Happy Halloween

***EDITED TO ADD LINK TO ***
click here→ FALL CRAFTERS ESSENTIALS DIES

It's my turn today on the Kat Scrappiness blog and I have a cute Halloween card to share with you.
I'm not a fan of the scary, creepy side of Halloween so I usually make projects that are more cute in nature.  The card I am sharing with you today is just that!
It has some very happy little pumpkins and a not so scary scarecrow!

I used the new Fall Crafters Essentials dies that will be available at Kat Scrappiness very soon!
This set of dies comes with 8 different fall themed dies and you will love every one of them!

There is a scarecrow, a bat, a moon, a tree, a fence, a pumpkin, a fishtail banner and a separate stitched panel die that measures approximately 4" x 5 1/4".
The panel die has a maple leaf in it so it's like getting 2 dies in 1.

This die set will surely become a staple in your collection quickly!
It can be used for so many types of cards such as Fall, Winter, Halloween, Thanksgiving and with a little bit of snow that tree could find its way on to a Christmas card!
I am also picturing that little fence on a Spring or Summer card as well!

To give my card some extra detail I dry embossed the white background with an swirly embossing folder from my stash to give the look of a windy fall day.  I cut my fence out of some wood grain patterned paper and my scarecrow was die cut from a watercolor panel I made for another card.

Check back on October 12th to see how I made that watercolor panel.
There will be a video as well showing the technique.

I finished my card off with a Happy Halloween sentiment from the Kat Scrappiness
Toil and Trouble stamp set.

Thanks for joining me today and I hope you'll check out these new
Fall Crafters Essentials dies soon, I know you will love them!

National Coffee Day Blog Hop

Hello Coffee Lovers!  This month Kat Scrappiness is hopping along with the
2018 National Coffee Day Blog Hop!

This month at Kat Scrappiness there is a new stamp set called Let's Get Caffeinated and it has 6 fun coffee themed sentiments.
You will also find 3 different size coffee bean images and one cute heart!

For my card I used the sentiment "COFFEE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT MEAL OF THE DAY" and I paired it with some really cute stamps from the Gerda Steiner Coffee Monster stamp set which are also available in the Kat Scrappiness shop.

Personally I like a little bit of coffee in my cream but that's just me...
πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

To make the background of the card I took some Bristol Smooth card stock and placed a Heidi Swapp chevron stencil over it.  I used 3 different color Distress Inks to sponge over the stencil.

I love how well these colors blended together!

When I peeled the stencil off of the paper I took the small coffee cup stamp from the Coffee Monster set and stamped it evenly among the chevrons.  I also colored the hearts on the coffee cups with Zig Markers to match the Distress Inks as closely as possible.  I die cut the panel with the largest die from the Kat Scrappiness Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Dies for a finished look and adhered it to a teal blue card base.

NOW FOR THE FUN PART!
COLORING THE MONSTERS!
πŸ–πŸ–πŸ–
I stamped all of the monsters from the set with Gina K Amalgam Ink so I could color them with whatever markers or paint I wanted.
I decided on Zig Markers because I get the best results with blending.
I don't mind coloring a lot of images at once because I can make quick work of cutting them out with this BAD BOY!

MAN I LOVE my Brother Scan N Cut for cutting out stamped images!!  Don't get me wrong... I still love my dies but this machine really cuts down on the tedious process of cutting out multiples of the same images!  It was well worth the investment!

{pay no attention to that poor overused cutting mat}

The only thing left to do was prepare my sentiment and adhere it to my card base!  I stamped it onto the same color paper as my card base with Versafine Black Onyx Ink and then heat embossed it with clear powder to give it a shiny appearance.  I die cut it out with the second largest die from the Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Dies and adhered it to the center of the card.

I picked out two of the monsters that yelled and stomped the loudest and popped them up on foam tape on the top and bottom of the sentiment and my card was DONE!

Phew!!! That was a long post!!

If you are still with me here I have a reward for you.

Frap Bear and PSL's

Hello again, are you ready for some more Fall themed projects?
I'm up again today on the KaDoodle Bug Facebook page with
another adorable design team project!

This just might be the first Fall season ever that I finally try a Pumpkin Spice Latte!
It might be due to this adorable Frap Bear I found over in the KBD shop
Oh she is so stinkin' cute I can't even stand it!

Since one project was not enough I created 3!
I made the card pictured above using some patterned paper from Papertrey Ink and the Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Dies from Kat Scrappiness.
I stamped the sentiment onto a Stitched Flag Die also from Kat Scrappiness and layered it onto 2 more in orange and black.

The second project is a tag using the print and cut file from the
Frap Bear image in the KaDoodleBug shop.
I die cut a tag out of burlap and added some fun twine and ribbon to the top.
I glittered up the pumpkin and leaves with some sparkly
Stickles just like in the card above.

The 3rd and final project was a dashboard I created for my daughter's planner!
She usually wants one of every cute thing I create!  It sure makes for one cute planner!
I sized the Frap Bear down a bit from it's original size to fit on this dashboard.
The background grid stamp is from Papertrey Ink and the "Oh Frap" sentiment
I cut out using my Brother Scan N Cut and
added some highlights with my white Gelly Roll pen.
I have been loving these pens in the #10 size.
They are so bright and white and they go on smoothly on dark paper!

Well that's all the Pumpkin Spice Latte goodness I have for you today!
I might have to get over to Starbucks, or Dunkin Donuts and finally try one of these
Pumpkin Spice Lattes after all!

Enjoy your day and get in some crafty time today with your PSL's!
I'm headed back to the craft table to enjoy mine!

Best Day Ever!

Those of you who have been around blogland for a while (specifically since 2010) might remember a little old blog named The Shabby Tea Room.  It was a fabulous weekly challenge and it was centered around all things Shabby Chic!  A style that is definitely one of my favorites!

The sweet lady who ran that challenge is none other than the fabulous
Debbie Marcinkiewicz!
Debbie closed down the Shabby Tea Room eventually to start her
popular stamp company Paper Sweeties!
I am happy to say that I loved designing for her in the Tea Room and I'm even more overjoyed to share with you that Debbie has asked me to design for her once again on the
Paper Sweeties design team!

As if that news isn't already fabulous I have more!!!

My daughter Taylor will be joining the Paper Sweeties team as well!
Taylor has been an avid planner for almost 4 years now and makes the most fabulous planner layouts I've ever seen! Taylor will be joining the Planner Series design team with the rest of the planner team!
You can check out her fabulous blog here!

Taylor also has her own YouTube channel where she posts videos of her beautiful planner layouts!
Her channel is called PrettyPaper Pieces 4U and you can check it out here!
Go show Taylor some love and make sure to look for her new designs with the Paper Sweeties planner series stamps!

Taylor and I are very lucky to be joining such a talented bunch of women over at
Paper Sweeties! I thought you might like to check out their beautiful work as well!
Here are links to all of their blogs:

In honor of this announcement I decided to create a card made with the
sweet Madison stamp over in the Paper Sweeties store showing how
I feel about joining the design team!

The cute sentiment is from the I'm So Proud of You stamp set and the
text bubble is from the Handmade For You stamp set.

Madison
is literally peeking into this card to say that this is the Best Day Ever!
I am so happy and grateful to Debbie for giving Taylor and I this wonderful opportunity and I look forward to sharing my Paper Sweeties projects with you!

The October New Release sneak peaks will begin on the 14th so make
sure to check back to see all of the Fall goodness!

That's all for me today, Im happy that you stopped by to share my good news and
I hope you'll stop by again and say hello when you do!

Have a great day, I already am!

Witchy Bears Trio

These 3 cuties just flew into town and they brought treats!!!
They must know me very well!
🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫

I just fell in love with these Witchy Bears the minute I saw them!
You can find them in the KaDoodle Bug Designs online shop and
so many other adorable SVG files at great prices!

I have been enjoying creating with these SVG files!
They are so easy to download and send over to my Scan N Cut machine.
I separate the colors on the screen and then tape the coordinating colors of paper
down to my mat and the machine does the rest!
Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy!

I added some fun gold glitter paper to my Witchy Bears brooms
today and I thought they would look adorable attached to some treat bags
with tiny clothes pins.
Here are some individual pics of the trio!

Wouldn't these be adorable treats to pass out at a kids Halloween party!

Well that's my design team project for today!

Snowflake Kisses

Even though I live in sunny South Florida it doesn't mean I can't play with snow...  Ok not real snow but I do have these sparkly snowflakes in my craft room thanks to Kat Scrappiness!
A few days ago I made a card with an ink blended background and die cut a background panel out of it.
When I was throwing away the leftover negative pieces, the die set Snowflake Kisses popped into my head.
The cool colors just reminded me of snowflakes so I cut out some snowflakes from the scraps!

I wanted a soft background for my snowflakes so I took a Hero Arts stencil that I've had since last year and did some some soft ink blending in the center of my card with the same colors I used on my card. The 3 colors of distress inks I used were:

I love how these 3 colors blended together to give nice cool overall feeling (unlike we will EVER feel here in Florida)!
Ok well maybe for 2 brief days in February!
πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜…
The main die cut for the card is a one piece sentiment that is also from the die set Snowflake Kisses.  The set comes with the sentiment and one small snowflake.

The words were cut from glitter card stock and the inked snowflakes were scattered around the card.  I also included the tiny stars from the center of the snowflakes to fill up the card.
(Waste not want not!)
Lately I've had an obsession with Stickles glitter glue and I thought these snowflakes could use a good dose of sparkle and shine.  I love how they twinkle in the light.  I wish the photo picked it up better.
Here is a picture of all the supplies I used on the card.

This was definitely one of those unexpected cards that I wasn't planning on making but I'm glad I did!

from Kat Scrappiness.

Pumpkin Spice & Everything Nice

It's my turn today on the Kat Scrappiness blog.  Pumpkin Spice season is fast approaching and today's card should put you in the mood!  I wanted to use the Layered Coffee Cup Die to create a Pumpkin Spice Latte card and I thought it would look great against a fall colored background.  To make such a background I decided to watercolor with some Distress Inks.  I took 3 colors, Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade and Peeled Paint and I watercolored a background and then splattered it with black paint.

After it dried I took my Peacock Backdrop Die and cut it out.
The next step was to cut out a piece of brown paper with the Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Die.  I used the 2 largest sizes in the set and I nested them in each other and ran them through my vagabond.  That left me with a frame that I could put around the watercolor panel to finish it off.

Once I had my background done I moved on to creating the coffee cup for the front of the card. I die cut the Layered Coffee Cup Die
in dark brown, the koozie in craft and the top in white. I used a white gel pen to add stitching around the coffee cup and koozie to give it a finished look.
I added a pumpkin die cut from my stash to the front of the koozie. I cut it out in orange paper and  dry embossed it using a polka dot embossing folder to give it some texture.
I thought that this pumpkin could use a little something extra so I popped a dark brown heart to the front for some extra cuteness.

Now that the coffee cup was finished, I needed a little something to adorn the top of the coffee cup. I wrapped a piece of twine around the top of the cup and hand punched the word "enjoy" out with a mini tag punch.  I didn't have the word enjoy in a stamp in a font I liked so I computer generated it.
Now I needed a sentiment so I printed out a cute one using the same font as the little "enjoy" tag.  I layered the sentiment onto a piece of orange card stock.
Inking the edges really allowed it to stand out.

Last but not least I added Orange Jewels all around the sentiment and the
coffee cup for some added sparkle!

If you use the code "Lisa10" in the shop you can save 10% on your order!

All in all I think that this card came out beautiful!
Hope you enjoy!
Have a great day, I already am!

Happy Little Stampers ATC September Challenge

Hello everyone!
I am back again with the

Every month Happy Little Stampers has an ATC challenge and the theme for September is Vintage!  For anyone who isn't familiar with ATC cards, they are mini works of art that measure 2.5" x 3.5" and are traded around the world. Usually they are numbered and signed on the back by the artist.

For my project I created an ATC card complete with a vintage sewing graphic, pretty lace, a piece of a vintage french dictionary page
and a shabby flower.
The sentiment is from a Tim Holtz
idea-ology sticker book.
Here is the card I made for this challenge.

I hope you'll play along with us this month and enter the ATC challenge at
Happy Little Stampers!
The winner for this challenge will receive a $20 coupon to spend at the shop!

IF YOU USE STAMPS BY HAPPY LITTLE STAMPERS AND YOU ARE OUR RANDOM WINNER, YOUR PRIZE WILL BE DOUBLED!

Have a great day, I already am!

Coffee Monster Cards

HAVE YOU SEEN THE MONSTERS?

I just recently found them myself!
These cuties are part of an adorable stamp set by
Gerda Steiner called Coffee Monster.  I had seen these cuties around Facebook and Instagram and I knew I had to have them!
I just bought them at Kat Scrappiness along with
some other crafty goodies!
I was so inspired by these adorable monsters that I made the 3 cards shown above to share with you!
To begin with I stamped all the cuties out on
Bristol Smooth card stock with
Gina K Amalgam Ink so that I could color them with
whatever type of marker I wanted.
Since my Zig markers give me the best blended results I used them for the coloring.
I cut out a bunch of them at once with my Brother Scan n Cut and laid them all out on my desk. There is definitely no lack of mojo when all of those cute monsters are staring back at you.
The ideas for the cards came pretty easily.

For my first card I took some True Black Bitty Big paper from Papertrey Ink and cut it down with one of the Kat Scrappiness
Stitched Scalloped Border dies. I backed the polka dot paper with some craft foam so that it would have some dimension and I added the first monster to the bottom.  I used my craft knife to cut away one of his hands from his body so that he could hold his itty bitty coffee cup under it... so cute!
The sentiment from the Coffee Monster set was stamped at the bottom of the card with Orange Zest ink from Papertrey Ink. For a little bit of extra color and interest I added a few drops of
Nuvo Crystal Drops in blue. I've always loved the look of vibrant colors against a black polka dot background.
Card #1 done!

For my second card I started with some Kraft card stock from Papertrey Ink.  My favorite kraft card stock hands down for color and quality! To give the background some texture and dimension I ran the paper through my vagabond with my
We R Memory Keepers Next Level Quilted embossing folder.
For my focal point I used the Kat Scrappiness
Layered Coffee Cup Die  and popped monster #2 up on the koozie.  I added an itty bitty coffee cup from the stamp set to his hand as well. The Layered Coffee Cup Die is such a great size to take center stage on any card! You can check out this video on my YouTube channel to see instructions on how to assemble the bits and pieces of this coffee cup. For my sentiment I die cut the Kat Scrappiness Got Coffee word die from some PTI Dark Chocolate card stock and added it to the top and bottom corners of the card.
Card #2 done!

For my third and final card I started with some Aqua Mist card stock from PTI for my card base. The card base was given some extra interest with the help of the Cover Up Grid stamp set by PTI. I used a tone on tone effect and used Aqua Mist ink to stamp the grid. Next I took some PTI Kraft card stock and stamped out my own background using the coffee cup from the Coffee Monster stamp set and the largest coffee bean and heart from the Kat Scrappiness Let's Get Caffeinated stamp set. I used PTI's Cocoa Bean ink for all the little background images. The kraft panel was then cut with one of the dies from the Kat Scrappiness Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Dies.  Those are definitely my go to dies for many of the panels on my cards.
I love the scalloped edges!
All that was left was to add my sad monster to the front with foam tape and stamp my sentiment from the Coffee Monster set
underneath him in Versafine Onyx Black Ink
That is definitely my favorite black ink for
crisp black sentiment stamping!
Card #3 done!

I hope you enjoyed these 3 monster cards I've shared today.  Many of the products I used are available in the Kat Scrappiness shop and if you use my code Lisa10 you can save 10% on your order. I will list and link those products below.
