Coffee Date with a Sloth

Hello Coffee Lovers!
It's my day on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog and we are in my
*ICU, so grab a cup of "SLOFFEE" and
I'll share my card with you.

It seems that sloths are all the rage these days and I can see why!
They really are adorable and I'm thinking they probably need coffee more than
anyone! Although if they truly did drink coffee they probably wouldn't move so slow.
Anyway, here is my card for today.

  • I started with a piece of Bristol Smooth card stock and die cut it with the largest die from the Kat Scrappiness Distressed Edge Rectangle dies. To me that edge gives it a sort of jungle look.
  • Next I used Antique Linen and Twisted Citron distress inks to do some ink blending on the die cut panel. I stamped my leaves from the Hello Bluebird - Jungle Littles on the panel and adhered it to a brown A2 card base.
  • The Star Frame die from Avery Elle was the perfect anchor for my coffee drinking sloth.
  • I colored the sloth from the La La Land - Take it Sloth stamp set with my Copic markers and used my Scan n Cut to cut him out.
  • For a few pretty finishing touches I adhered some Kat Scrappiness Brown Jewels around the card.
Thanks for joining me today in my ICU! If you're feeling like this sloth
grab a cup of coffee and get into your craft room! That always makes me feel better!
Have a great day, I already am!

KaDoodle Bug Dragon Cards

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and when it comes to
card making, this is my FAVORITE holiday!
I am a sucker for anything that is pink and involves a good dose
of sparkle, hearts and glitter!
One of the companies that I design cards for is
and recently they added the cutest files to their shop!
It is a collection of 10 of the cutest Valentine themed dragons and
one is cuter than the next!
You can view all of them in the shop right now here.
I have had the delightful opportunity to design a couple of cards
with them and I used these 2 files:
and

The first card I made is with the Heart Balloons Dragon and here it is:

I am smitten with this card and I just love how it came out.
I started with white card stock and I die cut a panel with
one of my favorite dies from Kat Scrappiness called the
Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Dies.  I used the largest die from the pack
because it's the perfect size to fill the front panel of an A2 sized card.
The next step was to die cut some card stock with the cloud die
from Lawn Fawn to make a template that I could use to sponge
some clouds on to my card front.
I used Broken China distress ink and proceeded to sponge it around
the cloud template to form clouds all the way down the panel.
I love the soft look you can get with varying amounts of
pressure applied to the ink tool.
Once I got the clouds the way I wanted I stamped the sentiment from
an Avery Elle stamp set called Handwritten notes and
I added a cute little heart from the Kat Scrappiness stamp
To finish the card off I used some Pretty Pink Jewels
from Kat Scrappiness.
Once all that was complete I added the cute little Dragon from KaDoodle Bug
on some foam tape and the card was done.
Here is a picture with the supplies used.

The second card I made uses the Love Letters Dragon file.
It is a shaker card and it is one of my favorite type of cards to make!

For this card I started with the Kat Scrappiness
It's the perfect die for making shaker cards because it has windows for
shaker bits and you can easily add foam tape to the back of it.
I put some Magical Unicorn Dust sequins and Fuschia Jewels inside the
window and I used vellum instead of acetate for a softer look.
The back panel on the card is some adorable Doodlebug paper
with a Valentines theme.
To decorate the front of the card along with the cute dragon
I die cut the words from the I Love You Shadow dies from
Kat Scrappiness out of pink glitter paper.
Here is a close up of the card so you can see the details.

These 2 cards were so much fun to make and I hope you'll check out
all of the cute files at KaDoodle Bug and the awesome dies and sequins
at Kat Scrappiness! They have any and all craft supplies you could want!

Dreidel Kids

I have another adorable Chanukah card to share with you today.
This is definitely the year for cute Chanukah stamp sets!
On my previous blog post I shared a card made with a Stamping Bella
stamp set and for this card I used a new Chanukah set by Neat and Tangled.
OMG it's soooooo cute!
I'm in love with these darling little Dreidel kids!!!
Here's the card I made with the Darling Dreidels stamp set.

I colored them with copic markers and cut them out with my Scan n Cut machine.
The gold star wreath is a die from Avery Elle called Star Frame die.
I love how the star wreath looks against the star embossed background!
These little cuties are coming to the Kat Scrappiness store soon!
If you want to do some shopping there in the meantime you can save 10% by using
my code Lisa10 at checkout. There is a ton of crafty items for sale in Kat's shop and
she has every color, shape and size sequin you could ask for!
There are also the most beautiful jewels in ALL colors!

CAS(E) this sketch challenge #254

Happy Saturday everyone!  Today I am playing along with the CAS(E) this sketch challenge #254
Here is the sketch for this week.

I needed a focal point for my card and that's where Jennifer comes in.  When I can't sleep at night (which is every night) I sit up in bed watching YouTube videos on card making... isn't that what we all do?  Anyway, one of my favorite card makers is Jennifer McGuire and one of the things that I love about her videos is that they are easy to follow.  She makes you feel like you can do any technique she does.  Sometimes it actually works out, like today for example.  I fell in love with her inside out cards and I had to give it a try this morning.  I am absolutely in love with this card and I can't wait to make some more!  I pulled out an old loved stamp set from Avery Elle called "Furry Friends" and I chose the cute dog that looks like my dog Sophie and did some basic copic coloring.  The cute little dog is on the second layer of the card but he peeks through the front of the card, SO CLEVER!  This was such a fun card to make, not too difficult but with stunning results!  The two pictures show the front and inside of the card.  The "Happy Birthday" sentiment is from an older Reverse Confetti stamp set called "Lots To Say".  Here is my card for the challenge, enjoy your weekend and get some crafting time in!
Have a great day!
I already am!
