Happy 10 Year Blogaversary To Oh So Cute By Lisa!

Happy 10 years to my little old bloggity blog!
Oh So Cute By Lisa turns 10 today!
It's hard to believe that I've been writing about and sharing my cards on this blog for 10 years now!
I was looking back at old posts recently and I came across my first blog post and to my surprise I realized that the 10 year anniversary was going to be February 10th!
And here we are!
Here is a link to my very first blog post:

You know I didn't know what I was doing because I didn't even give the post a title.
πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

The very next day on February 11th I shared my first card on this post:

My card making and photography skills have come a LONG WAY!!!!!
My favorite company back then and the first one I ordered from was Papertrey Ink.
I idolized their designers and couldn't get enough of their inspiration! I frequented Dawn McVey's blog daily not to mention Melissa Phillips and Betsy Veldman. I adored Heather Nichols krafty obsession and I am loving everything she creates for Taylored Expressions these days!
These girls were my early cardmaking heroes!
I still idolize these girls but now I follow their crafty adventures on Instagram.

Fast forward to August of 2018 when I got to meet all of my superheroes in person!
I attended Stamp-A-Faire in Cincinnati and had the time of my life!
Ok I wound up breaking my pinky on my right hand before Betsy's watercolor class (the class I was dying to take) but I babied that finger and watercolored my heart out.
It was a freak accident but I didn't let it stop me from having a great time that weekend!
The event was live streamed and my family back home got to watch me making paper from scratch with Heather Nichols. It was neat for them to see what we were actually doing in real time!
Here's a few highlights from that trip:

It's amazing to look back and see how far I have come! I used to enter a lot more card challenges and I had lots of card making goals, many of which I achieved.
I wanted to get a card published in a magazine, I wanted to make it on to a design team and unfortunately I can't remember the third goal right now.
I'm happy to say that I far exceeded my goals and it's been a great ride!
I had a card published in Papercrafts Magazine back in November of 2010 and I was so proud!
I have been on quite a few design teams and I have LOVED them all! Here is a link to all of the teams I've been privileged to design for.
My greatest pleasure is designing and posting cards.  I love making cards for my family as well, I am known as the family Hallmark store!

Of course there were years when my blog was quieter than others.  Life gets in the way and priorities change over the years but I always knew I wanted an active blog and I kept coming back to it. My craft room changed a few times over in the 10 years but now it's in a great place by a huge window and I love the natural light I get to work in! I share my craft room with my daughter Taylor who is an avid planner girl and wishing she had more time to do it! My craft room is decorated with art made by my daughter Brooke who is a talented painter and my son Matthew frequents my room from time to time to make a card or 2. I love sharing my crafty world with my kids and they are always ready with an "oh i love that card mom" even if they don't mean it LOL!
Here's a fun collage of my 3 kids and my ever loving card making supporters:

Over the last year I started including Facebook and Instagram into my social media repertoire. Ok my daughter had to teach me Instagram but I'm a fast learner.  It became increasingly important to use social media for exposure and for DT work.  I do love sharing my cards but sometimes it's a chore. I'd much rather be creating than typing! I'm sure most of you will agree to that one.

My crafty world culminated in the most amazing experience last month when I got to attend Creativation for the very first time. My daughter Taylor and I boarded a plane for Phoenix, Arizona and had the time of our lives! I got to meet so many of the amazing crafty people in person that I had only corresponded with online previously. I enjoyed meeting everyone and taking in all the crafty goodness on the show floor!  It's a good thing nothing was for sale because I'd be broke today!
I had been wanting to attend Creativation since it was called CHA and I'm happy to say I finally made it there! Here's a few highlights from that trip:

These are just a few of the great memories we made that weekend!

And here I am today with a craft room filled to the brim with stamps, dies, paper, glue, glitter, sequins, paint, stencils and SO MUCH MORE!!!!
If I never bought another stamp or die I'd still never get to use everything I have but I'm pretty sure that collecting craft supplies is half the fun!

It's been a wild ride for 10 years and I can't wait to see what the next 10 years bring!
For my 10 year blogaversary I decided to do something a little different and make a card for myself. Lately I have been LOVING all of the new stamps and stencils from Taylored Expressions and of course ink blending is SO ADDICTING so I combined all of that and made myself a card in celebration of ME!

One of my favorite stamp and die combos from Taylored Expressions is the Big Grumpy set.
I am also in love with all of the stencils they have been releasing! I used the rectangle masking stencil on this card.  I just love how smooth that rainbow came out using their rainbow blending brushes!
I just love that snarky sentiment and since I made myself this card, it was perfect!

Well, if you made it all the way through this blog post thanks for joining me for this fun trip down memory lane.  Even if no one reads this post I enjoyed the memories and creating a little memoir of my own.  I will end this post the way I end all of my posts and the way I will always end my posts...

Have a great day, I already am!

Anti Valentine's Day Dragon

Welcome back to my blog! Today I am up on The Rabbit Hole Designs blog
with an Anti-Valentine's Day card. Since Valentine's Day is a very unpopular holiday for so many, The Rabbit Hole has come up with an Anti-Valentine's Day stamp set and the snarky sentiments are HILARIOUS! When I first colored this Caffeinated Dragon I was not happy with the results and he got filed away with images that I might use one day. Well today is that day!  When I was going through the sentiments in the Sassy Anti-Valentine stamp set I knew that the sentiment I picked was perfect for my diseased looking Dragon.
Well at least that's what I thought........ green with purple spots.......ick!

Here are the 2 stamp sets I used on today's card:

I love how the brick embossing folder background adds to the "blah" feeling on this card, the whole card just makes me laugh! I hope it gave you a good laugh too!

Bee Mine Bumble Bee Card and Video

Hello and welcome to my blog! Today I have a bumble bee inspired card that can be used for Valentine's Day or any Love themed card. i-Crafter is a new company in town with some of the coolest teal colored dies! For my card today I used the Floral Garden and Love Bug dies.

Floral Garden
Love Bug

I started out by using a hexagon stencil and blending 2 different colors of yellow inks for some contrast and interest. I did some ink blending with one of the i-Crafter ink pads in the color Fire Ruby on some smooth card stock and then cut the flowers out. Once they were cut out I added some white ink using Shaved Ice to give the flowers some dimension. I sprayed the flowers with some shimmer mist so they would sparkle.  I cut the bees out with glitter paper so they would sparkle as well.

I filmed a video to show the process for my card.  You can watch it here or on YouTube

It's been a while since I made a video so I'm a bit rusty but I wanted you to see these amazing dies in action.  I hope you'll check out the i-Crafter website and social media accounts.  Every month the design team will be doing an inspiration blog hop using new products to inspire you.

Thanks for stopping by today!
Have a great day, I already am!

Lovely Layered Floral Heart

Good morning! Today I'm up on the Kat Scrappiness Blog and with Valentine's Day right around the corner I've been busy creating my favorite types of cards.  I love all things heart related so this holiday is one of my favorites. I've always been drawn to the more feminine and frilly style of cardmaking. My card today was inspired by a card I saw Laura Bassen make while I was scrolling through Instagram. I am in love with the Floral Heart Die from Kat Scrappiness and for today's card I die cut about 6 of them out of heavy white card stock and layered them on top of each other with Nuvo Liquid Adhesive. I just love that added dimension it gives to the focal point.

I just love that look you get when you layer dies on each other.
It gives so much dimension to your card.

For the background of the card I cut out a panel of Bristol Smooth card stock with the largest Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Die and did some ink blending with these 3 Distress Oxide Inks:

I added some paint splatters over the panel with the same colors
plus some white paint for added interest.

I used the I Love You Shadow Dies for the simple sentiment on top of the heart. I cut the word "Love" out using silver foil card stock and I used vellum for the shadow die backing. I love using vellum on my projects because I think it adds a very elegant look to my projects. For some extra shine and fun I added Silver Jewels all around the heart to match the silver foil card stock.

To finish off my card I tied a bow using some Lawn Fawn Silver Sparkle cord with a glue dot.
Here is one more look at my card with all of the dies I used on the card.  I really love how this card turned out. The ink blended background just makes me happy. I love how all the colors blend into each other to make new colors.

Thank you so much for stopping by today, I love sharing my cards on my blog and I hope you'll come back often to see more of my cards! I also post my cards on my FB page and my Instagram account.

I've Coffeelings For You

Good morning and welcome to my ICU!
I am up again today on The Coffee Loving Cardmaker's Blog and I've got a pre-Valentine's Day card using some old and new stamp sets. If I'm being honest I'm not thrilled with how my card came out. It's one of those cards that looked waaaaaaaay different in my head and didn't come out quite the way I expected.  The funny thing about that is, those are usually the cards that everyone loves.  Go figure!

I was really inspired by a background that Heather Nichols did for Taylored Expressions recently where she did a stenciled cloud background on kraft paper and then she stenciled some red hearts on top of it. That was where the idea for my card started but it just got lost along the way.

Here is my caffeinated inspired card for you today:

I started with a kraft cardstock panel and I stenciled some white ink over the My Favorite Things Cloud Stencil. After that I took the Feathered Stencil from Taylored Expressions and brushed on some Cherry Pop ink over the clouds. I die cut the entire panel out with a scalloped rectangle die from Neat and Tangled. For my coffee cup I used the Kat Scrappiness Layered Coffee Cup die. I just love the size of that cup and it comes with a separate die for the koozie which I ran through my paper crimper.
For that cute little bear I fished out an old Simon Says Stamp stamp set called Circle Friends. I always loved the cute little animals in that set. The sentiments are from the recently released Caffeinated stamp set by Paper Smooches.
For a little extra love I added some Red Heart Sprinkles from Kat Scrappiness.

There you have it in all its stenciled glory! I guess you can't love 'em all...
Thank you Heather Nichols for the inspiration, I will continue to be inspired by everything "kraft" related that you do!

Have a great day, I already am!

i-Crafter February Inspiration Hop

Hello everyone and welcome back to another release from the brand new company
i-Crafter. Inspired by crafters, for crafters. Get ready for some fun because there are 5 new products being showcased this month by the design team and you are going to love them. Let's not waste any time, here are the 5 die sets we are focusing on today:

Pop Up Wiper Insert

So many dies, so many many possibilities!!!

Let's start with the Animalopes!
These dies help you put together the cutest little envelope that is the exact size of a gift card. What's nice about the dies is that you can add cute little animal elements to any project, they're not just plain envelopes. I made 3 "Animal Envelopes" and one card using the animal elements.
First up is the trio of envelopes. I made a mouse, a rabbit and a skunk. It's fun to mix and match the different elements in this die set to make any animal you want.

For my next project I made a unicorn card and I used the brand new
Hybrid ink pads that are also being released at i-Crafter.
There are 12 beautiful colors to choose from and I used 6 of them on my card to make my rainbow clouds. The colors I used, in rainbow order are as follows:

The "THANKS" word die comes from the Pop Up Wiper Insert dies and can be used with or without the Pop Up element.

If you haven't checked out the new i-Crafter brushes yet you must see them. They are mini brushes that look just like daubers but they have soft bristles on them and are ideal for ink blending in small spaces. They are also color coded so you can keep them in their own color families. The set comes with 10 brushes and they are just as cute as can be!

The next die set I want to share with you is called Cherry Blossom and I really went all out on this card. One of my favorite color combinations is pink and gold and these dies make layering so easy!

In addition to the Cherry Blossom dies I also used the butterfly from the Love Bugs die set and the "Love" word die from the Heart Hands Wiper Insert dies that we showcased last month.
I die cut the word "Love" out of pink cardstock and then dipped the bottom half of the word in Ranger Watermark Ink. I then dipped the word in Ranger Gold embossing powder and heated it up until it was melted.  I repeated the process on the border of the embossed panel.  That's A LOT of gold for one card! These flowers add that perfect elegance to any project.

Floral Garden is the next die set up on the blog. These dies include 15 individual pieces that make up the cutest little garden you've ever seen.  I knew the minute I laid eyes on them that I wanted to make a pop up box card.

I also added some adorable bugs from the Love Bugs die set which brings me to my next card.

For some extra added fun on this card I used some colorful foil for the sentiment.  I printed the sentiment out on my laser printer and then ran it through my Minc Foil Applicator with some Deco Rainbow foil from Therm O Web.

The cutest thing about the Love Bugs dies is that they come in multiple layers so you can make your bugs in a rainbow of colors. Fun fact, I'm not a fan of bugs at all but if you add a little bit of glitter paper, they become much more tolerable!
πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

The last card I have to share with you today uses dies from 3 of the sets we are showcasing today. The flowers are from the Cherry Blossom set, the butterfly is from the Love Bugs set and the "THANKS" word die is from the Pop Up Wiper Insert dies.

I just love how these beautiful colors really pop against the black background!
It's so much fun to combine multiple die sets on one card.  The floral themes go so well with the bugs and sentiments.  You will have endless fun combining all the flowers and bugs!

Well, if you're still with me I'll tell you about the giveaway we are having this month!
