PTI Blog Hop and SSS Anything Goes Challenge

Ok two posts in one day, I'm having way too much fun!  I decided to play along at the Simon Says Stamp Challenge and the theme is anything goes using Impression Obsession Stamps.  My projects almost always include Papertrey Ink cardstock so when I designed my card on an angle I decided to enter it into the PTI blog hop over at Nichole's Blog.  The base of the card is PTI Hawaiian Shores and the Instant Camera Die is cut from Raspberry Fizz cardstock. I just recently got 2 Impression Obsession stamps so when I saw the challenge over at SSS, I knew I wanted to play along.  I saw this technique in the Pattern Play online card class and wanted to try it out.  The two IO stamps are Herringbone and Spatter.  I inked the Herringbone stamp with Hero Arts wet cement and the Spatter stamp with Pool Party by SU and then a second time with Hibiscus Burst from PTI.  I love the look of the two stamps together.  The typewriter stamp is from Mama Elephant and I just love that adorable image!  I also decided to back the typewriter up against my new Lil Inker Instant Camera Die.  I needed to mute the background so I placed vellum behind the die and the typewriter really stood out after that.  I finished the card off with some enamel dots and some washi tape and a lone heart smothered in glossy accents for a shiny finish!  I really love how this card turned out.
I hope you all are enjoying your day as much as I am!

Papertrey Ink April 2013 Blog Hop

Good morning everyone! Today I got to play along with the Papertrey April Blog Hop.  The theme this month is to create a project that features something tilted.  Nichole's blog is busy this morning with everyone adding their projects and I can't wait to see them all! Today I had fun with the new Big Ticket Basics stamps and dies.  For some extra added pattern and color I matted the ticket on some pretty polka dot paper.  I also die cut some small arrows from the Sketched Shape dies in Raspberry Fizz and Hawaiian Shores cardstock for some extra added fun!  Everything on this card is tilted different ways for the blog hop theme and it was actually a lot of fun to not line things up straight for once.  I also experimented with some colorful misting on the wood grain cardstock panel.  Here is my colorfully tilted card!
Ok that's all for now!  Have a great day everyone!
I already am!

Simon Says Stamp 4 Year Celebration

*MY APOLOGIES*

Good morning stampers and bloggers.  I hope you are enjoying your day!  I made a fun card today to share for the Simon Says Stamp challenge blog.  They are celebrating their 4 year birthday and I made a congratulations card for them.  I got my inspiration from Kristina Werner.  She is an amazing designer and I love to watch her videos.  She is so creative and such a great teacher!  Today on the Simon Says Stamp Blog, she created a Congrats card using a watercolor technique using Tim Holtz distress inks and it looked like fun!  I thought I'd watercolor a Sizzix Star die cut for my own congrats card.  I used the Simon Says Stamp Tilted Banner Sayings with matching dies.  The banner is so cute the way it pops up off the card.  I used Broken China and Worn Lipstick distress inks to watercolor the star.  I finished it off with some pink and blue twine tied diagonally across the star.  And for my finishing touch, in true Kristina style, I put black dash lines all around the star.  I just love that look.
Here is the card.

Have a great day everyone!
