The theme of this blog hop is to show off our happy cards and to make people smile! It is also intended to inspire people to send their hand made cards to friends and loved ones during this time!
Won't it be nice to spread a whole lot of JOY πŸ˜ƒto those that are doing their part, staying home and NOT spreading germs 🦠!

There are 31 amazing sponsors for this hop and they are giving away some terrific prizes!

Today I have 2 happy cards to share with you using products from 3 of the companies that are sponsoring prizes in today's hop! Here are the links to their shops and the prize amounts:

The first card I have for you today is a light up card using the
EZ Lights from Pear Blossom Press and the Rose Heart die from i-crafter.  I placed the EZ lights behind the center of the rose so it would light up when you pressed the button.  I really enjoyed making this an interactive card and what a smile it would bring to someone's face to see their card light up! The Rose Heart die  from i-crafter  is such an intricate beautiful die and is perfect for so many types of cards! The sentiment just says it all, "you brighten my day"! Don't we all need a little brightening no matter what is going on in our lives!

Here is what the card looks like when it is lit up:

And here is the card in action:

For my second card today I am featuring products from the Paper Sweeties April Sweet Kit and I used the sweet bicycle embossing folder with the Hello Sweet Cuts die cut. This card just makes me smile! What could be more fresh and happy than some pretty puffy clouds and a fresh bouquet of flowers in a sweet bicycle basket! I think this card would cheer anyone up who needs it right now!

You should have arrived here from Kathya Kalinine's blog and
Your next stop on the hop is Jessie Banks' blog.

If you get lost along the way you can always visit the Catherine Pooler blog or Hedgehog Hollow blog for a full hop list and details!

Light Up Halloween

Good morning and welcome to my blog, if this isn't your first visit than welcome back!
Today I am up on The Rabbit Hole Designs blog and I have a fun Halloween card to share with you!
You've got to love a holiday that says......"It's ok to combine orange and purple with each other!"
You wouldn't think that these colors would look good together but I just love them
blended next to each other! Maybe it's that they are so opposite, they do say opposites attract!
Anyway, I just love the color combination and I love the way this card turned out!

The best part about this card is the light up pumpkin!
I used the EZ Lights by Pear Blossom Press.
These lights are super easy to use and make easy work of making light up cards!
They consist of one battery pack attached to 3 mini lights.
I placed the 3 lights under the pumpkins eyes and nose.

Here is a quick recipe for my card:

1) I used the largest Wavy Wonky Rectangle die from Kat Scrappiness to cut a
panel out of Bristol Smooth card stock. (I love this paper for blending Distress Oxide Inks)

2) Blend Distress Oxide inks: Carved Pumpkin into Spiced Marmalade on the bottom and
Wilted Violet into Shaded Lilac at the top. Next I spritzed the panel with water using the
Tim Holtz Distress Sprayer and dry to give your background a distressed look.

3) Stamp Happy Halloween from the "Boo To You" stamp set in black
ink at the top of the panel and add the little spider around the words.

4) Add grassy border at the bottom of the panel to ground your card. I used patterned paper
from the Queen and Co Dots Paper Pad and I cut it out using the Lawn Fawn
Grassy Border Die. I also sponged the top of the grass with dark green ink to give it a little depth.

5) Stamp the pumpkin image from "Hey Gord-geous" in Gina K Amalgam Ink
and color in with various Copic Markers. I added Gina K Glitz Glitter Gel to
hat, eyes and mouth for a little sparkle. Die cut pumpkin with matching die.

6) Lastly tape the EZ Light battery pack to a piece of black cardstock measuring
5 1/2" x  4 1/4" and place foam tape all over panel avoiding battery pack.
I placed my battery pack on the bottom left of the card
and threaded the 3 lights up through the bottom right of the main panel. I adhered the
3 small lights to the back of the pumpkin behind the eyes and mouth. I placed my pumpkin on foam tape to leave room for the lights and then I adhered the main panel down to the black panel.
Press purple button on battery pack and prepare to be amazed!

** I added a small half circle over the battery pack and hand wrote
"push here" however there are stamp sets available that already have these sayings.
Here is one by Lawn Fawn:

This card was so much fun to make and the EZ lights make quick work of light up cards!
In no time you can have a fun interactive card that will amaze your recipient!

Coffee Date with Amanda!

Welcome back to my blog crafty friends!
Today I am up on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog with a fun new feature
called "Coffee Date". The design team has been pairing up with a crafty friend
and collaborating together to make similar cards for one post.

Today I'd like to introduce my coffee date to you!
Her name is Amanda Stevens from Pear Blossom Press and I met Amanda
on The Rabbit Hole Designs DT.  Amanda is a fellow coffee lover and her husband actually
roasts his own coffee beans which means she is a Coffee Lover Extraordinaire!
Amanda is also a super creative cardmaker who in my opinion
is a master card engineer! Amanda makes the most interactive and fun cards and
there is usually one or more moving parts on her cards!
In addition to her interactive cards Amanda and her husband have
invented an easy system for making light up cards!
Her system is called E-Z Light and you can read more about it
over on her blog Pear Blossom Press!
As you can see Amanda is a busy creative woman and I am honored
that she agreed to join me here today!

Amanda and I talked and we decided that we would both use the stamp set
We also decided to use the same color combination of kraft and salmon
with some oranges and yellows (like sunrise colors).
When I made my card I was focusing solely on the sunrise colors and I forgot
completely about the kraft and salmon.
My forgetful brain strikes again...
I just love the card Amanda made.
She used the most beautiful colors and her card is amazing and elegant!

You can hop over to her blog
for more details and to see how she made her card and the supplies she used.

For my card I decided to make a sunrise burst background with a stencil and
add some balloons for a real PAR-TEA!

I recently purchased the brand new Taylored Expressions blender brushes and I was dying
to ink them up! I used a stencil from My Favorite Things and some Taylored Expressions ink.
I just love how this background came out! I also used the Postage Edge Rectangle die from
Kat Scrappiness to do my sun burst ink blending. Here is a picture with all of the supplies used.
The sentiment is from The Rabbit Hole Designs stamp set Perfectly Blended.

Thank you so much for joining Amanda and I on our coffee date today!
I really enjoyed this collaboration with Amanda and I hope you did too!

Have a great day, I already am!

Pear Blossom Power Pack Hop

Welcome to my blog if this is your first time stopping by and if you've
been here before than welcome back!
Today I have a really exciting project to share with you!
My friend Amanda from Pear Blossom Press has asked me to join in on her
The Power Pack is an incredible device that allows you to make easy
light up cards! Trust me when I tell you how easy it is!
I was intimidated at first but I'm so glad I gave it a try because it turned out
to be SOOOOOO much fun! I even made a video to show you my entire
process for making my card. I had never made a light up card until now but I
know I will be making more thanks to Amanda's awesome Power Packs!

Here are 2 pictures of the card I created for the Blog Hop,
the second shows the card lit up in the dark.
I'll give a quick description with links to products used but
for the full instructions please see the video below.

Card Recipe:

Step 1 - I used the Kat Scrappiness Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Dies to cut a piece of Bristol Smooth Card Stock.

Step 2 - Next I taped the Brutus Monroe Tangled Waves Stencil to my card stock and used the Picket Fence Life Changing Brushes to blend Twisted CitronPeacock Feathers and Salty Ocean
Distress Inks over the stencil.

Step 3 - I stamped the Angler Fish and Starfish from The Rabbit Hole Designs  SoFishticated Stamp Set in Gina K Amalgam Ink and colored with Copic markers.

Step 4 - I used my Scan n Cut to cut out the images and painted Inkon 3 Liquid Pixie Dust to them. This will give your images beautiful sparkle and shine. I used the Stitched Flag Dies  to stamp my sentiment on to and colored with Twisted Citron Distress Ink.

Step 5 - Place your stenciled panel over your card base and mark where you want your Power Pack
battery and LED light to go. Build your circuit with the copper tape included in the Power Pack by connecting positive to positive and negative to negative. Use a double layer of foam tape to build up your card around your circuit.  Make sure not to cover the copper tape with the foam tape.

Step 6 - Press the button and watch your LED lightbulb light up!
Step 7 - Repeat step 6 over and over and over because it's just SO MUCH FUN!!!!

You can see the video on YouTube or you can watch it here:

Make sure you hop along today to see all the inspiration using the Power Packs.
You can enter to win your own set of Power Packs by commenting on the blogs and
videos as you go.
