Sentiments With Style

Kat Scrappiness is releasing 2 more sentiment dies today in their line of large sentiments with matching shadow dies. They are large enough to fill the front of your card and become the focal point all on their own. I just love the scripty font that they come in and on my card I used the brand new Thank You with Shadow dies.  The base of my card was made using the recently released 

Stitched Scalloped Nesting Slimline dies and the Embossed Edge Nesting Slimline Dies.

To give my card a little extra sparkle and shine I used sequins from the 50 Shades of Red sequin mix.

The come in White, Whip Cream and Kraft.

For my second card today I have used the Hooray with Shadow die and I cut the main word out of glitter paper to really make it pop against the white shadow layer. For my background I did some ink blending with The Rabbit Hole Designs Diamond Flower Stencil. If I'm not using pink on my card then I'm probably blending some cool blues and I just love that beautiful blend of color!

My addiction with Kat's Clear Sparkling Jewels is quite evident on this card as well!

Jellyfish Thank You

Welcome back to my blog crafty friends!

I'm up on the Rabbit Hole Designs blog today to bring you a Thank You 

card using the Sofishticated stamp set.

I just love the Jellyfish stamp from this set. 

It has such beautiful intricacies in the main body and tail and 

I think it looks very elegant when heat embossed in gold.

I started by doing some ink blending with several colors of

distress inks. I used Twisted Citron, Broken China, Squeezed Lemonade,

and Salty Ocean. After all of the blending I sprayed some water droplets

for a more distressed look.  I also sprayed some homemade glimmer mist

for some extra shine. The camera doesn't pick that up very well.

I wanted a pretty scalloped edge so I die cut the inked panel

out with a Stitched Scalloped Rectangle die from Kat Scrappiness.

I made sure to use my anti-static tool over the ink blending to I could 

heat emboss without making a mess.  I stamped the Jellyfish stamp

in clear Versamark ink and then sprinkled gold embossing powder

over it. I used my heat gun to melt the powder and I just love the results!

I also added a gold frame with foil card stock to finish off the edges.

The Thank You sentiment was cut with the same gold foil as the frame and 

I added some blue jewels for some added interest and sparkle.

I love how this card came out, the ink blending was the perfect background

for this whimsical Jellyfish and the gold accents are so elegant.

Happy Little Stampers March Watercolour Challenge

Hello crafty friends and welcome back to another Watercolour challenge
over at the Happy Little Stampers blog!

This month the theme is anything goes with an optional "Mist" twist.
Here is my card for this month.

For my card I decided to do some watercoloring with Distress Inks.

I used the Stitched Flowers dies from My Favorite Things and 

I watercolored a few panels with different combos of inks

and then cut out a bunch of flowers to play with.

I randomly paired them up so I'd have lots to choose

from and I picked my 3 most favorite flowers for my card.

For the base of my card I cut a piece of card stock from some PTI 

Hawaiian Shores. I used one of the dies from the 

Stitched Scalloped Rectangle dies from Kat Scrappiness to 

place my flowers on.

For some added texture I embossed that panel with 

the Fancy Floral Coverplate also from Kat Scrappiness.

Before I added the flowers I misted the panel with some

distress ink splatters in Picked Raspberry and Peacock Feathers.

PTI Make it Monday #316 Stenciled Edges

I love Mondays because I get to play along with Papertrey Ink Make it Monday challenges!  This week Lizzie has a really fun challenge to create stenciled edges to bring attention to the focal point. It's such a pretty look and so soft.  I fell in love with the Layered Banner Die she used so I just HAD to order it after I saw the video.  I love how she layered the dotted paper behind it!  Here is my card for this week's MIM.

I started with some Aqua Mist ink and I used a Heidi Swapp stencil.  I really love how it turned out.  It's such a subtle look but so beautiful!  I stamped the sentiment from an older PTI stamp set called Scrolling Script and heat embossed it with gold powder on a frame that I die cut from the Mix and Mat confetti die set.  Lastly, I die cut two birds from the Songbirds dies.  I die cut the birds out of kraft and aqua mist card stock and then I inlaid the aqua mist flowers into the kraft birds.  I just love that color combination!

I enjoyed this technique and I think I will be using it again very soon!
