Reverse Confetti SFYTT December

Hello all!  Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season.  I've had lots of time to play in my craft room lately and I'm loving it!  Today I'm playing along with Reverse Confetti's December sketch challenge.  Here is the sketch for this month.
So many different fun patterned papers to choose from but I went with polka dots and pastels.  Here is my card for the challenge using the stamp set "Donut You Know".
Have a great day!  I already am!

Good morning everyone.  I was browsing the internet last night and came across a guest designer search for Paper Smooches.  They are looking for a guest designer for the month of January.  I thought it would be fun to enter since I have so many fun Paper Smooches cards that I've made over time.  They have such fun quirky characters that make for some awesome cards!  Here are the cards I'm submitting:

Papertrey Ink Create Along With Us

I am a long time admirer of all things Papertrey Ink.  I was so shocked to find out that Nichole was leaving but I'm sure it was the right decision for her and I wish her luck!  The talented designers at PTI have always inspired me to create some amazing cards and projects and today was no different.  Heather Nichols is one of the designers that I have always admired.  I love her classy style and I have a feeling that she loves kraft card stock as much as I do.  Here is the card that she made for the December release that I fell in love with and inspired my card today:
I am entering my card into the Create Along With Us challenge for the December release.
I used one of my favorite floral stamps, Rosie Posie and Rosie Posie 2 with the Holiday die cut from the Wonderful Words: Holidays set.  I stamped the word "HUGS" with the Fresh Alphabet stamp set.  I finished it off with a bow made from rustic jute twine.  I love how the card came together in the end and I can't wait for the Farmers Market Floral stamps to be released!
Here is my card:
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

CAS(E) this Sketch #250

Happy Monday everyone...... can Monday be happy?  Well mine was, I played along with the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge #250 and I enjoyed playing with a stamp set I haven't taken out in a while.  It's Blanket Stitched Blooms from Wplus9.  That set has the cutest stitched flowers and I colored them in with my Prismacolor pencils.  I also used a freebie die from Taylored Expressions for the sentiment.  I cut the "thanks" word out of black cardstock and layered it onto black foam for a more dimensional look, I also used my Wink of Stella brush to give the letters some sparkle.  I hope you all had a chance to play today!
Have a great day everyone!

PTI MAKE IT MONDAY #306: EASY FAN BRUSH TREES

Hi everyone.  I'm in South Florida and we are having a very rainy cold day here for a change.  It is the perfect weather to create my wintry card today.  Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday challenge is to create a card with fan brush trees.  I don't own a fan brush so I grabbed the closest brush to it and made some trees.  Clearly I'm not a painter but painting can be so abstract that I gave it a whirl.  Ok so my trees are not Betsy Veldman worthy but I do like how the card came out in the end.  I used some liquid applique for the snow and hit it with the heat gun to puff it up...... then I sent it through my vagabond and flattened some of it out....... #snowattemptfail.  Oh well, most of it is still puffy so I went ahead with the adorable tag and pretty twine bow and called it a day.  Here is my card for this weeks Make it Monday.
Have a great day!

My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge 362

Today I made a card for the MFT Sketch Challenge #362.   Since I love shaker cards I decided to incorporate two shaker windows into my card where the circles are in the sketch.  Since the cute Hog Heaven stamp set has love themed pigs I wanted my shakers to be in the shape of hearts.  I just love those cute little pigs!  Here is my card for this week, I love how it turned out.  Still working on coloring with copics...... it's a labor of love!

Ok off to bed since I worked last night, I just had to stay up and play for a little while before I could go to sleep.
Have a great day everyone!

A few cards to share

Here are some of the cards I've made recently.  Some were originals and some were copies of cards I've loved.  I copied the dog "box" card to give to my daughter.  She is a real dog person! She has a Havanese named Sophie.  She just loved that card! I'll be back soon with some more cards and projects.

SSS Wednesday Challenge : Spring Color Inspiration

Good morning everyone. I love this week's SSS Wednesday challenge. Pastel colors are my favorite and Lawn Fawn has so many cute stamp sets, you can literally create any project your heart desires. I broke out 2 Lawn Fawn stamp sets, 1 die set, 1 lawn trimming, and 4 ink pads for this adorable Easter tag. I used the ink pads to create a watercolor background that I could stamp on and then I added that cute little bunny to the bottom with foam tape. I am enjoying blogging again and entering challenges. I forgot how much I used to enjoy it. Here is my entry for this week's challenge:

SSS Monday Challenge

Hi everyone, back with another SSS Monday challenge.  This week is dedicated to all things that hop, which makes sense with Easter coming in less than a week.  I recently got some really cute bunny dies from My Creative Time and I thought they would go well with a nice watercolored border with some springtime colors. Here is this weeks card:

SSS Wednesday Challenge

I work night shift at the hospital and sometimes when I get home in the morning I feel like playing more than I do sleeping, this was one of those mornings.  I finished a card today that I started making over the weekend.  It's a birthday card for one of my daughter's friends.  She requested a cupcake shaker card.........my favorite kind!!!!  I figured since it was a birthday card I would enter it in the SSS Wednesday challenge.  Here is the cute card filled with 3 separate shaker windows and 3 adorable cupcakes.  I used the Hog Heaven stamp set from MFT for the cupcake and the happy birthday sentiment is from a SSS set called handwritten borders.  The inside sentiment is from a Mama Elephant set called Carnival Toppers.  I even decorated  and personalized the envelope with the cute little piggy.  Ok I should probably get some sleep now so I'm not a zombie at Passover Seder tonight.

Ok have a great day everyone!

SSS Wednesday Challenge

Happy Friday everyone!  Just dropping by again to post a card for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge.  The theme this week is birthday cards.  I made a cute slider birthday card recently using the SSS birthday farm animals stamp set.  I just love the shading and coloring on the card.  This type of card is a little more involved to make but totally worth it!!  There are so many awesome tutorials on You Tube.  Here is the front of the card:
And here is the card when it is opened:
I just love how this card turned out!

SSS Monday Challenge

TGIF!!
Happy Friday everyone!  I thought I'd post a few cards today for the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge.  This week the theme is one of my favorites.....RAINBOWS!!  I have always loved rainbows ever since I was a kid.  I have 2 cards I want to enter today, one is a thank you card and one is a love themed card.
The thank you card is made with watercolor pencils and a Lawn Fawn die.  I just love how the rainbow colors pop against the black background.  I am also a big fan of the hand stitching around the border of the card.  Here is the first card:
For the second love card I used a cute rainbow die that I have had a long time.  I just love the color combination of the pink and yellow patterned paper ending in the cute teal polka dot hearts. In my opinion you can't go wrong with anything rainbow.
Here is the second card:

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
I hope you have a wonderful Friday,

Papertrey Ink Make it Monday

Wow, it's been a while.  I've missed blogging and I used to really enjoy it.  I never used to miss a Papertrey Ink Make it Monday challenge so I thought it would be fun to revive the old blog with this week's challenge.  The "out of the box" theme seemed like fun but in actuality there were so many possibilities it was hard to pick a design.  I have always loved the Rosie Posie stamp set and I stamped the flowers with an ombre ink pad by Recollections.  I just love the varied colors on the flowers.  The "thanks" die is from Lawn Fawn and the brown frame is actually a die I purchased from China via an app called Wish.  They have super cheap dies that work just as well as the expensive dies we all love.  Hopefully I can get back into the swing of blogging and sharing my cards.  It's such good therapy! Thanks for visiting my blog and have a great day!  I already am!

Time to get back to blogging

It's time to dust off the old blog and start posting cards and entering some challenges. I miss blogging and I can't wait to start again. My daughter has taken up planning in the recent months and she is enjoying it immensely. She has started periscoping with a lot of other girls in the "planner community" and she is dying to get me to start "scoping" as well. Who knows?  Maybe it's time to start a new venture?!  That's it for now. I'll be back very soon with some fun cards.
Have a great day!

Paper Smooches January Guest Designer Search

I really need to visit my lonely blog more often.  I really wish I could blog on my iPad, it would make things so much easier!  Anyway I came across a guest designer call today for Paper Smooches.  They are looking for a guest designer for January and I thought I would give it a try.  I recently got these adorable bee dies in the mail from PS and I made a really cute anniversary card with them.  I won't lie, I did get my inspiration from the incredibly talented Jennifer McGuire.  She is oozing with talent and I love to watch her videos!  In my house she is a celebrity....  Anyway on to the card.  I popped my tag up on an embossed panel of hearts and I really love how it turned out!
Those bees are so stinkin' cute!  I can see some hap-bee birthday cards in their future!
Have a great day!

Friday, October 23, 2015

Well, after a little over 2 years I decided it was time to dust off my little old blog.  It's all thanks to my daughter Taylor.  She has developed a recent addiction to life planners.  With her recent purchase of an Erin Condren planner she has inadvertently entered the world of papercrafting.  She is sounding more and more like me every day.  She shows me cute Heidi Swapp stamps and adorable MAMBI stickers and she is surprised every time I say, "yeah I know that company".  It's so much fun sharing this world with her because up until now it was just me in my craft room.  Now she wants to "stamp" in her planner and have "craft time".  It's wonderful!

The other day she said, hey mom there is a design team call for Doodlebug Designs, I think you should enter.  I just about fell over.  I've been in love with Doodlebug Designs for years.  I love their bright colors, adorable die cuts and all the delicious glitter and embellishments.  Once again Taylor was surprised that I had heard of Doodlebug Designs.  I used to be on 3 design teams and I loved every minute of it but eventually life got busy and designing went by the wayside.  Now the kids are older and I have the time again.  I am very excited for this design team and I would love to win a spot on the team.  I never stopped creating and designing and have always been hopeful to once again join another design team.  I've missed blogging and this is the perfect chance to get back into it.

Here are a few projects that I am submitting with my applications.  So happy to have found this design team call in time!

Have a great day everyone!

PTI Blog Hop and SSS Anything Goes Challenge

Ok two posts in one day, I'm having way too much fun!  I decided to play along at the Simon Says Stamp Challenge and the theme is anything goes using Impression Obsession Stamps.  My projects almost always include Papertrey Ink cardstock so when I designed my card on an angle I decided to enter it into the PTI blog hop over at Nichole's Blog.  The base of the card is PTI Hawaiian Shores and the Instant Camera Die is cut from Raspberry Fizz cardstock. I just recently got 2 Impression Obsession stamps so when I saw the challenge over at SSS, I knew I wanted to play along.  I saw this technique in the Pattern Play online card class and wanted to try it out.  The two IO stamps are Herringbone and Spatter.  I inked the Herringbone stamp with Hero Arts wet cement and the Spatter stamp with Pool Party by SU and then a second time with Hibiscus Burst from PTI.  I love the look of the two stamps together.  The typewriter stamp is from Mama Elephant and I just love that adorable image!  I also decided to back the typewriter up against my new Lil Inker Instant Camera Die.  I needed to mute the background so I placed vellum behind the die and the typewriter really stood out after that.  I finished the card off with some enamel dots and some washi tape and a lone heart smothered in glossy accents for a shiny finish!  I really love how this card turned out.
I hope you all are enjoying your day as much as I am!

Papertrey Ink April 2013 Blog Hop

Good morning everyone! Today I got to play along with the Papertrey April Blog Hop.  The theme this month is to create a project that features something tilted.  Nichole's blog is busy this morning with everyone adding their projects and I can't wait to see them all! Today I had fun with the new Big Ticket Basics stamps and dies.  For some extra added pattern and color I matted the ticket on some pretty polka dot paper.  I also die cut some small arrows from the Sketched Shape dies in Raspberry Fizz and Hawaiian Shores cardstock for some extra added fun!  Everything on this card is tilted different ways for the blog hop theme and it was actually a lot of fun to not line things up straight for once.  I also experimented with some colorful misting on the wood grain cardstock panel.  Here is my colorfully tilted card!
Ok that's all for now!  Have a great day everyone!
