A Cup of Patience

Well is Christmas Eve 2019 and here we are Coffee Lovers!
I'm up on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog today with a cup of patience.

Let me explain why this is actually a cup of patience...

Many of you are scurrying around and getting ready to have
company over or preparing yourselves to head out to family and friends.
Either way Christmas is a holiday filled with lots and lots and lots of people!!!
You know what that means......... some you love and some...... not so much......

Some of you will need extra patience today to deal with all the
personalities you will encounter today so this card is for you!

This card just looks like just another holiday coffee card but when you pull
out the tag from inside it reveals a super funny sentiment
perfect for those of you who need just a little chuckle today...

I laughed so hard when I saw this sentiment from the Hot Coffee stamp set
from CAS-ual Fridays and I knew that it would
be the perfect stamp to use for this sometimes stressful season.

I started off with the new Coffee Gift Card Holder Die from My Creative Time
and instead of inserting a gift card I decided to add my sentiment on a tag
that you could pull out. I decorated the cup with some fun holiday
Doodlebug Christmas Town patterned paper to match the poinsettia flowers.
I just love these beautiful Layering Poinsettia dies from Hero Arts. I used some Festive Berries
Distress Oxide Ink for the flowers and Mowed Lawn for the leaves.
I die cut the center of the leaves out in gold foil cardstock.

Here is a closeup of the beautiful flowers:

Thank you so much for joining me on the morning of Christmas Eve 2019
for a little cup of patience. I hope this card and post put a smile on your face
and gives you a little boost of patience to face those friends and family
that require just a little more patience!
Happy Holidays and enjoy your day,
I already am!

A Cup of Joy

Welcome back to my blog and my "ICU"
Today I am over on The Coffee Loving Cardmaker's blog
with a Cup of Holiday Joy!
Here in Florida we don't really get the frigid cold that they experience
up North but we do get our share of "chilly" days and that's when
you see everyone in boots with a red Starbucks cup in hand!

My caffeinated inspiration for today's card comes from
all of the festive to go coffee cups we see at this time of year.
Here is a picture of a to go coffee cup I saw at Target recently
and I wanted to recreate that same look on a card.

I began with a red card base and layered the 2 largest dies from the

For my coffee cup I chose my favorite die,
the Kat Scrappiness Layered Coffee Cup Die and I cut it from red foil cardstock.
The lid was cut from some beautiful white glitter cardstock.
I find it easiest to apply the accents on the coffee cup lid with the
Xyron Sticker Maker. Since the lid was cut from glitter cardstock
I knew the sticker maker would really help to stick my pieces in place.

To decorate the front of the cup like the Target cup I used
the gorgeous Simon Says Stamp Lea Snowflake Die cut from the same
glitter cardstock as the lid of the cup. I just love the shimmer from that paper!

Once I had the coffee cup all decorated it was time to add some festive
holly to the card.  I used the Kat Scrappiness Holly Leaves and Berry Dies
to add a pop of green to my card and I cut them out using foil cardstock
to match the cup. I just love these holly leaves and berry dies
because they come in a variety of different sizes.

All that was left to do was to add a sentiment.
I knew it had to be small one because the cup and holly took up so much
room on the front of the card.
I found the perfect small circular die in my stash in the
Spellbinders Hipster 1 Dies and I cut it out of red foil and heat embossed

I really love how festive this card came out and I hope it brings
some early holiday joy into your day!

Have a wonderful day, I already am!

A Latte Love

Welcome back to my blog crafty friends.
It's my day on the Coffee Loving Cardmaker's blog again today and I have
another card for you full of caffeinated inspiration.
Today I am using the super cute BFF Owl stamp from Picket Fence Studios.
I just love that cute little Owl with her pearls around her neck and
that sweet bow in her hair.

I recently ordered the Gracielle Designs Coffee Lovers Paper Pack from Unity Stamp Co
and I've been dying to use it.  I thought it made the perfect background for this card.
After I stamped and colored that precious owl with my Copic markers, I popped her up
on a Stitched Scalloped Rectangle die cut from Kat Scrappiness.  I inked the edges of the
scalloped rectangle to really make it stand out against the patterned paper.
The sentiment is from the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Kit from August 2018.
That kit is full of awesome coffee themed images and sentiments
including dies to match.
It's on sale now over at Hero Arts! It even includes a cute little die for a coffee stand!
I added a sweet sheer blue blow to give my fancy owl a little something extra.

I hope you enjoyed my card for today and I hope you'll come back again soon
to see what's brewing in Lisa's ICU!

Have a great day, I already am!

A Hug in a Mug

Hello Coffee Lovers and welcome back to my blog!
I'm up on the Coffee Loving Cardmaker's blog today with some more
caffeinated inspiration in my ICU!

Today's card was actually inspired by a baby blanket I saw recently at work.
For those of you who don't already know, I actually work in a NICU.
That is a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
We take care of some pretty sick babies and it can get pretty intense at times.
Parents often bring in clothes and blankets for the babies and it is
a nice change from the hospital issued laundry.
As you can imagine I see my fair share of cute baby patterns and
recently there was a blanket that was made from pink plush material
and it had gold accents on it.  I fell in love and knew I wanted to recreate
that look on a card! Here is what I came up with:

I just love the look of gold sparkle on a pink background! It's so elegant!
After Amy the enabler recently shared a Hero Arts stamp set in the Coffee Lovers
Facebook group I knew I had to have it so of course I ordered it straight away!
The stamp set is the Hero Arts Monthly Hero Kit from August 2018.
It is coffee themed and choc full of caffeinated goodness!
I fell in love with the image and sentiment from the set
and I knew they would look so elegant on vellum!

Here is the Card Recipe:

-I started out with a piece of Simon Says Stamp Cotton Candy Card Stock
and I used a Kat Scrappiness Stitched Scalloped Rectangle die to cut a panel from it.

-Next I used the Feathered stencil from Taylored Expressions and I used Pixie Spray
to hold it in place on my pink card stock.

-Then I took my Versamark Ink Pad and swiped it all over the stencil making
sure to get good coverage in all the openings.

-Once I peeled the stencil back to reveal the feathered pattern I sprinkled
some Ranger Gold Embossing Powder all of the ink and shook it off.
I hit the powder with my Hero Arts Wagner heat gun until the powder was melted.
I just love to watch that transformation as it happens!
I adhered the pink embossed panel on to an A2 sized card base

-Next I cut die cut a piece of Bazzill Vellum with the Papertrey Ink
Basic Bookmark 3 die. I used the coffee cup and sentiment from the
Hero Arts Monthly Hero Kit from August 2018 and stamped them in
Versamark Ink . I coated the images in Alabaster embossing powder by
Brutus Monroe and heat set it with my heat gun until the powder was melted.
For the detail in the coffee cup I used the Ranger Gold Embossing Powder.

-It's tricky to adhere vellum without seeing the adhesive so I used a few
tiny Glue Dots to adhere the vellum on to the pink card panel.
The seam binding bow from Paper Sweeties was held in place with a larger
Glue Dot and that kept the vellum down a little better and could be hidden.

-I finished the card off with some sparkly Pink Blush Jewels from Pretty Pink Posh.
I used Nuvo adhesive to hold the jewels in place.

I just love how delicate this card looks and I love the gold
embossing on pink!
Thank you for stopping by my blog today!
Have a great day, I already am!
