A Hug in a Mug

Hello Coffee Lovers and welcome back to my blog!
I'm up on the Coffee Loving Cardmaker's blog today with some more
caffeinated inspiration in my ICU!

Today's card was actually inspired by a baby blanket I saw recently at work.
For those of you who don't already know, I actually work in a NICU.
That is a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
We take care of some pretty sick babies and it can get pretty intense at times.
Parents often bring in clothes and blankets for the babies and it is
a nice change from the hospital issued laundry.
As you can imagine I see my fair share of cute baby patterns and
recently there was a blanket that was made from pink plush material
and it had gold accents on it.  I fell in love and knew I wanted to recreate
that look on a card! Here is what I came up with:

I just love the look of gold sparkle on a pink background! It's so elegant!
After Amy the enabler recently shared a Hero Arts stamp set in the Coffee Lovers
Facebook group I knew I had to have it so of course I ordered it straight away!
The stamp set is the Hero Arts Monthly Hero Kit from August 2018.
It is coffee themed and choc full of caffeinated goodness!
I fell in love with the image and sentiment from the set
and I knew they would look so elegant on vellum!

Here is the Card Recipe:

-I started out with a piece of Simon Says Stamp Cotton Candy Card Stock
and I used a Kat Scrappiness Stitched Scalloped Rectangle die to cut a panel from it.

-Next I used the Feathered stencil from Taylored Expressions and I used Pixie Spray
to hold it in place on my pink card stock.

-Then I took my Versamark Ink Pad and swiped it all over the stencil making
sure to get good coverage in all the openings.

-Once I peeled the stencil back to reveal the feathered pattern I sprinkled
some Ranger Gold Embossing Powder all of the ink and shook it off.
I hit the powder with my Hero Arts Wagner heat gun until the powder was melted.
I just love to watch that transformation as it happens!
I adhered the pink embossed panel on to an A2 sized card base

-Next I cut die cut a piece of Bazzill Vellum with the Papertrey Ink
Basic Bookmark 3 die. I used the coffee cup and sentiment from the
Hero Arts Monthly Hero Kit from August 2018 and stamped them in
Versamark Ink . I coated the images in Alabaster embossing powder by
Brutus Monroe and heat set it with my heat gun until the powder was melted.
For the detail in the coffee cup I used the Ranger Gold Embossing Powder.

-It's tricky to adhere vellum without seeing the adhesive so I used a few
tiny Glue Dots to adhere the vellum on to the pink card panel.
The seam binding bow from Paper Sweeties was held in place with a larger
Glue Dot and that kept the vellum down a little better and could be hidden.

-I finished the card off with some sparkly Pink Blush Jewels from Pretty Pink Posh.
I used Nuvo adhesive to hold the jewels in place.

I just love how delicate this card looks and I love the gold
embossing on pink!
Thank you for stopping by my blog today!
Have a great day, I already am!
