Seaside Seagulls mine mine mine

Hello crafty friends and welcome to my blog!
Today I decided to play along with the
The sketch is #432 and it looks like this:

I also decided that since this week's theme at the
No Designer Paper I'd play along there too!

I was so excited to win the MFT sketch challenge #430
I bought the adorable Seaside Seagulls stamp set with my
gift voucher! I also bought the Radiating Rays stencil and I thought
they would pair well together!
I blended 4 different colors of Distress Oxide inks together
and then stenciled some Squeezed Lemonade over the stencil.
I just LOVE the mine mine mine sentiment!
Finding Nemo is one of my favorite movies!

So happy to have time to enter these challenges this week
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day,

SSS Wednesday Challenge and a new Stamp company

It's nice to know that my favorite challenges are here every week even when I can't be.  They are always there when I have time to play.  Oh how I wish I had time to play every day but "adulting" always seems to get in the way!
Yesterday was a crafty day however and I had time to play so I headed over to the Simon Says Stamp blog to see what the Wednesday challenge was for this week.  I was happy to see that the theme is to use a die or punch.  I just love my dies and punches and it's rare that I make a card without one.  For today's card I used several dies and an adorable stamp set I recently purchased that I have fallen in love with! There is a new stamp company located in the U.K. called Alpaca Pals.  The artist's name is Tracey Hey and she is so very talented.  Her stamp sets feature the most adorable hand drawn animals and if you haven't see her work yet, I highly recommend checking it out here. Take a look at the super cute Koala on my card today.  It's from her stamp set called "Koality".
How could you not fall in love with that sweet Koala, not to mention the adorable baby in his backpack!❤️๐Ÿจ❤️
For my card today I made a scene using this sweet Koala.  Since I don't own any Eucalyptus stamps or dies I had to attach my sweet Koala to a palm tree.  I don't think he minds and he looks so cute hanging from that tree! That cute tree is a die from Paper Smooches and the grass die is from Lawn Fawn. Here is the card for today.
The sentiment is from the "Koality" stamp set and it is stamped on another die from Kat Scrappiness called the Distressed Edge Rectangle dies. I cut my Koala out using my
Scan n Cut machine so I guess he is a die cut as well.  Lots of dies on this card to it's perfect for the SSS challenge this week!
Thanks so much for stopping by today and don't forget to check out Tracey's stamps, you won't be sorry!
Have a great day everyone!

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

Hi everyone.  I'm playing along this week with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge.  This week is anything goes but also to use Wplus9 stamps if you have.
I chose to use 2 stamp sets that I have from Wplus9.  They are Paisley Patterns and Fresh Cut Florals.  I just adore floral stamps and dies.  I stamped a random pattern on my background using the Paisley Patterns stamp set with a variety of different Papertrey Ink colors and then I layered the background with an intricate die from Kat Scrappiness.  That frame is called the Wood Grain Framed Wire die and I've been using it a lot lately.  It just seems to go with everything!
I made a focal point for my sentiment using 2 more dies from Kat Scrappiness called
Stitched Scalloped Oval and Stitched Fishtail Banners.  I heat embossed a partial sentiment from Fresh Cut Florals onto the fishtail banner and adhered it to the scalloped oval.  I die cut the word "you" from the Lawn Fawn Quinn's ABC's die set and added it to the oval focal point.
For the last added touch I die cut some flowers from the Fresh Cut Florals and arranged them on the top corner of the oval.
Here is a picture with all of the supplies used.

Thanks for stopping by today to check out my card!
Have an amazing day!

MFT Sketch and SSS Wednesday Challenges

I haven't stayed up late crafting in such a long time but tonight I decided I just didn't want to go to sleep so I stumbled upon the MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #382 and I decided to play along.  It just so happens that this week is an Anything Goes challenge over at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday's challenge and they are using MFT products.  It was a perfect match up and I got to use an older stamp set from MFT called Polynesian Paradise which I love.  The stamp set lends itself to bright tropical colors and beautiful flowers.  I started out by stamping and coloring that cute pineapple with some Zig markers and I thought it would look cute coming out of one of the cups from the Hot Cocoa Cups die set.  The mug was so plain so I dressed it up with the flower cluster from the stamp set.  I used the Stitched Mini Scallop Square for the polka dot background behind the cup to match the sketch.  Finally I cut a tag from the Tag Builder Blueprints 4 and trimmed the
circular opening off of it and stamped the sentiment on it.
The patterned paper is from the MFT Dots and Stripes Sorbet paper pack.
Ok it's 3:30 am so it's probably time for bed now.
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great morning, I already am!

Papertrey Ink MIM and SSS Wednesday Challenge

One fun card, two fun challenges.  I made this card for this weeks Make it Monday challenge over at Papertrey Ink and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge is Anything Goes so I'm entering it into both.  Betsy Veldman made a card for MIM with spot color word die cuts.  I used the Wonderful Words Baby die cut over the Doodlie Do stamp set.  This was a fun technique but I feel like it's hard to make out the word baby.  I stamped a sentiment from the Baby Button Bits stamp set on a stitched fishtail banner from Kat Scrappiness that I cut from some Bitty Big aqua mist paper.
Here is a close up of the die cut "baby" word that I copic colored in pink and aqua.

That's all for today!  Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you get some crafty time in today!
Enjoy your day, I already am!

Simon Says: Sparkle And Shine

I'm not sure if my craft table will ever recover from all this glitter......but I'm ok with it!  Love love love sparkle and shine!  SSS knows this about us paper crafters so this week's challenge was a TON of FUN!!  I finally got my SSS stitched butterflies in the mail so I promptly glittered them up to pop on my card.  The inspiration for this card actually came from a pretty notepad I bought at TJ Maxx recently.  I fell in love with the colors and the shine.  I was going to copy the pretty glittered heart on it but I opted for the beautiful butterflies instead.  Here is the notepad followed by my card.

I made the heart panel by stamping some hearts from the Essentials by Ellen stamp set Fancy Thanks in versamark ink.  I heat embossed them and inked the entire panel with Picked Raspberry and Spiced Marmalade distress inks.
I matted the heart panel on some glitter paper and heat embossed the butterflies with glittered embossing powder after inking them with Picked Raspberry and Spiced Marmalade distress inks as well to match the panel.  The gorgeous doily is from the Greeting Farm which I die cut from glitter paper like the background.  I needed a happy birthday card so this sentiment from SSS Furry Cat and Box was the perfect size for the circle.  So much sparkly goodness on this card I can hardly stand it!
Here is a close up of those sparkly butterflies.

Of course pictures never do justice to sparkle and shine.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great Friday!

Simon Says : Add Some Texture (Take 2)

I am loving this week's Wednesday challenge at Simon Says Stamp to add texture so much that I made a second card.  Instagram is filled with all things Springy and Butterfly related now and I just had to jump on the bandwagon.  Since I am waiting on my butterfly dies from the SSS Fluttering By collection I thought I would take out 2 of my older butterfly dies from
SSS called Devonshire and Paulina. The 2 smaller butterflies are SU punches.
So much inspiration on this card but mostly from Melissa Phillips at Lilybean Paperie.  She has a way of making every card look magical!  On a recent card for the SSS blog hop she sponged her butterflies with distress ink, sprayed with water and splattered white paint on top.
LOVE THOSE RESULTS!

I didn't glue the wings down so they could fly off the page.
I layered those beautiful butterflies on top of the Papertrey Ink Shapeshifters Oval 1 die and I used the Aqua Mist Bitty Big paper as a background.  Since I know my mom will love this card I finished it off with a Happy Mother's Day sentiment from PTI's Butterfly Blooms stamp set.  I heat embossed it with white powder onto a strip of Aqua Mist Bitty Big paper and popped it up on foam tape.  All that was left was to add some sparkly clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and my card was done.
Thanks so much for stopping by today to take a look!
I hope you all are enjoying your Saturday, I know I am!

Simon Says: Add Some Texture

SSS Wednesday Challenge Add Some Texture

I love this week's challenge to add some texture to your project.  I knew I wanted to use a woodgrain embossing folder on the main card but the treasure map on the front wound up having it's own texture.  I didn't realize how much until I showed my son this card and he actually wanted to feel the map, he said it looked like leather.  That's when I knew it was the perfect project for this week's challenge.  I just love the little DeNami chickie stamps and their Pirate Chickie was just meant for this treasure map!  I used the Distressed Edges Rectangle dies from Kat Scrappiness for the map and I inked the edges with Tim Holtz Ground Espresso Distress Ink after I sprayed it with water and crumpled it up a few times.

I used the SSS "Circle Friends" stamp set for the fun stitching lines and the Stitched Alpha Dies from Craftin Desert Divas for my "X" marks the spot embellishments.  The sentiment "Ahoy Matey" came from the Papertrey Ink stamp set "Out to Sea" and the banner and circle seal dies are from the
Spellbinders "Hipster 1" dies.

I actually made a list of how many companies products I used on this card just for fun and it came to 11.  I really enjoyed making this card and it turned out just like I wanted which is rare.  Sometimes the card ideas in my head don't actually make it to the card itself.  See you next week for another
SSS Wednesday challenge!
Thanks for stopping by today.
Have a great day, I already am!

Happy 9th Birthday Simon Says Stamp

๐ŸŽ Happy 9th Birthday Simon Says Stamp!๐ŸŽ‚
The Wednesday challenge at Simon Says Stamp is a Happy Birthday theme for their 9th birthday!

In celebration I took out my SSS birthday stamps and my Gina K Wreath Builder
stencil again and got to work!
Thank you Gina K!  I have had so much fun with my Wreath Builder stencils and I have been looking at my stamp sets in a new way.  I love flower wreaths but I have been enjoying finding other stamps that would look good in a wreath pattern.  Today I took out my SSS set called Birthday Balloons and those cute little balloons were just the perfect size for the wreath stencil!  I also had fun looking through my ink pads for the perfect rainbow colors!  I backed the balloon panel on black cardstock because I always love the look of rainbow colors against a black background.  The sentiment is from an older SSS stamp set called Square Sayings.  I just love how this card came out!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
I hope you get some crafty time in today and have a great day!

Gina K Wreath Builder and DeNami ❤️

My long awaited Gina K Wreath builder set came the other day and I've been working so I haven't had a chance to play with it but tonight I got to have at it!  SO MUCH FUN! If you don't own the wreath builder set yet I highly recommend it!  When I pictured little stamps to use with it I pictured my adorable little DeNami Chickie and the Heart Flower stamps and boy did they work perfectly!  This card came together so quickly and I can't wait to make more wreath cards.  I decided to enter it in this week's Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge since it's an anything goes week.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

SSS Wednesday Challenge

Hello everyone from chilly South Florida.  Although we are not having snow and freezing temperatures here it is VERY cold for us Floridians.  This morning when I left work it was in the high 30's to low 40's.  By the time I got home I couldn't feel my fingers.  When I finally got the feeling back I got out my cute Heffy Doodle elephants and started playing.  The SSS Wednesday challenge is to add a sentiment.  The "Elephant of Surprise" stamp set has such cute sentiments with elephant puns.  I stamped my sentient in versamark ink and heat embossed it with some Hero Arts white embossing powder.  I stamped a mirror image of the elephant so they could be facing each other.  I made the background with a cute heart stamp and I heat embossed it with gold embossing powder and then water colored it with Spun Sugar and Picked Raspberry distress inks.
I'm very happy with the card and I think it really came together in the end.
Thanks for stopping by today, stay warm and have a great day!

SSS Wednesday Challenge

I made a really fun card tonight with a fun rainbow background and some embossed rain drops.  It looks like patterned paper so I'm entering it into this weeks SSS Wednesday challenge.  The challenge is to used store bought patterned paper in your project or make your own.  I used distress inks to blend a rainbow background and then I used the SSS raindrops stencil and some white embossing powder to give it a rainy day look.  The sun, clouds and sentiment are from My Creative Time.  I recently renovated my craft room and it's amazing what organizing your craft room does for your creativity!  Enjoy your weekend everyone, I think we are headed to the fair tomorrow.  I'm sure there is some fried dough with my name on it.๐Ÿ˜‚
Here is my card for this week
