I'm up on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog today with 

your daily dose of caffeine in the Intensive Coffee Unit!

Today I have a fun card to share with you using the Kat Scrappiness
Layered Coffee Cup Die and a funny sentiment stamp from the
Sassy Coffee  stamp set by Technique Tuesday.

I started off with a cream colored A2 sized coffee base and layered a kraft colored panel

cut out with the Kat Scrappiness Wonky Wavy Stitched Rectangle dies.

Then I embossed it with the Tim Holtz On The Go embossing folder.

I used the Kat Scrappiness Layered Coffee Cup Die because I wanted a large

coffee cup die to take up most of the room on the front of the card.

I just think it paired so well with that hilarious sentiment!

A while back I saw a card on Instagram using that Starbucks logo stamp and 

I loved it!  After a little research I found out that it was sold

at Viva Las Vegas Stamps and I had to order it.

The truth is I'm not really a fan of Starbucks coffee (too strong)

but I think their logo is super cool! 

What self respecting Coffee Loving Cardmaker could 

resist a Starbuck's logo stamp.😂🤣

I used Lucky Clover Distress Ink for the Starbuck's stamp.

To get the coffee koozie to match, I also blended the same ink on some paper

to cut the koozie out of and ran it through the EK Succkess paper crimper.

I finished my card off with some cute little coffee beans from the 

Kat Scrappiness Let's Get Caffeinated stamp set and of course 

I used Ground Espresso Distress Ink to stamp them with!

Happy Little Stampers March ATC Challenge

Hello everyone!

I am back again with the March

Happy Little Stampers ATC challenge.

Every month Happy Little Stampers has an 

ATC challenge and the theme for March is Hearts.  

For anyone who isn't familiar with ATC cards, they are mini

works of art that measure 2.5" x 3.5" and are traded around the world.

Usually they are numbered and signed on the back by the artist.

Here is my ATC card for this month:

For my ATC this month I decided to use a brick embossing folder on

my card base and do some blending over it with Vintage Photo

Distress Oxide ink keeping it lighter in the middle.

I darkened the edges with Black Soot Distress Oxide ink 

to bring more focus to the center of the card.

Next I took some Barn Door Distress Ink and did

some ink blending on white card stock until it was nice and dark.

I then punched out 2 heart shaped die cuts out of it and

inked their edges with Black Soot to match the edges of the card.

My Tim Holtz sticker book had the perfect sentiment to tie

into this month's theme of hearts so I cut it

into smaller pieces and inked the edges as well.

To finish off my ATC card I tied red and brown twine

around the top of the card for a little more interest.

Crazy Bird

Good morning everyone! 

It's my turn today over on the Kat Scrappiness blog and I've got a fun card to share with you.  This month Kat released a great new die called the Wood Grain Framed Diamond Wire and it really is a unique die that can be used in so many different ways.  Make sure to check out the other projects by the DT members to see how they have used this fun die.  

Today I decided to use the die as an interesting background and a place to showcase my crazy bird and computer generated sentiment. 

I started by stamping my Tim Holtz Crazy Bird on to some watercolor paper with 

Versafine Onyx black ink and coloring him with 2 colors of distress ink.  I rubbed some Squeezed Lemonade and Peacock Feathers on to an acrylic block and I used my water brush to pick up the ink and color my bird.  After I was happy with the results I hand cut him out and put him aside to dry.

  

Next I die cut the Wood Grain Framed Diamond Wire die out of some black cardstock and adhered a piece of black striped patterned paper behind it.  I really love the look of the wire die over the striped paper.  It adds to the "crazy" look on the birds face.  

I glued the wire die with the patterned paper to an A2 sized white card base with some 

Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.  

For this card I wanted to add a sentiment with a crazy font so I generated a sentiment with my computer and hand cut it out.  I trimmed down the words into 6 different strips and inked the edges of each strip with some Black Soot distress ink.  

The only thing left to do was to pop up my bird and sentiment strips up on some foam tape. 

I love how this card turned out and the Wood Grain Framed Diamond Wire die 

gives it such a unique look.

Simon Says: Add Some Texture

SSS Wednesday Challenge Add Some Texture

I love this week's challenge to add some texture to your project.  I knew I wanted to use a woodgrain embossing folder on the main card but the treasure map on the front wound up having it's own texture.  I didn't realize how much until I showed my son this card and he actually wanted to feel the map, he said it looked like leather.  That's when I knew it was the perfect project for this week's challenge.  I just love the little DeNami chickie stamps and their Pirate Chickie was just meant for this treasure map!  I used the Distressed Edges Rectangle dies from Kat Scrappiness for the map and I inked the edges with Tim Holtz Ground Espresso Distress Ink after I sprayed it with water and crumpled it up a few times.  

I used the SSS "Circle Friends" stamp set for the fun stitching lines and the Stitched Alpha Dies from Craftin Desert Divas for my "X" marks the spot embellishments.  The sentiment "Ahoy Matey" came from the Papertrey Ink stamp set "Out to Sea" and the banner and circle seal dies are from the 

Spellbinders "Hipster 1" dies.  

I actually made a list of how many companies products I used on this card just for fun and it came to 11.  I really enjoyed making this card and it turned out just like I wanted which is rare.  Sometimes the card ideas in my head don't actually make it to the card itself.  See you next week for another

CAS(E) this Sketch #256

Good morning crafty friends.  Today I am happily playing along at CAS(E) this Sketch.  Here is the challenging but fun sketch for this week. 

I love the idea of the repeated elements and I decided to duplicate my fun coffee cups from my Top Dog Dies set.  Unfortunately Top Dog went out of business, they had the cutest dies!

To add interest to the background, I used a Tim Holtz coffee cup embossing folder on the background of the card and popped the 3 coffee cups up on foam tape. The cute sentiment is from a Simon Says Stamp set called Coffee and Tea.  Here is my entry for this week.

I'm loving how it came out with the pretty watercolor coffee cozies.
