Isabella's Blog Hop - Anything Goes

This week our challenge to YOU is to do a card with an Isabella image with the theme "Anything Goes" !!!
Isabella has supplied the design team with one not yet released image to play with.  The lemon basket on the card above is that beautiful image and I chose to back it up with some colorful yellow gingham paper from the Girls' Paperie.  The crocheted flower on the ribbon is from my etsy shop and the button is from
Papertrey Ink
You can do whatever you like!
The Design Team is having our first ever blog hop using the lemon basket image designed by
Isabella for the hop.
This is a "circular blog hop" where the beginning is wherever you start!!
You will know you are at the end of the blog hop when you've come back to the blog
you've started from!  There will be NINE winners who will be chosen at random from comments
left on the Design Team blogs. None of the Design Team will know who the winners are until the hop
is over. We will have our hop open until Friday, July 2nd at 8pm.
The winners will be announced on Saturday, July 3rd.

Have fun and enjoy the hop! Your next hop is over to Peggy at The Wired Angel
and be sure to keep hopping and leaving comments along the way
(the more comments, the more chance of winning) until you've come back to where you started!
Ok Everyone, Have Fun and Get Hopping!

{hugs} and {hops}

Shabby Tea Room Cards

Good morning everyone!  I went a little crazy lately with a very similar theme!  I love handmade flowers and the combination of Papertrey Ink's Raspberry Fizz and Hawaiian Shores!  I also like the way the Kraft cardstock fits into the equation too!  All of these cards have techniques that I learned from Dawn McVey.  She is one of the VERY talented designers over at Papertrey Ink and if you haven't yet visited her blog, well then, I highly recomment it!  You're in for a real treat!  She has a very classic style and her work is amazing!  She is big into handmade flowers, polka dots and bright color combinations.
All of these cards fit well into the theme this week over at the Shabby Tea Room.  The color scheme is hot pink, lime green and turquoise.  The 2 cards with the doily base for the flowers are a variation of a series of flowers that a very talented designer Christine Middlecamp has been doing on her blog.  She calls it The Embellished Paper Doily.  What an adorable project!  Head on over to her blog to see all of the wonderful doilys that she created and the final project where she put them all into a shadowbox.  Very pretty!  Dawn actually highlighted Christine on her blog and made a few of her own embellished doilys!
Ok that is my bounty to share with you today!  Lots of color and lots of inspiration and LOADS of FUN!!  Everyone have a wonderful day!  I already am!

"Papertrey June Blog Hop Challenge".

Like so many of you I LOVE Papertrey products and to prove it, half of my paycheck goes to them each week!  OK maybe not half but wow, it would be easy to do!!!  I do my own daily blog hops each day to see what each PTI design team member has created and the inspiration is.... well....... INSPIRING!!  I don't know how they continue to come up with one great idea after another??
My favorite color combination from PTI is
RASPBERRY FIZZ and HAWAIIAN SHORES
I love how these strong colors compliment each other and they are my "go to" colors!  I especially love how they look against a kraft color background!
The inspiration for this card is from Dawn McVey.  I love her blog and her creations and her bright cheery smile!  I love her new post about cork, I can't wait to get my hands on some of that!
That's all for now.  Can't wait for the blog hop later!  And after that, I plan to dive into that PTI package that came to the door yesterday!  NEW JUNE RELEASE PRODUCTS...... YOWZA!!!
Have a great night everyone!  I already am!!

Embellish Magazine - Babies Color Challenge

Good Morning Everyone!  I have a new card to show you.  The second picture is the inside of the card.  This card  is for the Embellish Magazine - Baby Color Challenge.  I used patterened paper from October Afternoon, cardstock, felt and buttons from Papertrey Ink, and crocheted flowers made by my mom.  I am now selling these dainty crocheted flowers in my etsy shop, so check out the various colors you can order them in.  Here is the photo for the challenge from Embellish Magazine.  The four colors are so soft and pretty and they would compliment any baby card.

Thanks for visiting everyone and have a great day, I already am!

Isabella's Challenge #13 - Summer Fun

Welcome blog buddies to another weekly challenge at Isabella's Sketchbook!  This week the challenge is called Summer Fun!  It definitely looks and feels like summer has begun!  We are all dying of heat and at the end of the day we smell like we bathed in chlorine all day!  Yep, must be summer!  I don't know about you but the best way to cool down in summer besides going swimming is to have a nice cold sweet treat like ice cream!  That is why I picked this yummy Isabella image for this week's card.  Nothing says summer like ice cream!  Once again my talented co-worker Karim helped me by coloring in my ice cream sundae.  He did a great job, it looks good enough to eat!
This week your challenge is to grab a summery image from Isabella's Digi Boutique and create a summer fun filled  card.  You could win 2 free digital images and the I won badge to display proudly on your blog!
Don't forget to check out what the rest of the talented design team has created for you this week!
Have a wonderful day blog buddies!  I already am!

So Thankful!

Don't panic!!!  I have not taken leave of my PINK senses, I just think it's time to branch out and try different color combinations.  There are so many gorgeous color combinations out there like soft blue and yellow for starters!  I just got some new patterned paper from October Afternoon and I am inspired!  I have always loved the Shabby Vintage style but I want to experiment more with the embellishments.  One of my favorite elements on this card is the tiny spool of thread at the bottom.  That spool is actually a stamp from Clear Art Stamps and the set is called Material Girl.  I stamped the spool and cut it out then wrapped twine around it.  What a cute embellishment!!  The sentiment is a stamp from Lawn Fawn stamps from a set called Sew Lovely.    All of my buttons are from Papertrey Ink, a website that I have been contributing half of my paycheck to for some time now!!  You MUST check out that website, but be careful, IT'S ADDICTING!!

One of my many favorite designers is Melissa Phillips and her work is absolutely inspiring not to mention her lovely blog, LilyBean's Paperie!  She is one of the masters of the vintage style!  I have to say that my style really started to take shape when I discovered her blog and her work!  My recent spot on the design team at The Shabby Tea Room has given me renewed inspiration and I can't wait to take my designing to the next level!  I have been very fortunate in these last four months.  I started my blog four short months ago and have never had more fun!  My dream was to enter card challenges and be noticed, which I have.  I wanted to be part of a design team, and now I am part of three.  I do have one more goal and that is for one of my cards to be published in a magazine, so I am working on that.  One of my other favorite designers is Dawn McVey.  Her blog is called My Favorite Things and her style is clean and classic which I love as well!  Dawn has a link on her blog that has publishing tips on it and she is so kind to share them with anyone who wants the info.  She certainly has seen her share of published cards!

There is so much inspiration out there to soak up and I am enjoying every single little bit of it!
The most important thing you can do in life is to enjoy it!  Find something you enjoy doing and do it with gusto!!

I am entering my "Sew Lovely" card in the following challenges this week:

Have a wonderful day everyone!  I already am!

Isabella's Challenge #12 - Honoring Fathers

Good Morning and welcome to another weekly challenge at Isabella's Sketchbook
This week in honor of Father's Day we are honoring none other than Dear Old Dad!!  I picked out this image of a golf bag and clubs in honor of my dad!  He is my rock and he is always there for me, no matter what I need!  He is the official bug killer, a/c filter changer, plumber, electrician and whatever other person I need at that moment.  But most of all he has given me countless hours of support and guidance for 41 years now and how can you thank someone for that???  I Love You Dad, on Father's Day and always!!

So your challenge this week is to visit Isabella's Boutique and pick out your own Father's Day image that fits your father and create a card that will do your dad proud!  You could win two free images and the I Won Badge to display proudly on your blog!  Also, check out what the design team has created for you to inspire you!  They are a talented bunch and I am lucky to be able to work with them.

I wanted to extend a special thank you to one of my co-workers Karim for helping me out with the wonderful watercoloring he did for my golf bag!  He is a very talented artist and it was so kind of him to share his talents with me for this image and card!  So Happy Father's Day Karim!

That's all for now, get out there and create your own Father's Day Card!  I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!

Laura's Sketch 54 at 2S4Y

One more post for today.  I've been so busy that I haven't been able to enter as many challenges as I was and I missed the sketches over at 2S4Y so today I was able to make this card  from
 Laura's sketch #54 shown below

I just love the patterned paper from K & Company.  They have such beautiful patterns and colors!  the PTI kraft cardstock is stamped with versamark ink with the Background Basics Text Style from PTI as well.
Prima flowers always finish everything off so nicely!
Well that's all for now, have a great day!

☼Sweet Summer Days☼

Did your mother wear an apron and make lemonade in the kitchen during summer time?  No?  Oh well, mine didn't either...  LOL  This apron from Isabella's Sketchbook reminded me of hot summer days and cool lemonade so I thought it would be perfect for The Shabby Tea Room's challenge this week.
Just stopping by to post my card, off to clean the craft room........ ugggghhhhh.
Have a great day!  I already am!

♥♥♥OH MY SHABBY GOODNESS - TAKE TWO♥♥♥

I decided to make another card for The Shabby Tea Room Design Team Call.  I wanted to try to make a card that was a little closer in design to the inspiration photo on the website.  It looks like this:

For this second card I used the template for the teapot above and stamped it with a damask design from Papertrey Ink's Damask Design's stamp set.  I also used some printed muslin that I have had in my stash for some time now and just didn't know where to use it.  I like the contrast of the fabric on the red cardstock.  Funny thing is when my daughter saw the card she said "Ooohh it's red!"  She was surprised not to see pink on my card and it made me realize that every now and then I need to expand my color choices a little.  LOL
That's all for today, hope you all enjoy the card.
Have a great day, I already am!

Embellish Labels Color Challenge

Embellish magazine has such incredible color challenges.  They put together colors that I would never think of and they always look so good together!  Their challenge over at their blog right now is to use labels and the color combination, yellow, brown and coral.  Here is the inspirational photo they are showing.

I have to say that I really enjoyed using these rich, bold colors and the Papertrey label die really looks great in that coral color!  And as always, I love my swiss dots embossing folder from cuttlebug.
Well that's all for now, just couldn't miss out on this challenge, those colors are yummy!
Have a great night!
{hugs} Lisa

♥To Sir With Love♥

Well, Father's Day is fast approaching and the pressure was on to create a Father's Day card worthy of my Dad!  The problem was that I don't do well without my pink, lace, bling and foofy style!  I have to say though that I did compromise on this card.  I still have my girly image and a ribbon at the top yet I think it can pass for a Father's Day Card.
Any of you who are loyal Glee fans will recognize the sentiment on my card immediately!  My daughters are die hard Glee fans and when I heard this song last night on the season finale, inspiration hit!  The 1967 hit song and movie "To Sir With Love" featured a song dedicated to a great teacher but I knew that I could easily dedicate it to my Dad.  The singer was a gal named Lulu and I just love the line
"How do you thank someone who has taken you from crayons to perfume?"
It's just such a fitting line for my Dad!  I can't possibly thank him enough for all he's done and continues to do for me everyday!  He's the babysitter, bug killer, a/c filter changer, plumber and oh so much more!  He's just there when I need him... NO QUESTIONS ASKED!  I'm a very lucky "little girl" (at heart) to have such a wonderful father.  So on Father's Day and always, I Love You DAD!!!  Thank you for all you do!
The Shabby Tea Room is of course holding a challenge this week honoring fathers so I am submitting this card tonight over there with all of the other wonderful cards.  The image on the front of the card is a cute little gal named Meeshelle from the Polkadoodle's stamp set.  She is just soooo cute, I thought she brought that sentiment home well!
Goodnight everyone and sweet dreams!

♥♥♥ OH MY SHABBY GOODNESS! ♥♥♥

This is soooo exciting!!!  One of my favorite challenge blogs is holding a design team call and 2 lucky winners will be selected to join the design team at The Shabby Tea Room!
Starting now until June 16th everyone has a chance to enter a card or project based on this photograph.

It has been a while but back in 1998 I used to watch a scrapbooking show hosted by Sandy Genovese (my original scrapbook Guru) LOL  She made the most adorable "mobile" cards and I absolutely fell in love with them!  At the time I made several mobile cards with a love theme.  When I saw the DT call I immediately knew what card I wanted to make.  I got to work early this morning and you can see the results of the inside of the card at the top of this post.  Here is the front of the card.

The card opens up to the most adorable mobile of hanging tea cups dangling from the center of the card.  I just received the Tea For Two stamp set from Papertrey Ink (LOVE LOVE LOVE that store) and it came just in time for this card!!  I really love how this card came out and I sincerely hope that Debbie and the rest of the talented Design Team over at TSTR love it too!  I would consider it an honor to be accepted as one of the Shabby Girls {wink}!
Here is another close up of the inside of the card with the dangling tea cups.

Well everyone there you have it, my teapot mobile card!  I hope you all like it!
Have a wonderful evening everyone, I already am!!!

♥♥♥LOVE CARD♥♥♥

Good morning (almost afternoon) everyone!  Today I have a card to show you that I will be entering into 3 different challenges.  My main focus for this card was a heart theme for The Shabby Tea Room.  Their challenge this week is #12 "Dear To My Heart".  I glittered the center heart and wrapped it in pink ribbon and finished it off with a prima rose in the center.  I love the way the heart looks with all those embellishments!

The next challenge is The City Crafter Challenge Blog.  Their challenge this week is to use buttons and bows, (two of my favorites)!  Frankly, I have a hard time NOT using buttons and bows on my cards so this challenge was a no brainer!  And last but not least is a new challenge to me that I found today called Allsorts Challenge Blog.  Their challenge this week was to make a card using the colors of strawberries and cream which of course are the main colors of my card.  As always, I do love my pink, glitter, ribbons and shabbiness!  Shabbiness... is that a word?  Oh well, it is today!
Have a great day everyone!  I already am!

Isabella's Sketchbook Challenge #10 - Black and White Card

Good Morning Everyone!  I am very excited to share today's challenge with you over at Isabella's Sketchbook!   I also wanted to show you the new image on Isabella's blog that you can copy for your own blog!  It has such beautiful watercolors and a gorgeous butterfly!  I've added it to my sidebar and you can copy and save it to your blog as well!

OK, on to challenge # 10 and it is a Black and White Challenge.  Using one of Isabella's wonderful digital images, create a card where only the image has color in it.  This challenge was a little difficult because I think we are so used to using such varied colors in our projects and mixing and matching to get just the right blend.  I actually love the way this card looks because using black and white really made the apron "POP" off of the card!  Isabella has some adorable apron images but any image would work with this card!  I used the "Sweetie Apron" image for this card.  Link your card to Isabellas challenge blog and you could win 2 free digi images and the beautiful "I Won" badge on Isabella's website!  Make sure you check out all of the amazing cards by our incredibly talented design team to give you some inspiration!  These women really know how to get their CRAFT ON!
Have a wonderful day... I already am!!!

♥Material Girl♥

I've been wanting to die cut these mini dresses out of some floral material for some time now and when I saw Laura's sketch 53 over at 2s4y this week I knew just what to do with them!  Here is the sketch that I worked off of...
That's all for today!  See you tomorrow with Isabella's Weekly Wednesday Challenge!
