watery look but I think I got a bit
carried away with the hair gel and added too much.
Here is a link to that YouTube video:

Here is a closeup of the card and you can see how it has the look of a watery
backdrop. You can also see how it's almost overflowing, I also added glitter to the hair gel
to give it a sparkly appearance.

I really had fun coloring up all of the fish and friends from the Sea You Soon stamp set
with my Copic Markers and I just love how Emma looks in that sweet mermaid tail from

Thanks for stopping by my blog today, don't forget to
check back tomorrow for Release Day!
