Hooray Times Two

Hello and welcome! Today on my blog I have two very different cards using the same die.
I love how versatile the Kat Scrappiness Hooray with Shadow Die is! It is large enough to stand alone on a card and be the main focal point. All you need is an interesting background and your card practically makes itself. I made 2 very different cards today with the Hooray card. One has lots of ink blending and stenciling in the background while the other is more of a clean and simple type of card.

For my first card today I used assorted Distress Oxide Inks in
rainbow colors to get a polka dot ink blended background.

The first step was to take a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock and do some ink blending with these Distress Ink colors in this order using an ink blending tool and foam applicators:

I applied these colors to my cardstock with a fairly light hand and then I applied the
Altenew Bubble Wrap stencil to the same panel and went back over the panel with the same colors but using a slightly heavier hand to get the large polka dot stenciled look. I just love how it came out!
Next I used the largest die from the Wonky Wavy Stitched Rectangle Dies to cut a rectangle out from the ink blended panel.  I then took the Kat Scrappiness Hooray with Shadow Die and cut the shadow layer out in black and the actual word layer out in white.  The layers are so easy to put together because the shadow layer is the perfect matte for the word. I added in an extra sentiment under Hooray to make this a birthday card and then I decorated with my favorite embellishment from Kat Scrappiness,  Sparkling Clear Droplets!

I matted the card on a black panel to really make the rainbow colors pop and my card was done.
Here is a look at the card with all the supplies pictured.

For my next card I went a little more CAS but still using the

I also did some ink blending with Distress Inks on this card but only for the word Hooray.
Once again I did a little ink blending with these 3 colors in this order using an ink blending tool and foam applicators:

Once I had the blend the way I wanted I cut the word Hooray out of the panel.  I just love how those 3 colors blend together to give a warm tropical look! I cut the word Hooray out 4 more times, twice in white and 2 more times in a coral color.  I used the white words to give a tone on tone look by adhering them directly to the white card base and the 2 coral words I used to build up the ink blended Hooray die cut.  Once I applied the two white Hooray cuts to the top and bottom of the card I did some ink splattering in gold using the Kuretake watercolor paint in gold to add some interest to the background of the card. Once the ink splattering was done I added the ink blended Hooray to the center of the card and finished off the card with some Altenew Gold Sequins
Here is a look at the card with all the supplies pictured.

Although I don't often make CAS cards, I like how this one came out!

Thanks so much for joining me today! Head over to Kat Scrappiness to check out all of the amazing sentiment dies with shadows!

Happy 10 Year Blogaversary To Oh So Cute By Lisa!

Happy 10 years to my little old bloggity blog!
Oh So Cute By Lisa turns 10 today!
It's hard to believe that I've been writing about and sharing my cards on this blog for 10 years now!
I was looking back at old posts recently and I came across my first blog post and to my surprise I realized that the 10 year anniversary was going to be February 10th!
And here we are!
Here is a link to my very first blog post:

You know I didn't know what I was doing because I didn't even give the post a title.
πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

The very next day on February 11th I shared my first card on this post:

My card making and photography skills have come a LONG WAY!!!!!
My favorite company back then and the first one I ordered from was Papertrey Ink.
I idolized their designers and couldn't get enough of their inspiration! I frequented Dawn McVey's blog daily not to mention Melissa Phillips and Betsy Veldman. I adored Heather Nichols krafty obsession and I am loving everything she creates for Taylored Expressions these days!
These girls were my early cardmaking heroes!
I still idolize these girls but now I follow their crafty adventures on Instagram.

Fast forward to August of 2018 when I got to meet all of my superheroes in person!
I attended Stamp-A-Faire in Cincinnati and had the time of my life!
Ok I wound up breaking my pinky on my right hand before Betsy's watercolor class (the class I was dying to take) but I babied that finger and watercolored my heart out.
It was a freak accident but I didn't let it stop me from having a great time that weekend!
The event was live streamed and my family back home got to watch me making paper from scratch with Heather Nichols. It was neat for them to see what we were actually doing in real time!
Here's a few highlights from that trip:

It's amazing to look back and see how far I have come! I used to enter a lot more card challenges and I had lots of card making goals, many of which I achieved.
I wanted to get a card published in a magazine, I wanted to make it on to a design team and unfortunately I can't remember the third goal right now.
I'm happy to say that I far exceeded my goals and it's been a great ride!
I had a card published in Papercrafts Magazine back in November of 2010 and I was so proud!
I have been on quite a few design teams and I have LOVED them all! Here is a link to all of the teams I've been privileged to design for.
My greatest pleasure is designing and posting cards.  I love making cards for my family as well, I am known as the family Hallmark store!

Of course there were years when my blog was quieter than others.  Life gets in the way and priorities change over the years but I always knew I wanted an active blog and I kept coming back to it. My craft room changed a few times over in the 10 years but now it's in a great place by a huge window and I love the natural light I get to work in! I share my craft room with my daughter Taylor who is an avid planner girl and wishing she had more time to do it! My craft room is decorated with art made by my daughter Brooke who is a talented painter and my son Matthew frequents my room from time to time to make a card or 2. I love sharing my crafty world with my kids and they are always ready with an "oh i love that card mom" even if they don't mean it LOL!
Here's a fun collage of my 3 kids and my ever loving card making supporters:

Over the last year I started including Facebook and Instagram into my social media repertoire. Ok my daughter had to teach me Instagram but I'm a fast learner.  It became increasingly important to use social media for exposure and for DT work.  I do love sharing my cards but sometimes it's a chore. I'd much rather be creating than typing! I'm sure most of you will agree to that one.

My crafty world culminated in the most amazing experience last month when I got to attend Creativation for the very first time. My daughter Taylor and I boarded a plane for Phoenix, Arizona and had the time of our lives! I got to meet so many of the amazing crafty people in person that I had only corresponded with online previously. I enjoyed meeting everyone and taking in all the crafty goodness on the show floor!  It's a good thing nothing was for sale because I'd be broke today!
I had been wanting to attend Creativation since it was called CHA and I'm happy to say I finally made it there! Here's a few highlights from that trip:

These are just a few of the great memories we made that weekend!

And here I am today with a craft room filled to the brim with stamps, dies, paper, glue, glitter, sequins, paint, stencils and SO MUCH MORE!!!!
If I never bought another stamp or die I'd still never get to use everything I have but I'm pretty sure that collecting craft supplies is half the fun!

It's been a wild ride for 10 years and I can't wait to see what the next 10 years bring!
For my 10 year blogaversary I decided to do something a little different and make a card for myself. Lately I have been LOVING all of the new stamps and stencils from Taylored Expressions and of course ink blending is SO ADDICTING so I combined all of that and made myself a card in celebration of ME!

One of my favorite stamp and die combos from Taylored Expressions is the Big Grumpy set.
I am also in love with all of the stencils they have been releasing! I used the rectangle masking stencil on this card.  I just love how smooth that rainbow came out using their rainbow blending brushes!
I just love that snarky sentiment and since I made myself this card, it was perfect!

Well, if you made it all the way through this blog post thanks for joining me for this fun trip down memory lane.  Even if no one reads this post I enjoyed the memories and creating a little memoir of my own.  I will end this post the way I end all of my posts and the way I will always end my posts...

Have a great day, I already am!

I Drink Coffee For Your Protection

Good morning Coffee Loving Crafty Peeps!
I just spent the most amazing weekend in Phoenix, Arizona for Creativation!
I had the privilege of meeting a lot of crafty friends in person and 3 of those people were Coffee Loving Cardmaker Designers that you all know and love! It was so nice meeting
and

It was a nice long weekend full of all things crafty with some of the sweetest people you'll ever meet!
I am up on The Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog today and I have a humorous card with a fun coffee bean background.

I die cut a piece of white cardstock using the largest die from the Kat Scrappiness Distressed Edge Rectangle Nesting Dies and then sponged some light brown ink over a Gina Marie Coffee Bean Stencil. The sentiment on that adorable coffee cup is from CAS-ual Fridays Hot Coffee stamp set and the cup is cut from their Coffee Cup Fri-Dies. I also thought it would be fun to add some laughing emojis to the card so I broke out an older set of Spellbinder dies that I had and created a few fun faces!

This card sums up my Creativation experience so well! There was a lot of laughs and a lot of vanilla lattes! I hope this card gave you a chuckle as well!

Thank you so much for joining me today.
Have a great day, I already am!

Rainbow Happy Birthday

The recent release at The Rabbit Hole Designs was all about birthday cards
and I never have enough of them on hand!

My 2 favorite products from this release were the
Scripty Happy Birthday stamp and the

I used both on today's card.

I started with the Twisted Sunshine stencil and did some ink blending
in rainbow colors. I then stamped the Scripty Happy Birthday stamp
in black over the stenciled design.  I love how the black pops against
the rainbow! I matted the panel on to a black card base and added
some sparkly clear sequins for some added interest.

I hope you enjoyed my card today and don't forget you can
now purchase The Rabbit Hole Designs stamps at Simon Says Stamp!

Have a great day, I already am!

Paper Sweeties September 2019 New Release Rewind!

Welcome back to my blog for the New Release Rewind Day for Paper Sweetie's
September release.  Today I have 2 more cards to share with you using the brand new
stamp set Ewe Make Me Happy . The first card features that sweet little lamb and
the adorable "Love" sentiment from the set.  I did some repeat stamping with the Love sentiment
and made it the background of the card.  I love how the little lamb really stands out
against the vellum Scalloped Circle Sweet Cuts die.

For my second card today I used the sweet flower from the same set and I used a sentiment from
a recently released stamp set called Best Day Ever.
I just love how these flowers can be used alone on a card, they really have a lot of
character when you give them polka dots!

Don't forget to check out the other new stamp set released yesterday in the Paper Sweeties shop called What's Up Chickie?

The first one is called Ewe Make Me Happy and I am in love with

stamps and dies:

I just love the small hearts all over the sheep, isn't she the cutest!!!!

Jellyfish Thank You

Welcome back to my blog crafty friends!
I'm up on the Rabbit Hole Designs blog today to bring you a Thank You
card using the Sofishticated stamp set.
You can purchase this set from (The Rabbit Hole or Kat Scrappiness)!

I just love the Jellyfish stamp from this set.
It has such beautiful intricacies in the main body and tail and
I think it looks very elegant when heat embossed in gold.

I started by doing some ink blending with several colors of
and Salty Ocean. After all of the blending I sprayed some water droplets
for a more distressed look.  I also sprayed some homemade glimmer mist
for some extra shine. The camera doesn't pick that up very well.
I wanted a pretty scalloped edge so I die cut the inked panel
I made sure to use my anti-static tool over the ink blending to I could
heat emboss without making a mess.  I stamped the Jellyfish stamp
in clear Versamark ink and then sprinkled gold embossing powder
over it. I used my heat gun to melt the powder and I just love the results!
I also added a gold frame with foil card stock to finish off the edges.
The Thank You sentiment was cut with the same gold foil as the frame and
I added some blue jewels for some added interest and sparkle.

I love how this card came out, the ink blending was the perfect background
for this whimsical Jellyfish and the gold accents are so elegant.

I have 2 cards to share with you today using The Caffeinated Fox stamp set.

For my first card I let our friend the fox take center stage
and I used the sentiment that came with the stamp set for this card.
"Zero FOX given before caffeine!"
I just love that snarky sentiment!

For my second card I thought it would be funny to put the fox in a polaroid
picture frame with a fun stenciled background.
That awesome sentiment is from the brand new

The Rabbit Hole Designs May Release Day 2

Welcome back to day 2 of the May release from The Rabbit Hole Designs!
Today they are releasing 2 more new stamp sets and just like yesterday,
these 2 will pair perfectly with each other and lots of other stamp
sets already available in The Rabbit Hole store!

Today's stamp sets are the:

This Caffeinated Shark is just too funny and when you pair him with those
crazy funny Sassy Sentiments oh what fun you'll have!
As a matter of fact, all that sass goes really well with the whole line
of caffeinated critters in The Rabbit Hole Designs shop!

Today I'm sharing 2 cards I made using the Sassy Sentiments stamp set.
I really had fun with these stamps and I know you will too!

For my first card I used the previously released Caffeinated Cat and I thought
it would be funny to put him in jail with his twin BFF!
The sentiment "A good friend bails you out, a best friend is in the same cell with you"
inspired me to make this card.

I wanted to mimic a jail cell so I embossed some gray paper with a brick
embossing folder and added some gray ink to bring out the detail.
Just to make it authentic, I gave those tired cats some striped orange prison
outfits to wear. I personalized their coffee cups with "BFF" to go with the sentiment.

For my second card I used the Caffeinated Rabbit from yesterday's release
and used one of the other funny sentiments from the Sassy Sentiments stamp set.

I wanted a fancy background for this card so I stamped some pretty roses
onto my base and added some pretty pink curtains. This sentiment is just so
funny, I wanted it to seem like this tired rabbit was on stage announcing
those funny birthday wishes!

This release is so much fun and I hope you are enjoying seeing all the
cards with the new stamp sets!

To celebrate day 2 of the release The Rabbit Hole Designs is giving away
