Rainbow Cards with Heart Panel Die and Video

I'm up on the Kat Scrappiness blog today with a couple of pretty rainbow cards using these 3
Kat Scrappiness products:

I started with a piece of Bristol Smooth Cardstock and did some ink blending with these
6 Distress Oxide Inks:

Candied Apple
and

I cut the Heart Panel Die out in black and white and laid them on 2 different rainbow ink blended panels cut using the Embossed Edge Rectangle Dies.  I added the "Love" word die from the
I Love You Shadow Dies on both cards.  One is white backed in black and the other is black backed in white.

I have a process video up on my YouTube channel showing how I made both of these cards.
You can watch it here or on YouTube.

I hope you enjoyed my rainbow cards and they have inspired you to get inky!

Check out my other blog post using the Heart Panel Die to DIY your own stencil! There's a video along with that process as well!

Happy Little Stampers January Watercolor Challenge

Hello crafty friends and Happy New Year!
Starting this month I am joining the Watercolor Design Team over at
I've been on the ATC challenge team for a while and since
I enjoy Watercolors so much I decided to give that team a try as well!
This month the theme is anything goes with an optional "Texture" twist.

For my card I decided to do some watercoloring with Distress Inks.
I started out by doing some ink blending with 3 different color distress inks.
I used Broken China, Twisted Citron and Worn Lipstick.
They are so pretty when they blend together!
After I blended them out I used the Simon Says Stamp
Outline Floral Frame to cut out a panel.
It really was so pretty to see where the colors came out among the flowers!
I backed that panel with vellum to soften the card.
For the main focal point I die cut the Simon Says Stamp
Devonshire Butterfly out of gold foil card stock and added foam tape to the back.
SO PRETTY!
To give a little more interest to the card I added some gold floss
behind the butterfly in a random bunch.
For the sentiment I stamped Happy Birthday from the Essentials by Ellen
stamp set Wish Big.  I ALWAYS need birthday cards so this was an easy pick!
I watercolored the sentiment strip to match the floral die and adhered it to the butterfly.
I am so in love with watercolors, I love the soft random colors you
can achieve depending on the amount of water you use.

Come join us for the Happy Little Stampers Watercolor Challenge this month!
Thanks for stopping by today, hope you get some free crafty time today!
Have a great day, I already am!

Simon Says : Add Some Texture (Take 2)

I am loving this week's Wednesday challenge at Simon Says Stamp to add texture so much that I made a second card.  Instagram is filled with all things Springy and Butterfly related now and I just had to jump on the bandwagon.  Since I am waiting on my butterfly dies from the SSS Fluttering By collection I thought I would take out 2 of my older butterfly dies from
SSS called Devonshire and Paulina. The 2 smaller butterflies are SU punches.
So much inspiration on this card but mostly from Melissa Phillips at Lilybean Paperie.  She has a way of making every card look magical!  On a recent card for the SSS blog hop she sponged her butterflies with distress ink, sprayed with water and splattered white paint on top.
LOVE THOSE RESULTS!

I didn't glue the wings down so they could fly off the page.
I layered those beautiful butterflies on top of the Papertrey Ink Shapeshifters Oval 1 die and I used the Aqua Mist Bitty Big paper as a background.  Since I know my mom will love this card I finished it off with a Happy Mother's Day sentiment from PTI's Butterfly Blooms stamp set.  I heat embossed it with white powder onto a strip of Aqua Mist Bitty Big paper and popped it up on foam tape.  All that was left was to add some sparkly clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and my card was done.
Thanks so much for stopping by today to take a look!
I hope you all are enjoying your Saturday, I know I am!

Video: Kat Scrappiness Design Team Project: Rainbow Brush Strokes

I'm so happy to be bringing you another fun project from the Kat Scrappiness design team!  Today I have a really fun and colorful card to share!  One of the new stamp sets in the shop this month is the Everyday Brush Strokes stamp set.  I'm a sucker for rainbow colors, I have been since I'm a kid!
❤️ 🌈 🌈 🌈 ❤️
Those bright colors just make me happy!
Here is the card I'll be sharing with you today.

I used 4 different colors of Distress Oxide inks and I stamped a repeating background in a rainbow pattern on the front panel that I die cut from the
Kat Scrappiness Stitched Postage Edge Rectangle Dies.

Once I stamped all the colors all the way down the card I decided to play with a little black paint splatter.  I love to add some fun paint splatter to my cards, it really adds a ton of interest to any project, not to mention it's just plain FUN!!  I'll show you a tip for adding this look to your cards with a fan brush in the video below.
After I was happy with the paint splatter on the background, I stamped the sentiment in Versamark Ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  Then just because I couldn't get enough paint splattering I decided to do it again with white paint on the black sentiment panel! What a stress reliever!  You must try this technique if you haven't already!

After I had just the right amount of white paint splatter on the sentiment, I popped the black panel up on foam tape over my rainbow background.  To finish off the card I added some Sparkling Clear Solid Confetti Sequins randomly over the card and a colorful pink heart die cut from the Concord and 9th Quilted Heart Die set.

That's all the rainbow 🌈 paint splattery 🎨  fun for today!
I hope you'll try some paint splattering for yourself!
You can see the process on YouTube or click on the video below.
